With regards to the AI crashing into you and so forth, please watch this here video, it might help you.
Bear in mind that i too still need to master this level of driving, but it is worth a watch and maybe learn a few tips.

Thanks

Nice vid, I was thinking 'that's how I drive!' so therefore I need to start trying Alien myself and see how I get on. Also kinda highlights the fact that if he was to do a 20 lap race for example, he'd have no competition at all for most of it. Therein lies the problem many racing games face.

The guys up top have provided a pretty thorough explanation now, though. 👍

There's also two other methods:
  • the old-school approach of just hitting "Reply" on each post you want to respond to before hitting "Post Reply". This does jump you down to the bottom of a page every time though.
  • Highlighting the portions of post(s) you want to respond to, and clicking the 'Reply' that pops up. Same issue with being teleported to the bottom after each time.
Personally, I still do the old-school approach, because + Quote didn't return to the site until a short while into the current design's time.
Seriously? I had no freakin' idea you could do those two things. Sweet.

I've always wondered what the "H" stands for in "Jesus H Christ".............. 💡 Happy? Hysterical? Hates? Hallelujah?

Are you guys serious? You really don't know what the H stands for? LOL I guess I chat with a bunch of heathens every day. Everybody should know that the H stands for:

Oh...I forgot to grab the Quote. Someone was asking if the PC version has descriptions/power & torque graphs/a way to preview cars/blah blah blah.

The answer to all of your questions is.........................................................................YES!

For Kunos supplied cars, we usually get a brief background history on the car, or maybe just the engine or the iteration of that car's line. I actually can't remember if stock Assetto Corsa shows a power/torque graph, but I know for certain it gives the values. I use something called Content Manager (which I think I might like even more than Assetto Corsa LOL) and that DOES have the graphs in purrty colors. Last but not least, the PC Master Race (PC Heil) has something called "Showrooms". They're pretty much what you would think of when you hear the word "Showroom" (link), except these don't always have to be in a building. In fact, I think more are outdoors than indoors, but I might be wrong. Some modders actually create cool new looking showrooms, like so the car is shown in an auto garage (link) on or in a field somewhere. If they're done right, with good lighting, they can look awesome. In the showroom we can do a revolving view around the car - or take control with our mouse. Then we can open & close doors and stuff. Get inside the car...all that happy horsepoop.

Ryan have a little respect for those that enjoy modern F1 cars, <...> you will go spiralling into depression and watch as the darkness consumes your soul until you have no choice to make a blood pact with the demon lord Ug'Thak.

I'm pretty sure that you've got this the wrong way around. A blood pact with the demon lord Ug'Thak is what you would need to actually drive the Ferrari SF15T Formula 1 car.

That's the ok part, until you actually have to start engineering all the buttons and options to be competitive, and you can only keep one eye on the road. Sucks to be an F1 driver these days :D

Thanks for alerting me to your skills, i should be careful when facing you :D
just kidding, i welcome a good challenge even in my infancy.

Funny but still... What a life. http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/williams-confirms-bottas-and-stroll-for-2017.127904/

18 year old son to a billionaire. How can anyone compete with that.
I'm sure there are other 18 year old sons and daughters of billionaires to compete with:lol:. Rumours are floating around that his Dad has upwards of $75 million into his son's career so far. Still, he's got some talent and his F3 results show that, although his Dad bought the team and invested lots of money in wind tunnel and other testing:rolleyes:. You have to perform on the track though and he did that quite handily.

Go Canada!

Me thinks we should get our fathers to invest in our sim racing careers

I already own a wind tunnel, but he can sponsor the rest of the rig :D

Your wife yelling at you in the hallway for spending too much time on your rig doesn't qualify as a wind tunnel:lol:. Even though we ended up even in my last year, he still likes to remind me once in a while of financing my karting career:odd:. A sim racing career might be a tough sell but Christmas is coming:idea:

I should have said how can an average joe who never had a lot of money which does exist at the same time coming through the ranks and never makes it because they do not have the big backing of such amounts of wealth.

The more money you have, the more successful you will be, all else the same of course. It's always been that way, always will be, only the amounts change.

That's mostly accurate but there are plenty of examples of people who didn't come from money but ended up very successful based mostly on their talent alone. Senna and Hamilton come to mind. But sadly now money often matters far more than talent in the motorsports world. How else would Maldonado get a F1 ride?

But, we'd better get back on topic before we get our knuckles cracked again. :nervous:

Hamilton yes, but Senna was also coming from money, he was born Ayrton Senna da Silva on March 21, 1960 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He was the son of Neyde Senna whose family is of Italian lineage and Milton Theodoro Silva who is a wealthy Brazilian landowner and factory owner( more here)

Oh, ok, I thought he came from a poor family for some reason.

Maldonado won a race though. No one can take that from him.

And the Number of drivers in Motorsport that purely based on Talent and coming from poor families make it is tiny. Thankfully there is GT Academy.
