This is far from being PCars case. And it is ridiculous to compare Kunos with Hello Games.

Assetto has many of the features in PC, including the most important: physics and force feedback. Also, the console version is going to get the feature that the people mostly demands (private lobbies). And that feature wasnt promised (is not in the PC also).

PCars was a glitchy mess at the begining, and didnt had very important things like the online rating.

No mans sky is just one of the biggest lies in videogame history.

I can totally understand them saying that the console would have the same physics & content as the PC version. But they should have known long ago that it was not going to have the same "features". Or, even to cover their butts they should have said "same physics & content and as many of the same features that we can..." There is not a chance in the world that the Console version is going to have all the built in Apps that we have on PC, for instance. Not a freakin' chance in hell.

So, as developers they should have said, "we can't use the words exactly the same fe Integrated hey put themselves into this mess regarding the language used pre-launch. If I were a console player and let's say that AC on PS4 runs 100% exactly as well as it does on PC, has the same exact cars too...but if the console version doesn't allow me to move around my driver's view in any direction or change the FoV, I would feel lied to. You know every single PC player in this thread has used that application multiple times on many different cars.

Question for PC players in this thread:

Is it me or does Stefano seem much, much nicer to console players? I haven't seen one F-Bomb...he hasn't called anyone an idiot or moron... Frankly, I find that stuff hilarious when someone asks him a ridiculous question in the Chit Chat forum... Before anyone takes this out of context, it's more like the difference between the way you would talk around your friends versus the way you'd talk around your parents as a teenager, or something like that. He has had some great ones tho. :D

Well... You can call me crazy, but if they really wanted I'm sure that they could make an 100% identical port of the PC version with all features, content an apps...

The only thing that wouldn't be on console is mod support due policy of Microsoft & Sony.

Why i say that? easy, the new consoles hardware is built literally on a PC base...

If you look the minimum requirements of Assetto on PC(or even recommended):

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
OS: Windows Vista SP2, 7, 8, 8.1, 10
Processor: AMD Athlon X2 2.8 GHZ, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHZ
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: DirectX 10.1 (AMD Radeon HD 6450, Nvidia GeForce GTX 460)
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Hard Drive: 15 GB available space
Sound Card: Integrated

RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
OS: Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10
Processor: AMD Six-Core CPU, Intel Quad-Core CPU
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: DirectX 11 (AMD Radeon 290x, Nvidia GeForce GTX 970)
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Hard Drive: 30 GB available space
Sound Card: Integrated

And you compare with for example the Basis PS4 spec's :

CPU:Low power x86-64 AMD "Jaguar", 8 cores
GPU:1.84 TFLOPS, AMD next-generation Radeon™ based graphics engine
MEMORY:GDDR5 8GB
HDD:500GB Hard disk drive
OPTICAL DRIVE (READ ONLY):BD x 6 CAV;DVD x 8 CAV

Even with kind of "laptop" components... it should be perfectly possible to achieve an 100% equal port with reasonable good performance.

And thanks to the closed hardware, they can work on a nice optimization...

So,i realy think that what happened is that it's a too small team for so much work that represents 3 platforms.

but it doesn't really take much away from the fact that there aren't many alternatives on the console market for those who can appreciate how AC drives on the track. If you can't, then features are meaningless anyway.
I think you're missing the bigger picture. Or, at least, I see it from a different perspective.

You see, it's exactly because this is the best driving experience on console that I want them to get it right.

I want them to sell half a million of these on console and grow into a bigger company, with more money and more resources.

I want to play Assetto Corsa 2 and 3 on the PlayStation, with 500 cars and 50 tracks.

Sure, in the meantime, I'll keep playing and enjoying AC with a stupid grin on my face, because it is that good.
But seeing this much potential wasted - especially for such stupid things - is quite frustrating.

I wonder if such would come to Assetto Corsa?

Photo Mode and Showroom were 2 of my most wanted additions. I am kind of gutted Kunos do not plan to add them to console.

Oh well. That was unexpected. Photomode and showroom not planned for the console version? But why? Not enough time, staff, money? These might just be nice additions but that replay function is broken. They dont plan to fix it? Thats lazy and a bit rude to be honest. I really like Kunos, i really enjoy the game, but thats a massive let down.

Yes it seems inconceivable that we can't get replays that last longer than 3 minutes in this day and age. I recall Driveclub launching with no replays at all but they patched them in after a while. Full race replays. Kunos are saying they're not going to do it. Very strange.

I play racing games for 20 years. I have never experienced a replay function that only lasts for 3 minutes. Then, Assetto Corsa was released on consoles.
And you can't even select to watch the first 3 minutes when all the epic making-your-way-through-the-pack stuff happens :grumpy:

In my opinion, getting it right is mostly about fixing things not working as intended. I'll take more features but it's the least of my concerns until I see what the incoming patch has done to address several issues.

How long since ac day one release?

if you start thinking about the months passing I'm pretty sure pcars was already in a way better shape than ac is now and it's going to be after the next update...

Having great foundations is GREAT but there more to it to reach the mountains top... And private lobbies are a big recipe of how much wasted playability is the game now...

No custom races, no private options online, barebone career, Ai that is fast but way too much suicidal... Can't use dlc cars online, no proper replays, no photomode...

We console users had a dream. They took it from us now.

I just hope the freaking lobbies come before the game is done for...

Online is so empty now that I already feel it's too late, but the quality in the game could make it get back alive.

Maybe I should just surrender with my house and use the game just for some hotlapping at nurb and mugello :'(

Also... barebone HUD, no custom button mapping, limited FOV, and... no telemetry (I'm still in disbelief that a sim racer doesn't have telemetry!).

Fortunately, I'm preoccupied with FIFA 17. Eagerly curious what is in patch 1.09.

Actually not. Driveclub only records 15 minutes. If you race longer than that, the game wont record it. Driveclub uses the 15 minutes of the share mode. Pretty intelligent.

Cant tell. I bought the game a year after. When i bought it i have to say it was 100% playable except for one time i entered in pit to put new tyres. And when i was going to get out, the car crashed against the wall and it stuck there for the rest of the race (this process is automatic). But except from that, the game was in good condition.

I have to say it is not the most complete career mode i have seen. But I really like it. It offers you the possibility of driving many cars in an ascendant way with diferent type of races.

Dont know why i see many people saying it is suicidal. Im not agree with that at all. I play in difficult and they are very clean. Maybe things change in superior difficulties.

You can use DLC online. Dont know why you are saying you cant, when there are many lobbies with the japanesse pack and the prestige pack.

Online is far from empty for me. I have an average of 10-20 lobbies with 40-50 people. But i know from people that have much less. Even many times they have no one online. Maybe i got lucky.

Ah that's actually pretty clever work by Evolution. I found the camera angles they chose pretty poor generally though, but 15 mins was just about enough as I was only really doing 4 lap quick races every time.

Yes, indeed. Though need to rely on PS4 recording.

Wow 40-50 people? last time i tried it it topped at 12 people in EU region. Still painfullly low.

I no longer buy the argument that patch releases on console are unpredictable for the developers. They wouldn't announce PPV1 for Tuesday if they had no idea when the update would arrive. Just release it already.

Well, I bought AC last night for £23.99 with a free trial of PS Plus. I downloaded it over night, & I'm gonna need to dust off my Playseat in order to try it out sometime in the not too distant future. I also bought DiRT Rally for £15.99 with the Black Friday 70% off deal. I'm a happy chappy today!

Yes I bought DiRT Rally last night as well, not played it yet but surely will be totally worth the money. Not played a rally game for quite some time, looking forward to it.

Hopefully it doesn't squeak like mine did. What a pain it was getting into those springs on the sides of the seat. More so the lower rear.

Mine did squeak, until I took it apart & oiled the springs with some 3 in 1.

I don't know if it's common knowledge or not but I'll share an observation I just made a few minutes ago.

I've read of people complaining about a sound bug but had never heard it. I now know why: this bug is not present when using the dash cam but is when using the cockpit cam. I usually use the dash cam...

I was driving an Abarth 500 AC at Imola.
