I can give you my impression of the Cayenne Turbo S. My driver can't. That's because he's dead. He went into a guardrail on the Nordschleife and that was that... :D

Seriously...This thing is heavy. It's going to take some earlier braking for sure. But, it is FAST! Geez. To be honest, this thing is pretty well planted. I lost a little bit of control a few times, like flying toward Aremberg. I'm driving with ABS on -- foot went to the floor and I just did a handful of short counter steers one after another and she got back into shape - made the corner just fine.

This isn't going to be the most popular vehicle in Assetto Corsa, however, I could see some fun races against the Maserati Levante. Hey, I'm just really happy you guys at least have a date for the next update & PP1. If Stefano is really able to get you guys onto the same code base, that will be pretty cool. Of course, it doesn't mean you'll have all the same options yet...but I think next Tuesday will be a much better console version than it is currently. Hang in there guys... 👍

The "authorities" are probably silly enough to not release the update before Tuesday. God forbid that players get to enjoy the Panamera before PPV1 is available. I hope this won't be the case.

Hi guy's!

Some questions more came to my mind and asked them directly to Stefano Casillo in the official forums.. maybe interesting information for some of us..
Really appreciate that devs take a time to reply to their customers..

Im going to perform as devil's advocate :D In that quote Marco is not saying that all the PC content is going to be on consoles. He is saying that they are gonna work hard to make it possible.

Although is undeniable that there have been serious problems of planification on Kunos team about the console release (two delays and now this).

Twisting words won't cut it.

Here's another interview, from RaceDepartment:

RaceDepartment: Will both PC and console versions be largely the same or do you expect each to have a different feel / content / experience than the original PC edition?

Marco Massarutto: Except for the user interface, content is the same for all versions, as well as the features and driving feeling. Like any other game available both on PC and consoles, of course on Hi-end PCs you can get the best experience possible.
Stefano Casillo: It's the same software, unsurprisingly really, considering the size of the team. The console version has a brand new UI front end. I expect to be nothing less than exactly the same.

I'm sure there are other interviews or videos where they mention pretty much the same.

Honestly, hearing that such simple things - and ones that already are in the PC version - are not planned is utterly disappointing, to say the least.

Im not twisting words. Marco's quote alone doesnt assure that all the versions will be the same.

But that interview does show that they were implying in a clear way that all the versions was going to be the same. So yes, is very close to broken promises.

I've always felt that "features" is used as an ambiguous term. Players usually argue that it covers nearly every interactive element of software, while developers tend to use it to highlight major functionalities. The only thing I'd really like to see not currently on consoles is the option to adjust the surface condition. It would add some much needed variety in the absence of weather, but I'm not sure it qualifies as an actual feature.

Yeah... :grumpy:

I wonder why... I loved photo mode so much on a lesser system such as the PS3 for GT5/6.

I'm thinking it could have something to do with the highly varied detail levels between older and newer models. Photos would only expose these differences. Of course, this wasn't a major concern in Polyphony Digital's recent games on PS3, but maybe Kunos sees things differently. The PC world often seems more forgiving when it comes to video game presentability, whereas the console world is all about visual impact nowadays.

Shame.

No excuses anymore. I hope they'll at least move the console game forward enough signs fast enough for not ruining the game's and software house name....

I think the PC and console markets are compartmentalized enough that nobody on the PC really gets concerned about the console side of things.

"failing" on console for Kunos just means they put all their attention back on PC. Apart from that limiting future licensing options for Kunos (e.g. Lamborghini was licensed after the console release was announced), the PC community probably wouldn't mind.

Sure mate, there's just one problem though, that is people like myself, of the Console community, who bought the game thinking that all these features would be in the game, and those that have bought the season pass too, will mind if the game just goes back to being supported on PC only.........

P.s, any news of this patch showing up? Lol :P

Patience is now tested imo

I feel you... I have the game parked waiting for private lobbies so I guess I was lucky not taking the season pass right away ?

In any case lets see if they will correct themselves

No more money from me Kunos, terrible console players support, lies and broken promises, to bad I can't ask for a refund of my Season Pass.
I have not purchased the season pass for these reasons. (And I want to see 2-3 packs in the PS Store to confirm the season pass does offer actual savings.) I want to see what patch 1.09 brings to console. Then maybe I will purchase the season pass.

I applaud Kunos' desire to bring AC to the console world. I wonder if they stretched themselves too far too soon.

I can only blame myself for the purchase.
Save your money.

Interesting how a few missing features can cause so strong emotions. Fair enough if it means a great deal to some, but it doesn't really take much away from the fact that there aren't many alternatives on the console market for those who can appreciate how AC drives on the track. If you can't, then features are meaningless anyway.

I can totally understand them saying that the console would have the same physics & content as the PC version. But they should have known long ago that it was not going to have the same "features". Or, even to cover their butts they should have said "same physics & content and as many of the same features that we can..." There is not a chance in the world that the Console version is going to have all the built in Apps that we have on PC, for instance. Not a freakin' chance in hell.

So, as developers they should have said, "we can't use the words exactly the same features". They put themselves into this mess regarding the language used pre-launch. If I were a console player and let's say that AC on PS4 runs 100% exactly as well as it does on PC, has the same exact cars too...but if the console version doesn't allow me to move around my driver's view in any direction or change the FoV, I would feel lied to. You know every single PC player in this thread has used that application multiple times on many different cars.

Question for PC players in this thread:

Is it me or does Stefano seem much, much nicer to console players? I haven't seen one F-Bomb...he hasn't called anyone an idiot or moron... Frankly, I find that stuff hilarious when someone asks him a ridiculous question in the Chit Chat forum... Before anyone takes this out of context, it's more like the difference between the way you would talk around your friends versus the way you'd talk around your parents as a teenager, or something like that. He has had some great ones tho. :D
