You've got a wiggley rear!

I'm a Hamster that likes to twerk mate! ;)

Anyone notice how sulky the AI have become now? I keep seeing them parked on the sides not moving, even with damage turned off. Sent a couple there myself too and they just stop. Probably crying inside the car or something. Perhaps the drivers get out and say they've had enough? Occasionally they'll start up again, once the tears have dried.

Are you playing with fuel consumption? Tried it a couple of months ago and the AI went completly bananas.

No, fuel is off. Was only doing 4 lap races to test things out as well. They're still incredibly stupid if you slow down in front of them. They just can't work out how to get round you.

Not liking the sound of that, but nice description mate

The A.I. seem massively better and I think it could be down to something as simple as reducing their steering rate. Previously they'd go from lock to lock in a blink which meant that if you tapped them, they'd steer into you hard. Seems a lot more natural now.

I'm on the phone with Playstation support, the guy I'm talking to has no info on the Porsche Pack Vol. 1 in the US. Will update this post as I progress through this call.

EDIT: Guy is looking for info on the DLC and Publisher. Put on hold right now

EDIT2: Got off the phone with the rep, has no info on release of Porsche Pack, but told me to call publisher 505 Games. This post will still continue.

EDIT3: The Porsche Pack for the US will release tomorrow. At least we have an answer.

Definitely. Plus whatever they tweaked to the race starts has helped as I'm hardly having to restart at all now. Even at Imola. And Monza! They seem to have found some gentlemen to drive their cars now lol

Just took the Moby Dick out for a spin. I'm surprised how little front end grip it has at speeds and how much you need to turn the wheel 💡

  My very first run with the Moby Dick...I'm giving it some good throttle. The first corner comes up I hit the brakes & turn the wheel. Dead straight into the wall!  I was like WTF?! :D I've gotten used to that car now. Remember the brakes need to be warmed up on the 3 older Porsche's to get max performance from them. I hope they gave you a brake temperature app -- should be integrated with the Tire App, I think.

It's epic mate!!! Love it!

Very nice driving! You had a very nice drift at the top of the hill (left hand sweeper). I think it might be called Klostertal or it's right before it. Anyway, you're always carrying mega-speed into that left-hander and my cheeks tighten every time I hit that corner -- I can't tell you how many times I've slid into the guardrail there. You handled it like a champ! 👍

It's also like that on the PC (AI can't pass at times)... I don't use AC for AI racing.

Glad you're enjoying the 911 Carrera S. I like it a lot too. There has been a boatload of discussion on the official forums (PC side) that the Carrera S is too slow/under-powered in the game. Of course, manufacturers like Porsche & BMW have long been known to under-rate their engine output. However, it's strange that the Porsche engineers didn't whisper into Stefano or Aristotelis's ear and say "add 25hp to put it more inline with real world output". I think the main thread that kicked it off was a test with the Corvette Stingray, BMW M4 & Carrera S. Just throwing that out there to see if you guys have any feelings about that topic. See, on the PC side we can pull down developer apps and get 0-60 times... we can get 100kph to 200kph times... we can get all of those crazy types of car magazine performance measurements and the Porsche Carrera S did appear to be a big slower than real life reports.

Also. The older Porsche's in Porsche Pack 1... The Porsche Carrera RSR 3.0, Porsche 917/30 and Porsche 935/78... You may be curious as to the brake behavior when you get out on the track with one of those old dogs. Brake Temperature is activated on those cars, if it's behaving the way it is on PC, so you've got to get a little heat into those brakes for optimum performance. Hear that brake squeal? :D

Hope everyone is having fun...Any questions I'll try my best to answer 'em.

EDIT: Oh, the Final Gear Ratio might be wrong on the Carrera S as well. It's been reported that it is currently set to 3.44 which is the plain Carrera & Carrera Cabriolet FG. The correct FG is 3.59....I'll bring more information regarding that matter as I learn it.

If the Carrera S has 3.44 ( 3.09 with 1.11 constant ratio ) used on the base Carrera, it is wrong indeed, total ratio 3.59 ( 3.09 with 1.16 constant ratio ) is correct for Carrera S. The 7 speed MT gets PTV, while the 7 speed PDK gets PTV+, both has optional active rear wheel steering, and 2 preset PASM damper programmes. The final gear issue might be affecting the Carrera S performance ( less acceleration ). On PC, can you see real time power output of cars ? Porsche underrate the car like BMW did with M4. Here is a dyno sheet for stock 2017 Carrera S, 382 wheel HP, 376 wheel torque on DynoJet, which means about 466HP at the engine. This is still lower than stock 2015 M4 on same Dynojet using only 91 octane fuel, at 421 wheel HP and 410 wheel torque ( 513HP at the engine )

How much (GBP if possible) does the season pass cost again? I'm liking the look of the Porsche pack.
£24.99

I've driven all the cars, except the 917/30 which I crashed instead of drive... I like both Cayman's a lot and the 911 Carrera S. The old school 911 is FUN, and the 935 is interesting.

At the end of my first lap I had to stop and think for a bit.

I'm driving an actual licenced Porsche. On a Playstation console. In a SIM.

I cannot figure out how to make TC adjustments on cars with MGUs. Before the update I could switch between TC settings in the Ferrari FXX K, but now I can only find an MGU setting. The button assignment screen shows all sorts of commands but it's not clear where they are mapped. Maybe the commands are inactive like brake balance +/- is after the update.

Some buttons have 2 actions associated with them. If the car makes use of the MGU stuff, you don't have access to the other associated action, in this case the traction control.

Keyboard support and customisable button configuration can't come too soon.

I can't change brake balance in any car (G29) nor can I alter turbo boost on any car either. ABS and TC change buttons work though.

I have a horn. It activates when I press Up on the Dpad to change the HUD. :banghead:

Sounds like a right mess they've made of controls for consoles. :boggled:

I know this isn't the answer to people's problems. You want to be able to change Brake Bias on the fly in cars that support it, but is there at least a setup option where you could make Brake Bias adjustments before you hit the track? I know that doesn't help the entire situation, but just curious if you've lost the ability completely.

We can still do that in the setup screens. For those of us T300 users wanting to look L/R we've chosen to run with the G29 wheel preset which allows for that but gets rid of brake bias anyway, so we have to choose the lesser of two evils, so to speak.

They should have given us the option of being able to assign buttons to a USB/Bluetooth keyboard, a la Pcars......Hopefully this option will appear in a later patch, it can't be that hard to program seeing the game is from PC in the first place.

I agree, a keyboard would be perfect.

I've been wondering if that's part of the holdup on the Red Pack because of the Ferrari SF15-T.

The Ferrari SF15-T Controls (PC Version):

CTRL+1: MGU-K Regen rate. This is covered by 10 settings (0%-100%).

CTRL+2: MGU-K Deployment profiles:
  • Charging (0)
  • Balanced Low (1)
  • Balanced High (2)
  • Overtake (3)
  • Hotlap (4)
CTRL+3: MGU-H Mode:
  • Motor
  • Battery
CTRL+4: Engine Brake (Range 1-13)

KERS

DRS

I thinks it's very possible we'll be seeing the controls changing each patch to accomodate each car pack, with these complex cars like the Hypercars, the F1 cars, there's not enough buttons on the wheel/pad.....A potentially big problem......They need to get a keyboard working ideally on the console version........

Well, after downloading the patch and getting the Porsche pack, the first thing I did was... try the Alfa GTA.
And the news are good: it's finally possible to drive this car without the sound glitches.

Not sure what's happening with the Panamera from my previous post, but the cars I briefly tested all were OK. Whatever's happening, the good news is that the problematic cars seem to be the exception right now.

@Nielsen I'd be interested to know which cars you found to have the glitch as well. Maybe we could start taking note and make a small list.

EDIT: the sound problems are still there, they only manifest in a different manner.

Moving on, just seeing the Porsche logo on the car selection screen brought a huge smile to my face.

Unfortunately, I only had time to briefly try the Carrera S and the Carrera RSR 3.0, but I was instantly hooked to the RSR. Such a beautiful machine and a pleasure to drive.

A special note as well on the incredible detail on the interiors of these cars. Truly amazing.
More and more, Kunos needs to update the track environments to match the quality of their cars.

I took this screenshot to show the detail in the RSR:

The dust and scratches on those gauges look fantastic.

About the controls, they are all messed up as you're all discussing. For now, I'll stick to the G29 preset and just wait for Kunos to solve this.
It's another one of those stupid decisions/mistakes that hurts them badly, without any need...
But I'm pretty sure correcting this will be in their top priorities and I'm not really worried about that for now.
