Oh dear! Those studpid red arrows are back; when did that happen. Can we turn them off?

It really takes the mick out of it calling the console a Pro.

Simply not true. There are a few games with higher resolution that have slightly better performance on the base PS4, Skyrim for example. But this only applies if you are playing the game in 4K. And yes, Skyrim does native 4K on Pro.

Assetto is a different story, there is no Pro mode, no improvements on resolution or frame rate. This means the game runs exactly as on the base hardware.

PS4 Pro is pretty much an essential purchase if you own a 4K TV. If you dont, you dont reslly need it, at least for AC. But that could change soon with boost mode and a potential official Pro patch. You can be sure that GT Sport, Dirt 4 and PCars 2 will benefit greatly from Pro, so for me, this console will become a great deal for racers, soon. For anybody else, it already is.

Assetto runs worse on the PS4Pro than it does on the standard PS4 as do a few other games.
Not quite, we still cant change our names.

Did you get that from digital foundry? I cant remember them analysing AC on Pro. All Pro games i know who run worse than on the base model are games who recieved a Pro patch and run with higher resolution. So maybe you should post a link to back up that claim.

Seems awfuly clean?

Maybe Kunos have got a contract now with Mr Muscle too!!! :D

My guess is Spa or Nürburgring as well.
They didnt say much in regards to new Tracks besides "Highlands" and Laguna Seca.

It's the Schumacher Esses on Nurb GP. See those red and white barriers between the Armco? They can be seen here on the left side of the screen (just under the red triangle)

And you can see them again here in the picture-in-picture in the upper right of the screen. Looking in the background you see the same trees and sand trap layout as seen in Marco's video.

These Porsche 919 Hybrid's, are they really this crazy fast and grippy? Had driven them offline once then tried it once online last night. Crazy!

They were fun but to be honest it really didn't feel like driving at all. Felt a bit like fantasy driving in that Sebastien Vettel Red Bull Car without feeling 500mph. Crazy speed, crazy power once that battery kicked in. It was also so hard to spin the tyres that I couldn't find a way to switch the traction control off as the MGU Recovery was in its place. It was also so hard to lock the brakes. Felt a bit like F1. Pound really hard then they would lock.

I forgot how gorgeous the sound clunk popping when changing gears. I really never appreciated the speed until the GT2 cars were on the track. Nearly a blur. Crazy.

Another fantastic thing once the race finished that you couldn't appreciate was seeing those other hybrids from in the pits as the others flew over the finish line flying up the hill on the Red Bull Ring. That sound and speed. Was trying to imagine all this at Le Mans.

Impressive how it is identical sounding.

Seems there is too much battery power and lasts far too long in the game?

No kidding!! Geez...I stared at that thing for a few minutes and I couldn't come up with anything. :boggled: :embarrassed:

I hope with more Crew at Kunos we get more Tracks in the Future.

Well, let's hope that they do hire more employees first. :D I don't think the main problem for Kunos being able to add more tracks is a shortage of 3D & 2D digital artists. Cash. Those pesky track owners tend to want money for the licensing of their race tracks. My dream scenario would be for at least one additional programmer working on the PC version of Assetto Corsa along with Stefano. Let Stefano be free to develop...add new features and direct the console team(s). Our hypothetical new programmer could then optimize, fix bugs & expand upon what already exists.

In another thread I mentioned that the new programmer could work on the AI system as one of his/her tasks. It's a working system, but we all know there are many flaws. That's just a possibility. Also, we often credit Aristotelis with being "the physics guy" and he is, but he isn't completely alone, as far as I understand things. Stefano also works on the physics with Aris. If Kunos is putting all vehicles onto Tire Model 10, that is a lot of tedious work. I know there are a few modders reading this right now who have been experimenting with V10 tires and they'll tell you that it's a fair amount of work. Only 3 new properties have been added to TM10 from TM7, however, when you compare any car that is currently on TM10 with the TM7 tires they used to run, a lot of the parameters have been changed. They aren't just carried over. You can't just open up tyres.ini and add the 3 new parameters and fiddle with only those if you want good tires.

And then, of course, all of this will filter into the console versions of the game and we can all be happy. :)

I'm pretty good at identifying tracks from little snippits. At least the popular tracks anyway, or ones that I've done a lot of virtual miles on. :)
I have a great test for you and anyone who want to test their skills on spotting tracks.

On most of them I can't really see enough of the track to make a guess.

God damnit Sony! 1 hour still isn't long enough for the slower cars of 10 laps on Brands Hatch. Cut off the start to the first corner. :/

Hmm, its jumbled the recording to a previous clip. O_o

Bit of a disappointment. At nordschleife, in the group a touring cars. Get a little bored after 3 or 4 laps, so I decide to slow down to about 40 mph for a few miles. NO ONE PASSED ME. I had 6 cars behind me for miles, just following me. Looked like a caution lap or something. I know they may not be designed to pass at that low of speeds, but this just looked terrible. Kinda funny watching them try to overtake, then freak out and blink the brakes.

I think the non-contact radius box thing around the AI cars is far too big and makes them not want to get to close and therefore not overtake. They do it to each other as well. It's the one major AI tweak I'd like to see.
