Did Marco reveal all seven cars for the next DLC?

I would prefer if they had opted for both race car and road car versions. In my opinion it would add more balance and the road-going TT would be fun to compare against cars like the Porsche Cayman and Alfa Romeo 4C. So far I like the Cup version quite a bit whereas the VLN version feels like a very agile tank lacking somewhat in the fun department.

Ooo... The Giulia Quadrifoglio. For that car alone, I'd get the DLC. One passed me while I was on my way to work... And by passed me, I meant screamed by my car doing at least 40MPH above the posted. WOW! That is one awesome sounding V6! I want one.

When is this DLC supposed to hit consoles?
 
I hope preliminary planning is underway for a successor to Assetto Corsa...hopefully it's AC2 (another motorsport simulator). It wouldn't have made any sense (the Digital Bros. purchase of Kunos) if Marco & Stefano were ready to call it a day and become beach bums, or even go into a different direction, like watercraft boat racing or something other than car racing.

Also I hope there is no more license seeking for more cars or manufacturers for Assetto Corsa 1. We have an excellent selection of cars. Unfortunately, many of them don't have a direct competitor, but now is not the time to remedy that. AC2 is. On the official website is a posting for Sr & Jr level C++ developers as well as web developers, so that is very encouraging.

The dark overlords of Digital Bros. are going to want to see good return on their investment. A couple of DLC packs for a 3-4 year old sim won't even cover their overhead. Whatever is going on, console users will be lucky to have one core Assetto Corsa 2 of which each branch: PS4, XBone & PC are developed in harmony - not slapping bandaids on code to get something working because it was never designed to work on PS4/XBone hardware.
Well Stefano discussed this, he said that AC wasn't planned with porting in mind. But the next project would be ported in the same branch along side PC development.

No need to get the DLC for that car alone as it's all free.

Adding the Pagani BC was a good move as the car model won't take long to do as they already have the base model. They should do the 458 Speciale too.

Usually, with those track-focused variants, there's more than meets the eye and this seems to be the case for the BC as well.

I certainly hope not. I’m new to Assetto corsa and only brought the Prestige Edition on PS4 yesterday for £15 from Base.

Was wondering. Does anyone have any tips for newcomers to AC? Unfortunately I don’t have a wheel at the moment although am saving up for a T300.
Are there any settings/tweaks that might help for using a DS4 controller in the meantime?

May seem strange but I decided to give AC a go on the back of Project Cars 2. Think I was curious as to how they compared and do keep seeing AC on sale a fair bit so finally bit the bullet on it yesterday.
I am enjoying PC2 even with a controller but have noticed a fair few bugs. Think another reason why I decided to give AC a go was where it’s been out a while and has had multiple patches and bug fixes.

How does AC in its current state compare to when it was first released on PS4?

Why? Dev's not developing - even though they still are, or PC2 and soon GTS?

If it's the latter. There is no rule I know of that prevents you from playing a game you already have just because you've bought a new one.

My controller settings:

Steering speed: 12%
Everything else: 0%
Steering gamma: 3.0

Works best in the dashboard view where the animated wheels isn't visible. Maybe you will find these settings horrible, but this configuration is working for me after having tried so many.
 
Project Cars 2 may be a better all around game, but I doesn't drive as well as Assetto Corsa and it's full of bugs! Personally I prefer Assetto Corsa still at the moment, I've never played a game that feels as good as it does!

definitely making me feel like I’ve made a good purchase that people are preferring AC over PC2. Even though PC2 has so much in the way of content, from the sounds of it AC offers a far better playing experience at this moment in time.
Hopefully once some patches have been released for PC2 on the PS4 it will be a great game, potential is definitely there, Just a fair few bugs holding it back right now.
 
I'm having a blast comparing the same cars and track combos between pCARS2 and AC.
Nothing beats the feel of AC on consoles IMO. The driving is just so good. What a gem this game is.

Do wonder how companies code these cars, do they have access to the real cars to make them as authentic as possible? Or do they base their versions from video footage? Sorry if this is a stupid question, am just curious as to how you authentically simulate a particular car and model

Depends what you mean by dead and hurried? Lobbies are still as active as they were a month ago. Offline is better than a month ago. No reason one can't play both as they offer different things.

My tips are. If you play with chase cam, create your own with cockpit adjustments as default chase cam is terrible. If you drive cockpit view with steering wheel shown, change steering animation to around 240-340° in video settings.

Ill post a pic of my DS4 settings later. But my tip is to try whichever settings on a few cars before you move on to new settings, unless you just really don't like the settings.

Kunos have access to the cars, and/or access to data ( or ball park figures if its sensitive data like the SF70H F1). Kunos also have their HQ at the Vallalunga race track.

Which leads me to my next tip. Search "Gama&track" channel on YouTube. Aris who does the physics for AC has some tutorial videos on basic driving tips, and tuning. He also has some AC to real life comparison vids. The tuts are well worth a watch as he makes it easy to understand.

Wasn’t sure when it came to access to the cars, especially with some of the older vintage cars, but that’s very cool that they do, or where possible.

If you watched the interview with Stefano you'd know that Kunos's goal is to have the console version and the PC version on the same footing, so console users won't feel like they're getting shafted when the PC receives updates. He also mentioned that this 70th Anniversary DLC should be available for consoles quite soon.

Not a stupid question at all. The cars in Assetto Corsa have come from a variety of ways. Kunos has actually purchased mod cars created by regular players like you and I and then added them to the official game free for all AC players. I believe the vast majority of car models are now handled in-house by Kunos's own 3D artists. In the early days, I know they contracted some cars & Zandvoort from 'professional' modding groups. That's the easy part - getting a 3D model that's almost indistinguishable from the real car.

Kunos works with the car companies represented in the game. Some companies give more data than others. Some companies have allowed Kunos developers the opportunity to drive the cars that they're currently building for the sim. This way they can compare the real & digital car by feel. Kunos's original office space was on Vallelunga race track. That's a huge advantage when it came to driving the real cars for real world performance numbers. Plus, they take many, many different audio recordings of the vehicle. Recordings on the inside of the car as it's flying down a race track at 100+mph and recording sounds on the outside of the car.

Back to the data...the physics of these cars. A lot of information can be found with a 5 minute Google search, so there is always a fair amount of data that these companies are willing to provide Kunos. After all, if Chevrolet is going to have a new Corvette Stingray in Assetto Corsa, they want it to perform as close as possible to the real C7 Vette. I know when Porsche approached Kunos (at least 2 years ago), Porsche engineers sat down with Aristotelis & Stefano to make sure Kunos was building as true a 911/Cayman/918 etc. as they could. They really try to make this digital versions of cars super accurate for the physics engine of the sim. That means, Kunos has to make the car the proper length, height, width, weight, place the fuel tank in the proper location, etc. There is a lot of data regarding aero dynamics, the suspension system, the drivetrain. Kunos tries to leave no stone unturned. We're talking about programming in how many milliseconds it takes for a Gallardo Superleggera to downshift...and to upshift...and how long should fuel cutoff during those shifts. There are hundreds of parameters that go into making cars in AC. I'm sure this is true of all the major racing titles.

Sometimes older cars are trickier because, well, because they're old! Companies still want their products well represented in AC, but they're not going to send an engineer to Vallelunga to work with Aristotelis on the Alfa Romeo GTA. With the internet (email and the ability to transmit files in seconds) it's not always a huge deal if they can't get an actual model of a car in their hands to thrash around Vallelunga.

I'm sure I've glossed over a lot of things, but for the most part - that's how it's done.

Using the settings I posted, just remember to be relatively careful with your steering inputs. Pushing the directional stick all the way to the left or right corresponds to full rotation on a steering wheel. The sound of the front wheels skidding indicates when you are at the edge of traction, so think about that when applying steering input on the directional stick. You don't want to go full lock at every turn.

I’m guessing it would be a similar process for SMS with Project Cars too? Although perhaps slightly less in depth with the sheer amount of cars they have to model.

Definitely need a wheel as soon as I can afford one, the controller is definitely not ideal but will have to make do for the time being

I think it's hard to draw a comparison to DiRT Rally since car handling on loose surfaces is so different. I have no experience with Project CARS. But give the configurations shared in here a try and proceed from there.
 
This is a nice combo, really like this Beamer. Driving road cars or road based race cars on this track really gives me a feel for the car, it feels like a habitat where most road cars would really be in the real world with it's short stretches of full throttle.

This Lotus is great too, handles so perfectly and sounds nice. Had a couple of nice races with these combos. Will try setting this up as an online lobby and see how many survive the first corner.

Many many thanks for the settings tips. Can’t wait to give them a go. Hopefully the postman will post the game Monday morning as I have a few spare hours to kill before work in the afternoon.

There's quite a few little tips here and there that need to be picked up. Like when selecting TC setting on GT3 cars ( or any car), the lowest number is the strongest. So if you turn TC off then on, you can switch straight back to the strongest. I believe that's how it is in the real world, which makes sense.

Also to make myself clear, I didn't mean that I'm gonna stop playing the game! Actually playing PC2 more and more made me appreciate and love AC more and more! PC2 is definitely the better GAME overall and simulates weather and stuff, but not driving experience and physics as AC! AC feel is unrivaled!
I asked if AC is dead on consoles because I think most people will find the jewel they were looking for in PC2 and stop playing AC; ESPECIALLY online! More features, more tracks, more cars, online system to filter unclean drivers, weather and livetrack, day and night, etc...
I can't deny that I'm loving it too!

If I'm asked now to chose one, I think it'll be hard to chose! Both are great in some areas and weak in others!

Well, people should be excited by PCars 2. It's the brand new game available. And I'm sure when AC 2 comes out lots of PCars fans will jump over to play AC2.
