Nah not stupid really. The 458 is really Good to drive. The BMW E30 M3 DTM is awesome too. I like to test road cars on Highlands short and either of the other 2 variations ( not drift layout). So many good cars really.

Wow, lancia, you want to talk about coincidence? When I took the Italia out it was in the Higlands. Like spitfire I am into GTS right now, but I love scooting over and driving/racing for pleasure in AC.

Without the patches and updates I probably wouldn't have even picked this up, though. I know people speculate about AC2, but I just don't see that until two or three years after launch.

...would love a PSRV patch, though!

"Added support for Ferrari Pack", that's all It says.

Did you check the game's update history in the PS4 main menu? It sometimes holds more details that the in-game news section. I really hope the update fixes the issue where cars don't always exit the pits at full speed because it's annoying, and the PC version recently received that fix...

Yes, that's where I checked the changelog.

Ok. Someone over on the official forum talks about the Ferrari 488 being patched, so I guess that leaves tiny hope for some undocumented stuff. Does anyone know what was wrong with the 488?

Edit: I just read that the Ferrari 488 previously suffered from incorrect interior colors depending on chosen livery.

The update on PC that came with the Ferrari pack only brought stuff for modders, so for consoles it should bring nothing new, unless there are specific console fixes that have been looked at.

Looking forward to these as I have enjoyed watching Shaun and the guys over at the Simpit race on Thursdays and Fridays (Wednesday set-up) with the Ferrari's in the PC version.

They usually start on those days 6 pm PST.

GMT? Don't ask me...what is that? I think 2100?

I feel highlands is the best place for road cars. Also I think everyone has the same suspicion as to when AC2 will arrive. Two years being optimistic possibly, 3 years seams reasonable.

We didn't get wind speed option in the last update. A couple other things too.

That's not true. Read this: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...errari-70th-anniversary-pack-available.47237/

Consoles apparently got none of the fixes listed there, if the non-existent patch notes are to be believed, and I can confirm that the pit exit AI throttle bug isn't fixed on PS4. I just tested the update and it's pretty much the same old bugs. Very off-putting.

Stefano recently said (within the last month or so) that they are very, very close to getting all three platforms on the same base.

I wonder what "base" entails. Anyway, it seems that version 1.16 on consoles wasn't the update to bring this.

I wouldn't be surprised if the update that comes after the Tuesday update is the one that gets us all on the same page. That's just a personal opinion - I have no evidence to prove it.

I really hope you are right. This Ferrari update suggests they wanted to bring the DLC cars to consoles as soon as possible.

I don't remember exactly what the deal was for providing a different gearset AND a different final gear. Me, I always stick with the stock transmission.

Are you referring to Ferrari in 1984 or implying Kunos added a feature not on the real car?

Well the last update for PC on the attached was Oct 4th. If I remember correctly, we got confirmation that the update had gone into submission on the 19th. So that would be a 2 week gap for Kunos to add the changes detailed, so they might have made it in. We'll find out tomorrow anyway [fingers crossed]

The update was released today.

Edit: On that note, doesn't DLC usually appear in the store after midnight in the various PSN regions? I'd like to try some of these cars before going to sleep.

Reading the last page or so isn't super encouraging, but how's this game on consoles these days, specifically PS4 Pro? I've got a gaming PC that is more than capable of running Assetto Corsa very well (and have done so as recently as a year ago), but there's something to be said for the (relative) simplicity of consoles. I'll drag out my gaming PC if I have to, but really hoping for a halfway decent experience on the PS4 Pro.

The game on standard console is buggy, button mapping broken and bugs rotation of the G29, sound problems, personalised Championships broken that loose progess and / or change position in table, framerate stuttering.... Track temperatures buged in online, type of tarmac doesn't work in online correctly...

And you have less features and options in consoles

On PS4 Pro, with "boost mode enabled" you will avoid the stuttering, for the rest the same because the game didn't receive an specific "pro update".

So resumed...if you got a PC that runs assetto corsa don't move to consoles.

Great summary, thanks. Appreciate the insight!

I have logged a ticket against the G29 rotation bug. I hope this is fixed in 1.16.

What exactly is this bug, how does it occour?

Not played much AC you see.

👍

@VBR
In AC on the ps4 I have the problem that whenever I create a custom wheel profile, cars with only 360-500 degrees wheel rotation become too twitch to drive. If for example I use the new Ferrari F1 car and move my steering wheel 90 degrees, then on screen it turns 180 degrees. As you can imagine this makes the steering quite twitchy. Not that using car like the Mazda RX7 does not has thiw weird behavior: my turning angle on the Logitech G25 do match the steering wheel action on screen.

Solution is to quit the game and restart it. Then select the G29 profile in AC and do not make changes or create another wheel profile.

Steps to reproduce:
1 Start AC with your Logitech (in my case G25) wheel connected.
2 Create a custom profile.
3 Take one of the two modern F1 Ferrari's (any other race car that has will do).
4 Start a practice session.
5 Turn your wheel 90 degrees. The wheel on screen will turn 180 degrees, as do the physics.
6 To solve this, restart AC and do not change the default G29 profile :(

So yes, there's a work around, but I hope this gets fixed in when we get the Ferrari pack on Ps4.

BTW, I switched from AC on pc to AC on ps4; I am familiar with how it should work.

It's not the nightmare he is making it out to be. Sound problems? The music plays through one speaker through headphones in the menu, not an issue that affects game play in anyway. Reverb has been disabled on PS4, no big issue. I experience little to no stuttering. I have had zero issues with championships bar once at the start.. Granted the G29 might be an issue. As you can see from this thread, plenty of people play it gladly. Expecting a bug free game ( software rather ) is utopia. That's probably why bugs never bother me much unless they make the game unplayable.

Yup, no reverbs and IU sound not fixed since the 1.01 version..
In game there are minor issues in sounds.

The customised Championships have problems, you can find information in the support forum.

The G29 have rotation problems quite more than 6 months now...
Did forget to mention the new fanatec CSL elite racing wheel, that have 3 updates already problems with buttons that doesn't work ingame.

I have stuttering in Barcelona and nurburgring layouts even doing hotlapping if i take damage, in race above 10 cars on track its stuttering on all tracks, playable, yes, but annoying.
At least in PS4 Pro with "boost mode" you can get rid of the problem and sure will make the game more enjoyable.

The missing options and features are a fact.

Nobody expect a 100% bugfree experience, i wasn't even talking about texture issue's for example.
Yes,it has a great driving and FFB (better be with trusthmaster)
But support is much better in PC version and their users got quite more feedback on the official forums..and that is more than a visible fact.

Like the user that asked about the console version, he got a PC running Assetto good enough, so he better should stay on PC version, more options, more features, better dev feedback and support and they fix things faster and better.

I really like assetto, but it has his problems and i don't deny them

Even after the very good pc2, I still have my enjoyable moments in AC on ps4. It's just really good.
Doesn't sound horrible. I loved AC immensely when I was really into it a year or so ago, so I can probably put up with a few quirks on console for the sake of simplicity. Honestly, I just looked and I can pick it up for $25 from Amazon. I think it's worth $25 to give it a shot and see what I think.

I do have a CSL Elite PS4 on it's way to me right now. Can you elaborate on this just a bit?

I'm aware of people having championship issues. I'm just not having any myself, I only has an issue when it came out (can't even remember what it was now), I have multiple championships on the go with no issue.

Can't comment on wheel issues, though I'm aware of them.

Also. You reminded me, yes I have stuttering too when I take damage, odd as they fixed it at one point. That is the only time I have noticable stuttering.

I didn't say anything about missing features. And yes the game has some issues, but you do make it sound like a nightmare. The poster you replied to I'm sure is fully aware it is better on PC than console, he/she even said they are hoping for a halfway decent experience. Which is what they will get, then some. So there's no need to stay on PC if the person is not getting it out much due to not having the simplicity of console.

on the UK PSN it is £25, was £11 a few months ago. Might be worth waiting in till the next sale comes in to see if AC is in there. I believe you can't map TC or ABS to hybrid cars on the CSL.
