Any particular reason why the basic game is only £30 and the special edition only £37? Not knocking it, just odd as to why its a lot cheaper at release than pretty much any game?
Crazy good value, give it 2 weeks after release and it'll be £15 secondhand, would make my PCars special edition for £20 2 weeks after release look over priced..lol.
I only paid $23 for the game on Steam. Best bargain I've ever had on a video game.

Unfortunate if it turns out the game is delayed again. Outside of Forza it's getting to be a bit of a trend:lol::mad:

It's more than one website now... The news of the delay is in expansion..
I'm going to wait in this from 505 Games or KS, as right now no press release in it seems to exist and as far as I can see no website is linking to one.

Not saying its not real, but right now its got noting to support it.

Assuming that Assetto Corsa is delayed again I have to say I am not remotely surprised. Just 4 weeks from launch and there is not a sign of new screenshots, footage or any previews. That absence of activity speaks volumes.

I am really excited to get my grubby mitts on Assetto Corsa and while another delay is hugely disappointing it will make for a better experience in the end. Better to delay than release unfinished as is increasingly becoming the routine these days. These rumours of delays are usually correct and will likely be confirmed tomorrow.

Prove me wrong Kunos...

:(

Just please 1 developer, put out a game without a freaking patch. Take your sweet arse time.

Right so I have confirmation from multiple devs.

They are in the grinding phase currently of getting rid of platform exclusive bugs and optimization.

I'd cut them major slack here, having dealt with this crap before i can tell you its the worst part of programming, or developing, of existing, its hell, it sucks away all your motivation and burns you the hell out. Workk ethics go straight out the window here, ive seen it in teams ive worked with, ive seen it in class, in a smaller scale ive experienced it.

The problem with testing is that you dont know how many bugs will appear, how hard they will be to solve etc etc which causes anxiety which further reduces work ethic because you are ironically worried about how much time you have left.

I have no doubt that this is due to the bug fixing grind

Nothing about a delay on official social media and Amazon has it at June 2nd so just 4 weeks to go. The game will probably become popular through word of mouth, I like that it's also cheaper than your average game. Considering the lack of content compared to Forza for example is reasonable though

Its all well and good defending this by saying developing games is a tough job, but for the love of God don't give us release dates till you pretty much know your on top of the issues.... is it that hard just to be open and honest?
Clearly AC is well off being finished game on console so they only have themselves to blame if the proverbial hits the fan...

And anyone thinking they are delaying it to improve the experience.... hmmmm, how'd that go with PCars?

The thing you should know about devs whether its in games, or medicine, or sports or farming is that if there is any level complexity then you are never on top of your issues so dates are predictions, AAA companies that realise they dont have enough time will hire contract workers, some will delay it but thats not good for their image. Kunos cant afford to splash out on contractors.

Well im chalking it up to inexperience and my bias of also being a developer, while for example pcars had a terrible launch its understandable that things like that happen and gaming communities are out right the worst communities in the world when it comes to motivation and other crap in most cases. Im getting off topic, you are free to think what you want, for the record AC would be in a much better state then pcars was at launch according to kunos but thats still not acceptable unless you are in the medicine industry where nothing actually works ever.

Just let them finish the game. Since it is a small developer I have no issue with the delay. The only fear I have for them is that we are in the middle of "Gran Turismo Sport Something". If the BETA releases before Assetto Corsa comes out they could lose a few potential buyers. That is if GT Sport delivers of course.

AC chance is that they are highly praised for their driving and physics model. Also cars and tracks are very decent. I hope it is enough for them to establish themselves on the console market!

There's really no reason to obsessively narrow the field to a Project Cars comparison. There are so many parameters infinitely more applicable to completing a piece of software than the aspects that Project Cars and Assetto Corsa happen to cross over in.

"The sky is falling coz Project Cars" attitude is very juvenile, short sighted, and unfortunately..... prevalent.

I think in light of what happened with the PCars launch you'd think they would of tried to make sure they didn't over reach themselves and set unrealistic release dates. Its quite simple DON'T SAY IT'S READY TILL ITS PRETTY MUCH READY. Regardless of how hard it is to develop games don;t make it even harder by saying it'll be ready ready when clearly its not. Otherwise some will start to suspect that these release dates were put out just to gain some publicity knowing full well it would be delayed....
Its a game and there's plenty of games around to play so its not an issue other than for me just why even bother saying it anywhere close to ready, it helps no one.

If that was the case 90% of AAA games and damn near 100% of indie titles would released a week after announcement of a release date

Exactly, it doesn't make it right.
Anyway its now on Amazon as 30th Aug so its official...... its a shame, a real shame, i'm allowed to be a bit cheesed off in a gaming context surely? People should allow people to express annoyance that they now have to wait.
Plenty in DiRT and PCars still to enjoy, just lost all my Forza 6 save data so that now means i may just sink back into that eventually till Aug...

personally i prefer the "surprise motherflipper" moments compared to being told A game or B game is coming half a year from now. Majority of the JRPGs coming to pc are doing that and its great though Barclays are pretty pissed off with my spending

Mmmmm no...since GT6 Kazonuri lost a user and fan (me):D
I've just seen better simulation games, with better quality and don't stop support of their games without saying anything..

Just don't care if GT Sport comes in 2016,2017 or don't comes at all..don't gonna buy it

Biggest winner is SMS, firstly it doesn't make their launch look abnormal now, and secondly they release PCars GOTY today, anyone who was thinking of waiting for AC having not picked up PCars yet will surely now just get PCars...
From a political gaming context it would of really done Kunos the world of good to of not had delays, they could of really stole a march on SMS in the perception stakes.
I'd wager a Christmas release now and certainly for I'll not go near this game (AC) till i get some balanced reviews, I so nearly pre ordered it yesterday as it was cheap but for sure I'm not now.

Could someone tell me, when devs get pre orders they get paid for them right?

I don't think you can compare pCARS delays with AC delays just like that. pCARS was crowdfunded and had a lot more people working on the game and testing the game as well. AC is done by a much smaller team. I agree however that several games can profit from AC's delay. Wanted to pre-order it as well but I'll wait now until it is actually released and will decide then.

Agreed.
I'm over it already, I just wanted to be able to be a bit annoyed in a purely game context, there are more important things in life but by playing games that's what i'm trying to escape albeit for just a few odd hours of a day/evening.....:D
Plenty of great games to play and it's UK summer now so more time outside hopefully anyway. Certainly not pining my hopes on AC being anything other than another "AC 2 will be the game we wanted to make"

I don't think they get paid for getting pre orders, not in physical editions.

And, maybe SMS wins..or not, most people got the standard edition and there's a DLC pack also with all the DLC launched for the standard edition at 29'99€.

I've pre ordered my assetto corsa prestige edition two months ago, and i really don't care if i got to await a couple of months more..

I've played the original one in PC and the simulation level is amazing, the feedback to the users on the official forums are really good. Comparing bugs and issues with Project C.A.R.S is an epic win for AC also.

That 27 person's are capable to make this work is amazing and for sure other companies like PD,turn 10 or even SMS can learn about them.

Stefano said in January that the PS4 version was practically finished, but they got stability problems with the Xbox One version.
One month after that, on the first delay they said it was for cleaning some bugs..
The second delay is sure that it will be for optimization of the consoles ports.

If the game comes with the physics and FFB and quality like the original one of PC it will be just superb.

I'm fine with the delay as long as it makes the game better, but it still hurts to put aside the hype for now. Don't ask me why but the recent 1.5 update gave me the impression that all versions were shaping up nicely in tandem. There may be some truth to that but I didn't expect them to struggle with development at this point. Meanwhile, silence this close to June 3rd was weird.

While Project CARS has improved since launch, I hear that the game hasn't redeemed itself as much as it should. The delay of Assetto Corsa isn't enough to make me forget that while SMS releases a shiny new bundle.

As I've said to my staff brethren: I'm sorry guys. I'm just as excited for you guys to play something I've enjoyed to no end for a while now, as you are to buy it and do the same.

This is the thing I'm excited to see what all the hype is about regards FFB mainly, thinking that moment was under a month away was cool... oh well.
In fairness Kunos are a genuine small new developer, SMS say they are when it suits but then suddenly Ian will be saying how Shift sold 9 million copies... got to love the guy..
