Well, I seemed to have noticed the exact same kind of exhaust flash effect in the two games. Both games seem to have the "trans whine" sound too loud and there's not much depth or detail to be found as the engine revs higher or decelerates. It's quite generic for the race cars - they all sound too similar which is also something people complain about on the PCARS forum.
I don't know about the exhausts I never paid attention, but the race cars don't all sound the same, not even close to the same. Unless of course they are sharing an engine configuration and sound similar in real life anyway. Trans whine is very loud in race cars, do you have any examples of game cars vs. real life cars for comparison? I find the opposite to be true in many cases, it isn't loud enough. For example, the BMW Z4 GT3 is much, much louder in real life:

I apologize, I could not find the info in regards to wheels.

Is a list of compatible wheels available somewhere?

Thanks gents,

Hi Boston!

This is from an older Eurogamer article...

"Eurogamer: When only Thrustmaster has marketed a steering wheel officially supported for PS4. This limitation is affecting the development of your relationship with the manufacturers of devices will lead to a widening of the catalog supported for both platforms thanks to Assetto Corsa?

Marco Massarutto: Other manufacturers are working in this direction, we are in good terms both with Thrustmaster, as with Fanatec and we are working with them for some time already in the way, and recently also with Logitech. At launch, Assetto Corsa on PS4 / XB1 will be perfectly compatible with a large number of devices driving although in reality, it is thanks to the work already done on the PC version. However I can already confirm support for all steering wheels Thrustmaster, Fanatec and Logitech that are (or will be) compatible with PS4 and XB1 when launching the game."

i was talking with one of the devs about this the other day. if the wheel is supported on the console then it will work with AC, its designed so even wheels that dont exist yet will also work with AC

I'm hoping all this means it won't be delayed again then like PCars debacle? I can't remember the PCars launch now as I must of blanked it out my memory... all i can remember is once the delays started I dug out Shift 2 on xbox 360 and had a wonderful time on the revisit, in fact in some ways Shift 2 was the better game...

relax, AC has been delayed by 1.5 months, not 6-7months

Just to add to the above, I've read a reply on the official site.

An answer to a question about the G29

The reply is "yes, all the wheels that are PS4 compatible will work."

That from an AC Support staff member.

While its better then PCARS (which just appears to have a generic V8 sound slapped on and over Bass boosted), its still somewhat lacking abit in comparison to that real life video. Sadly, nobody has nailed the transmission gearwhine that is specific to BMWs only.

(This is actually a BMW 320 GTS, person who put that title has no idea what he is talking about)

Maybe they don't want to damage people's ears?

That noise is pure EVIL!

R3E gets pretty close, but the whine isn't quite loud enough.

As far as I know, there are nine pre-order cars. They're part of the "Prestige Pack" available at Gamestop, Amazon etc. but I still haven't understood if they're going to be available for those who would like to get a digital copy of AC.

The Ferrari 488 GTB, Audi R8 V10 Plus, and Corvette C7 Stingray are included in both the Prestige Pack (selected retailers) and the Performance Pack (digital pre-orders). I wouldn't be surprised if all cars will be available in some way regardless of pre-order bonuses, but that's just a guess until things hopefully become clearer closer to release.

Those 9 pre-order cars will of course be available separately albeit as paid DLC you would assume. It would be ridiculous to develop those gorgeous cars only to restrict them to those 2 pre-order offers.

It would be a great idea for Kunos to update the official website, car & track lists are outdated, only 1 of the Dream Packs is listed under the info tab, console page needs a complete car & track list.

EDIT: AC available for preorder on USA PS Store:

Yeah they said they would the last few times i asked them. it was a problem back when the console announcement came because people thought there were only the cars from the website in the game, there are around triple that count now

That's what I'm hoping for. I'll wait a little more and see if the Prestige edition appears on the PS store. Otherwise I'll be forced to preorder a physical copy at Gamestop, because cars like the GT86 and the R35 Nismo interest me and I don't want to miss out on them.

Any particular reason why the basic game is only £30 and the special edition only £37? Not knocking it, just odd as to why its a lot cheaper at release than pretty much any game?
Crazy good value, give it 2 weeks after release and it'll be £15 secondhand, would make my PCars special edition for £20 2 weeks after release look over priced..lol.

I applaud this pricing strategy if it is based on content. We know the track list is on the shorter side. Definitely can be expanded. There may be other areas of the game that come up short in content.
