I can speak from experience and it handles just fine with a pad. Certainly a lot better than PCARS.My word...is this how the game looks and handles on a pad? Looks dreadful!

Sounds are rather odd in AC, im not sure what they use to record the sounds, you get cars like the Mclaren P1, M4, Yellowbird etc that sounds literally exactly the same as they do in reality(p1 from youtube, other two from actually sitting in them). IMO Forza has a similar problem, some of its sounds are pretty good, others are just flat out horrid. There are rumors that sounds are being re-recorded for all cars that came out before 2015 as they had a different recording method back then which just isnt as good as the current one. In terms of replays AC should be the best out there because fmod supports the doppler effect and wave warping, nothing else supports that, of course the tech can be good but if the recordings such then well its gonna sound bad anyways.
Im glad they didnt go the pcars route and preamp the hell out of it so the sampling sounds like a mess and the low bitrate coming pretty easy to notice.
I quite like the direction of AC's sounds. Unlike a lot of other games it sounds natural and not exaggerated. First time I drove the P1 it was an ear-to-ear grin moment. It's exactly the same as watching Chris Harris' triple hypercar test Some of the slower road cars sounds a bit flat, but maybe that's just how they are in real life. The race cars sound good (C7R is another gem) and none have obvious wrong samples (compare the Sauber C9 to the one in GT for example ).
Sounds are good in AC, but they sound a bit muted in general to me lately. Especially when coming of Raceroom
At least they did get the samples right so all cars sound like their real life counterparts. Not like in PCARS were a lot of the sounds are copy pasted from one car to the next, depending on which engine format it has.
I imagine, then again isn't Raceroom free?RaceRoom looks like a good game indeed, but I think is highly unlikely that it will ever come to consoles, apparently licensing works differently for PC-only games & multi platform games.
Base game is free, car & track packs are paid.I imagine, then again isn't Raceroom free?

The more I see AC videos, the more similarities I see between AC and PCARS.
nothing new to be confirmed there unfortunately. well apart from the price which is £10 cheaper on amazonHas Kunos confirmed Maserati & more real locations to be added to AC next month?
I'm looking at the AC pre-order page on the UK PS Store and it mentions Maserati & 15 real locations:

Imo it would make sense to say "over 90 cars". 114 cars - 20 or so upgraded versions = a little over 90 unique cars.someone at kunos cant count.
currently right now there are 101 cars. with the japanese pack that goes up to 112, launch pack adds five more cars so 117.
pre order dlc takes away 3 cars.
So 114, its over 90 but it would make more sense to just say over 110 cars in the first place.
True, i guess in this case its nice that they didnt pull a forza buy saying they have 460+ cars(actually around 380 unique models) or granturismo which adds an extra 300 or so cars from very minor changes or special paint editions.Imo it would make sense to say "over 90 cars". 114 cars - 20 or so upgraded versions = a little over 90 unique cars.
Their colour palettes are very different so you can't be talking about visual similarity. In what way are they similar? The more I see AC videos, the more similarities I see between AC and PCARS.
Imo which one is better depends on player preference. For people who prefer road cars AC's car selection looks better, for someone like me who prefers race cars and cares more about racing classes than specific cars/makes PCars's car selection is better because it provides more racing classes than AC.AC's car list is very good tbh. It's small but there's a wide variety (better than PCARS).

Yes, fingers crossed that it releases in a state closer to that of Dirt Rally rather than PCars. I'll be looking forward to opinions of AC on PS4 from all the early adopters.
I agree. But then there's the M4 and it's custom exhaust counterpart.AC's car list is very good tbh. It's small but there's a wide variety (better than PCARS). The only padding I feel is from Lotus (so many Elises lol), but it's not even that bad and it's only 1 manufacturer.

As far as I know, there are nine pre-order cars. They're part of the "Prestige Pack" available at Gamestop, Amazon etc. but I still haven't understood if they're going to be available for those who would like to get a digital copy of AC.pre order dlc takes away 3 cars.
