What are the chances that we get another delay?
I would preorder it from PSN but immediate payment is required and it would suck to pay for it and have to wait another 4 months...

what i would do is wait until the end of this month which would mean the game is due in 1 months time. reason being is in a interview the devs said they need 1 month for disc prep and packaging, etc. if you remember the june 9 release, it was like may 10 when we got the official delay info. a good thing is we are actually getting more trailers and release dates at the endof them, unlike back in may.

My personal opinion - out of the box, Project CARS gamepad defaults are horrible. AC is significantly better in that regard. As for loading screens, I'd say they're probably pretty similar to each other...
of course we dont know how those consoles will perform in terms of loading times, remember both use the laptop spec of 2.5inch 5400rpm hdds stock so they are a bit slower than the 7200rpm hdds which are in the common desktop.

People that buy ssds for their consoles will not have any issues though of course.

I've pre ordered it the time it was available on the ps store but they haven't taken any money yet!usually they take the money 2 days before release & the let you pre-load the game!

Wait until the game goes gold, then preorder. Or even a few days away in order to download early. I don't get it when people preorder years away and pay everything up front, just why?

Is there anyone with the update that can do some tests on those changes ? Preferably on road cars+race cars with varied min/max camber/toe alignment, min/max tire pressure, hoping old issues that I have read would be gone with the new fixes.

So far it's looking good :D Hope to get it on PS4.

Change log.
That's it? No tweaks to the simulation value slider? What the hell have they been doing for the last few months?

On a more serious note, reading this quickly on my phone between service calls, there is some absolute gold in there. Looking forward to testing out the potential new physics upgrades just as much as I am looking forward to driving the new cars.

Hey guys, I have a quick question. Do you think I could enjoy this game even if I totally disliked Project Cars? Thanks.

Thanks, I mean: what I totally disliked about PCars is how it gets frustrating playing with joypad. Endless loading screens just to wreck the car at the first turn. I like racing games a lot, but I don't have a wheel (and I don't want it) i like racing games a lot, but in a "console-way".
BTW, it's not realism wich scares me. I'm actually playing Dirt Rally and I love it.

Yeah generally people say the pad defaults are a lot better on AC (haven't tried it myself but that's what I've read many times). The AI is also better, PCARS is too wild and reckless (although fast and challenging), but AC had a lot of improving on their AI lately and it was already better than PCARS version months ago.

So yes loading times might be the same, but restarts won't be :)

I'll be picking this game up on day one and after enjoying pCARS for over a year there's a few questions I have regarding features that I enjoy in pCARS and wondered if AC has them to, such as:

Adjustable FOV
Removeable driver arms/wheel
Repositioning of driver seat
Remapping of buttons on wheel
Adjustable FFB (not to the ridiculous extent of pCARS' multitude of sliders, but something equally as effective but less confusing)
Quick race weekends (practice, qualy etc) with adjustable lap number
Customizable championships (unlikely I think)

There's probably more that'll pop into my head as we approach launch, but if AC offers this lot it'll be awesome to know beforehand.

One last thing: what are the crash physics like? pCARS was quite bad when making contact or when leaving the ground or basically anything generally that wasn't driving lol. From what I've seen so far AC looks better in this regard.

Thanks

On PC at least, AC has all of these except custom championships. No one's sure how they're going to port these to the consoles.

Looking forward to this on PS4, but is there really a reason to own both Project Cars and Assetto Corsa?
Yes. I own both and in the end i sided with AC as i think it's a more polished experience overall than PCARS.
Sounds and AI are better, there's no bugs almost and the FFB isn't an enigma machine which you have to decipher like it is in PCARS.

PCARS takes the win graphically mostly with the circuits and different conditions, but i haven't played it for half a year now due to the above reasons.

As for me, it took me ages to get a decent FFB for Logitech G29 wheel in Assetto Corsa, while it was great out of the box in pCars, so I kinda prefer pCars or RRE. Moreover, the AC UI on PC is horrible, at least in my opinion. But definitely good to own them both, although AC is only my third option.

Half a year?! Wow, AC must be something pretty special, I thought you'd still be playing pCARS. Having said that I can't wait for the PS4 release and as much as pCARS can be a total pain in the backside, I'll miss some of the tracks that aren't featured in AC. But if the physics are better (sounds like they are) and the whole bugfest thing isn't present then that's a real win for me. Also really looking forward to some Lambos, Ferraris and other makes that pCARS missed out on and if the future packs are as good as the Red pack then more good things are still to come.

Yeah but i did optimize my wheel's FFB with the LUT generator, and installed many mods so on console you won't have those options. But yes driving experience-wise it's definitely worth spending 50 bucks on.

Ah yes, the mods sounds great indeed, makes sense. It's retailing for around £30 here in the UK which is a no-brainer.
