Interesting how the controller finished before the wheel.

Roughly 2:26.8 for the controller and 2:27.2 for the wheel.

i'm more concerned with the wobble wobble of the trees caused by tearing. I found this video on Eurogamer. It from May which looks a lot more solid, and is the only console footage I've seen so far which doesn't have any tearing. Hope to see it gone come release.

I think the point is simply to show that the game is playable using the DS4.

Which is actually good news, given the amount of people asking about it.

Except the word "Exclusive" has legal ramifications in advertising if not adhered to.
It means nothing. There were limited edition cars for Forza 3 onwards that were later released for general consumption.
It's happened in other games too.
I'd bet my bottom dollar that the Premium edition cars will be on sale 6-12 months after release.

505 got back to my reply about the amazon and best buy discounts making it massively cheaper than gamestop. amz/bby was roughly 42 and with gamestop it was 58 bare minimum. to get the game on release like amz/bby gamestop would cost 63. the rep said it is more than likely going to be a timed thing and he actually referenced project cars with the limited/modified car packs that both were available after launch after being pre-order exclusives.

Fair play AC is sort of in that rulebreaker situation right now, driving it feels so good but being able to put that feeling into words doesnt go well especially when every racing game calls itself a situation at this point.

If you arent interested then wait for the reviews and if possible try it at a mates house or wherever and then go from there.

You likely will save a bit of money by pre-ordering but its not worth the hassle if you arent sure about it.

Just cancelled my ps4 pre order from amazon, not seeing anything to get me hyped for it...hmmmmm

Why did you pre-order to begin with? Honestly, I'm baffled by the widespread urge to pre-order games still under wraps. Why not save the decision until one or two days in advance? By that time most questions have been answered and no incentives are lost.

I'm kinda on the other side, I don't really see any reason not to. When I was a PS3 player I so desperately wanted an alternative to GT5/6 but despite a the game's flaws nothing else came close to measuring up so I was stuck with it. Even if AC has a few bugs at launch (it's almost a guarantee there will be at least a couple) the game will get fixed and patched and updated. I'd rather get some free cars and live with a few weeks of bug-fixing then wait and end up getting it anyway and then having to pay for the cars.

I'm sure some players are (understandably) hesitant after the PCARS fiasco. But based on Kunos history and dedication I'd expect any problems will be tended to quickly.

Just my opinion of course.

i have a pretty strong opinion about pre-ordering seeing how people have been burned so many times. Sure you have lose a bit of money but its a gamble which may not pay off in the end and back when i could only get two games a year on my PS3 it seriously mattered. I guess that mentality pushed me to think like this. If i was more flexible and just had more money i dont think id be as strict with it.

After GT5 i dont trust anyone with pre-orders, even kunos.

Ok maybe dynasty warriors but they never change anything so if you like hack and slashers you will enjoy it regardless.

Because I love cars games, Got al the gt games, rally games, project cars, forza games etc etc.Ive been car gaming since the early 80s...

And its a cheap game anyway..only £30

..Was thinking yes! cannot wait for this, but the more videos ive seen now, Im just thinking, dosent seem any different from what ive got anyway, and I pre order on amazon like i always do, cos in the past i left it until a few days to go and they never delivered, saying they couldn`t fulfill my order, and was about 4 days after release when they actually sent it..hmm maybe i`ll see how it is when everyones got it..

It's using that horrible temporal anti-aliasing that Pcars had on PS4. Look at all the ghosting in that video, it reminds me of the pre-patched PS4 Pcars. Hopefully Kunos put in the option to disable it, because I hated that in Pcars.

Well, they do all involve driving/racing cars around tracks, so I guess none of them are very different from another in terms of how they look on a video. Which is similar to saying all pizzas taste the same because they pretty much look the same in photos, though we know that not to be the case. What sets AC apart from other car games, especially console car games, is the way it feels to drive and how each car feels totally unique and incredibly detailed. Just like how that fancy Chicago-style pizza joint that imports all of its ingredients from Chicago manages to taste 10x better than the frozen pizza you got at the store even though they look very similar in the adverts.

Seeing as how you love car games I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to finally have a proper sim in your library. If you love driving virtual cars on laser-scanned tracks you'll love it. If you care more about unlocking things and collecting things and getting letters from "racing teams" to advance your virtual career you'll find it a bit lacking, but I'd wager a few laps around the Nords through the morning fog in a BMW E30 will make you forget all that. 👍

I dunno, can't say I've noticed the return of the ghosts, at least not to the extent we had when pCARS first launched. Man, that was awful, wasn't it? Kinda almost forgot about that debacle. Although I'd personally rather have some ghosting than tearing but I can't really see it too much here.

There's quite a lot footage from Jan/Feb online where the tearing looks pretty nasty, but the stuff from the console preview event at Vallelunga looks much better. Lots of Italian sites on YouTube with footage (albeit mostly the same footage). Perhaps they just optimised that one track for the event and have been working on all the others behind the scenes.

I guess the flip side of no AA is nasty jaggies a la Forza 6 which is equally off-putting. Time shall tell!

I'm no video/graphics expert, but are these issues something that could be introduced due to YouTube compression/artifacting?

Marco posted on his FB yesterday a photo of thd 488 GTB using the latest AA and reflections their programmer has been working on which will be included in 1.8.

But that doesn't mean us console folk will see that. AA is always better on PC, but if it helps consoles some way that's great.

Tearing isn't seen on PC footage from YouTube so I think it's just a sorry side effect of hitting 60fps on consoles, although both Forza and even pCARS prove it can be dialled out with enough time/resources. I'm still hopeful purely from the Vallelunga footage.

Well I can't confirm that either way, but I'm positive they will be looking to improve it constantly. All the ps4 videos are gonna be with a build of at least 4 weeks old by the time the game comes out.

It's possible, for sure, but I still wouldn't put too much concern on a YouTube video though. Based on what I know of Kunos they likely won't stand for screen tearing issues and will do their best to eliminate/minimize it if they can. Hopefully they can, I know screen tearing is what made it difficult for me to go back to GT6 after I had moved to PC. When I only played GT6 I rarely noticed the tearing because I was used to it, but after some time on PC with no screen tearing going back to GT6 with all the tearing was like a slap in the face.

Allthough there is a lot to like in this game I have decided I am not going to buy it. At least not as long my manufacturer is not presented. Maybe it is also because I've become older and seem more critical when it comes to racing games. It used to make not a big difference if I drove a Volvo, Maserati, Fiat, Ferrari or Peugeot but since a couple of years it has been making a difference to me and one that became more and more important. I play DRIVECLUB but almost solely with the Peugeot Onyx. Dirt Rally offers a few nice ones as well but I noticed with PCARS for example that after a few weeks I am simply not interested to take a "fill in a random car" for a spin while that game offers imo some very nice racing as well. It would be a waste of money if AC would gather dust after a few weeks as well.

I like racing games but for it to keep me returning to it I want a Peugeot. Maybe it is a stupid way of thinking but with the freetime I have I prefer driving something I like, instead of driving something that doesn't satisfy me. It's like there is always something lacking if it is not Peugeot. My motivation or interest can fade pretty quickly.

So for now I'll read up in here from time to time and I wish you all a hell of a time with AC 👍

Good thing your manufacturer is not Tata. :D

Is renting games still possible? Perhaps when it comes out you could rent it for a few days to see if driving a very detailed Ford Escort 1600 with excellent physics around laser-scanned Spa would give you as much enjoyment as driving a Pug in other games with lesser physics and non-laser-scanned tracks. If not, then save your money. 👍

I don't know who's to decide about the existence (or not) of playable demos, but I'm guessing this game would definitely benefit from having one available.

oh wow, just when I decided to catch up with the latest news about AC, there is a hint of ghosting in AC similar to pre-patched Pcars, the only game ever that made me sick :yuck:
