I don't think I've seen this one posted yet, forgive me if it has. I've only watched a little bit so far but it seems like he's going through all the menus/options and doing some gameplay too. It's not in English so I don't know what he's saying, but based on the title it looks like he was showing things people had requested or had questions about. Skip to 10:35 if you want some Nords action.

One thing I noticed that I'm not sure had been confirmed (though I know it's been discussed) is the inclusion of 1966 Monza Jr. layout. The old version with the oval is in there too. 👍

Edit: Skip to 31:00 if you want to see some homicidal C9's racing on the Monza oval course.

Edit 2: Skip to 1:02:30 for some GT racing at Zandvoort

@neddyie118 yes I had the game on Saturday cause apparently 505 Games sent out the game earlier, from the forum here it was Netherlands, UK and Germany iirc.

And today the Xbox Version got the Day One Patch with 565 MB. The things I mentioned like framerate improvements and the exhaust flames were the most notable things.

Is there any patch notes like in PCars released ?

Yeah I agree I suppose I will just have to wait a bit longer for Thursday midnight to play.

At least it's good to know the Xbox patch has been released:tup:

Don't think so, I've seen other people mention it's out too. They probably just want to make sure it's ready and deployed whenever people start getting their copies so they have it released a couple days early.
Is it possible that that is not actually the day one patch but just a patch for the frame rates and flames? Don't know why but I'm kind of expecting the patch to add something of note.

I watched that this morning, it looked pretty scarey going over the banking in Monza in the C9. I think a lot of people are gonna be in for a treat the firt time they come across that.

No. And we shouldn't get them anyway, cause with Day One Patch this game is now what they are releasing on day one, 99% of the people will have never played the version before the patch.

A patch is a patch, a note to the players is at least what the dev could do to explain what has been improved or added. Not all players will download the D1 patch straight away, some of them don't have fast enough / unlimited data internet ? I still have friends who still need to manage data usage quota and big updates usually need scheduling of when to download.

No clue.

I nearly crapped myself when he first when on it, then I giggled like a little girl.

Day one patches usually reveal what they do with a few notes.

This must be some kind of joke.

I know the fanboysm runs rampant in the assetto corsa fans, but not having private lobbies for X months is something that is a real issues for all that race with their gtplanetv friends online...

Really you guys would be 100% satisfied with good physics and no way to play that good physics online with your friends in a championship?

Everytime I read pbugs in this thread I ask myself if I want to meddle with such childish users >_>

I fear that assetto corsa name will save it from the legitimate critics it may deserve.

Hope people won't be silly like with pcars and start calling it assetto-bugs :D

Week in any case it's just an handful of days now. Plus the months to have private lobbies that is -.-

I know a lot of people might disagree with you on this but i don't. I agree. Just because the game (from what people said) got the best physics and AI doesn't mean other stuff gets a pass. Also the hate for project cars NOW is just laughable. YES! I agree the game was a mess when it first came out and it was a lot of things wrong with it. NOW, it's a really good solid game that's (too me) barley any bugs in the game. Besides the AI, (aggression wise), online issues at times, and the controversial "you said this was coming to the game but its not now" type of fiasco...... What is honestly wrong with the game? Can stuff be improved? Yes! But is it not enough satisfied some of y'all?

Anyway I'm looking forward to playing this game. I hope the physics are great like people said. If that's the case, I'll time trial like crazy on this game if the driving experience is that good. The game looks good so far.

Patching on console works a bit differently than on PC. On PC they can just patch whatever they want, whenever they want. There are no additional costs or validation by other parties that are required.

On consoles, releasing a patch means Sony/MS need to validate it. This take time (1-2 weeks) and also money (MS/Sony don't do this for free, and it's not cheap either). A lot more money if you want a hotfix out quicker. So usually, console developers try to keep the number of patches to a minimum, unless it's game-breaking stuff or they have really deep pockets.

So don't expect multiple patches in a short time period unless there's a thermonuclear meltdown.

Yes your correct and in my experience its been about the same. There has been rumors that its way easier if you are backed my Sony then you dont pay and you get your stuff out way quicker. Maybe when i make some better stuff ill find out.

Hmmm, day 1 patch maybe?
Day One Patch is out [......] added exhaust flames
Well, whaddayaknow...:sly:
(I don't normally gloat)

Here's a list of things I think are "wrong" with AC:

No 24 hour time cycle
No rain
No functional flag system
No parade laps
No cool down lap
No safety car
No driver swaps
Lame physical damage model
No random mechanical failures
No grid options (manually setting the grid, reverse grid, etc.)
No rolling start
Can't choose your livery online in Pick-Up mode
Can't save a replay from inside the server
Can't change the track or race settings from inside the server
- Boring career
- Can't select AI opponents' tyres before races
- AI lines up in a queue behind you if you spin and end up in the middle of the track

- Boring career

I actually think AC does it nicely by presenting a variety of scenarios players might enjoy. I'm over complicated progression systems, in-game economies, unlockables, etc. Been there and done that too many times while trying to deal with bug-ridden game code, eventually having a negative effect on my urge to play. Developers almost never pull it off without introducing a bunch of issues. I just want to fire up my sim and get to the point.

No, I'm not denying a flaw (in before someone brings up that accusation again).

2.316GB? PlayStation Store has it listed as 14GB. Serious uncompression!

The small download is an initial install making the game accessible. It will subsequently download the full size in the background, which you can monitor by going into options on the game icon.

I've described it as a sim version of GT's career done well and with just a bit more depth. Somewhat basic and random but still fun and with proper standing starts and AI that actually race you instead of you chasing a rabbit around rolling chicanes. It even has a similar medal/progression system and it kinda forces you to race and enjoy cars you otherwise might overlook.

Wait a minute.....6 days? They saying that it's gonna be six days until i get to play this? I thought it was gonna be available on Friday?

You'll have to find something else to do next weekend. ;)

Or it could just be that Fanatec wheels will work with AC on the PS4 just like they do with other games, but since they require a separate controller to navigate menus Playstation made them remove the "PS4 Compatible" line from their advertising. I highly doubt Kunos would "patch it out" since the "recent Sony v Fanatec" issues are actually from March which isn't very recent, so they would have had plenty of time to remove it. I mean, there's a video in this thread showing it working on a Fanatec wheel, why would that functionality been included when the game went gold last month if they supposedly have known since March that Sony supposedly wouldn't allow it and supposedly planned on removing it with a patch? That doesn't make any sense.

Also, I've never seen anything saying Sony won't allow the wheels to work on the PS4. My understanding is they just asked Fanatec to remove it from their advertising because it wasn't fully compatible (needs a controller to operate menus) and thus was misleading. Fanatec said it's up to the devs to include support or not, and Kunos clearly chose to include that support when the game went gold, so why would the remove it a month or two later on release?

You haven't kept up with the news on this matter obviously mate, so I'll fill you in.

You're right about Sony telling Fanatec to remove the advertised PS4 compatibility from their website back in March, but that isn't the issue people are talking about. Much more recently, something happened, that has meant the removal of PS4 compatibility from future PS4 games for non-official Fanatec wheels. Fanatec are seemingly in the process of making an official PS4 wheel base (CSL Base), and maybe a PS4 rim hub for the CSW bases. Now either Fanatec have decided to pull a Logitech and has told devs to no longer support their old wheels on PS4, in an attempt to push their upcoming official wheel on PS4 users, or Sony has spat the dummy about Fanatec having provided drivers to PS4 devs for the last couple of years without paying the licence fee.

If it's the latter, then it's a dispute that may eventually be sorted out once the relevant licence fee is paid for the new official wheel, and then Sony might allow devs to support Fanatec's non-official wheels too, as they can with Thrustmaster's non-official wheels. If it's the former, then it's Fanatec's decision to pull PS4 compatibility for the old wheels, and thus they will not work in any games from here on.

Considering that Kunos' stance on PS4 wheel compatibility has changed from "all wheels that work with other games will work in AC", to "all officially licenced PS4 wheels will work with AC", and the fact that the recently released F1 2016 does not support Fanatec's wheels on PS4, despite Codies supporting them in their earlier PS4 games, including F1 2015 which runs on the same engine (when asked why, Codies said it's out of their hands), I wouldn't be betting it will still work after the day one patch.

If the wheels were still allowed to be supported in PS4 games, Codemasters wouldn't have removed them from F1 2016, and told customers it wasn't up to them.

Edit: Also, see here, the full list of compatible wheels for AC, as released by Kunos. No Fanatec support for PS4.
