Assetto corsa coming to PS4 and Xbox one

A few more reviews dripping through, very mixed. Some really like it ^^ some don't get it, which is how I thought it would come over on consoles. I am willing to give it a try (I tend to ignore the mainstream reviews), stick with the patches and see how I get on, I think I was the only one who enjoyed race pro and Shift 1! :ill: so this should be great but I understand we have now been spoilt in the graphics dept. with Drive Club, Pcars & DiRT Rally. I will write my honest opinion having never played AC or even watched many videos I will try on my T300 full set up and the DS4. Hopefully I am getting over the weekend.

p.s any sign of that photomode anywhere yet? ;)

Not shift 1, but loved shift 2 once i dialed in my own settings for the cars. And race pro was great great physics, i had the MS wheel.

Again xbox footage, looks great!

Thats true but from my point of view you see vids on YouTube and it has screen tearing and a general poor graphical quality and suddenly people start denying it has any issues in the visual department. I will love this game as i love racing and cars, but for heavens sake its not a looker. The xbox one review i posted up it looks good enough and as the reviewer says "it looks awesome...for a sim" man there's some ugly sims on PC, i get its not about looks but people please stop pretending it looks anywhere near as good as PCars, it does you no favors and also just let people express and opinion for goodness sakes, why are people so scared of people being honest in their own opinions? are your own that fragile!?

That is quite odd. On PC it looks great and I expected it to look at least pretty good on console. I haven't seen it on console in person so I don't know how it's looking and as such won't comment on the quality (I don't ever base opinions about quality on YouTube videos) and won't try to defend the quality since I haven't laid actual eyes on it. So, yeah, bit surprising that some people are saying it doesn't look good, but I'm not doubting them or trying to defend anything. I'm curious to hear what you think when you actually get to play it. I might buy it for a buddy who has a PS4 so maybe I'll get to see it myself soon. I know it won't look as good as PCars, but on PC it's probably the best looking sim next to PCars, so that's a shame if that quality didn't carry over to the consoles.

Should I get this on PC? I have no idea how to setup drivers and stuff pc people do but if it's an easy setup I'm willing to take the plunge.

Definitely, if you have an interest in driving/racing virtual cars. Setting up drivers is a piece of cake, all you should really have to install is a driver for your wheel and I'll be happy to help if you need. I just reset my PC back to a clean install this week and did all the driver installing on Tuesday so it's fresh in my mind. Really simple though.

Unfortunately it's to be expected, and is somewhat justifiable, but this is the normal path for video games now it seems. Release it in a semi-functional state and then patch until it works. I don't get it, and I don't care for it, but I've come to expect it so I don't complain about it much.

Funny thing, I've been playing MarioKart on my Nintendo 64 lately. That was in the days before patches and the games worked pretty much perfectly (most of the time) out of the box because they had too. An occasional glitch here or there but nothing game-breaking. Too bad games can't release in a stable state like that and then be added to with patches instead of fixed.

great graphics, not too bad thats correct

zero screen tearing and no FR drops..... no idea, sorry

wish the xbox one version had all of that.. its been clear for months that ps4 is the console to go ;) (and yes i have a xboxone too)

To give you an idea, one guy was saying it was **** because his H- Shifter wouldn't work in game. He however failed to realise that if you choose a car that only comes with paddles in real life then the H-Shifter won't work. It's a Sim! Doh!

Imo that's great that the game guides you like that into functioning the car like you would irl.
 
Great game! I use the T300 wheel and it is everything I expected :) the handeling is great, ffb is great and I had amazing fun online driving touristenfahren on the Ring. Online stability is very good and didn't notice any bugs so far. No "GT" graphics but looks good overall. I highly recommend this game to all car enthousiasts ;)

Those long load times made me change my mind about getting the game, sadly. Every game I have ever owned that had long load times I have sold.

Um... Wow. Really? So you definitely sold pCARS then. Are you on PS4? You would've sold games like Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 then, if you bought them... Great games.

Why not just do quick races with loads of laps so you don't have to see the load screen so often? :dopey:

Its bugged me that PCars tracks do not truly represent the tracks as it should! I can think of 101 reasons to why Silverstone is not accurate in PCars. The laser scaned tracks will really help asseto corsa sell!

PCars load times don't seem nearly as long as what's shown in the vids of Assetto. If they are at least the same I don't mind. Yes I'm on PS4.

I really hope the load times don't venture into the ridiculousness of pCARS'. I've almost fallen asleep waiting for a race to load in that game. Probably has the longest load times of any game I own on PS4.
