Heheh, think PCars or AC load times are bad? Three words: Amstrad, C64, Spectrum. Press Play to load. Wait 5 minutes while watching multiple colored stripes flashing on screen. Get "Loading error". Start all over again.
(Yes I know it's 2016). :P
I remember a game called Citadel on my Acorn Electron which I'm sure took around 40 mins to load. Used to love getting the classic 'syntax error' message after waiting 20 mins or so. Made you wanna rip the tape to shreds. Yes... TAPE!

Guys, two questions:
1) In offline mode, do it have a opponent selector, you can only set the category or you can only race pre-made events?
2) Is the Prestige disc version of the game real? If so, when it releases/what will be its features?

10 min to go

One hour and eight minutes here. I blame Brexit.

1. Either same class (race cars) or category (road cars). Nothing is pre made in races. (Big shame is PC version you can choose each AI car) Not on console though.

2. Don't know.

It releases tomorrow for Europe and the content is as follows.

Wait, nine cars that can only bought on europe?
Seriously?
From the about 100 cars, 30 are DLC and 9 are european only, and we got only 60 left?

Thanks for the replys.

I really hope the load times don't venture into the ridiculousness of pCARS'. I've almost fallen asleep waiting for a race to load in that game. Probably has the longest load times of any game I own on PS4.
The load times on the PS4 are far superior to PCars. The initial boot time is less than 1/4 of that in PCars. The track load times are also many times quicker than PCars. The load times in AC have certainly exceeded my expectations!

Yeah, unreal isn't it? Still can't believe the stupidity of the prestige pack decision. Not only is it limited to Europe, but also to a specific store chain. Freeking unbelievable.

Man, those were the days! Incredible how far we have come. Citadel was a great game.

It's available in NZ too. EB games has it. Simply price match them to the cheapest local store (JB HI-FI is the cheapest I've seen at $94, $16 cheaper than EB).

Only driven the Mito so far and this feels special

Great! How is it special in comparison to FM6? I know AC is supposed to be a better simulation, but I have no idea how much of a gap to expect between the two games in terms of driving feel using a controller.

Greetings all, have not posted here on GTP in quite some time. However I feel compelled to post after purchasing AC. I initially made the jump to PS4 after PD announced that GTS would have a public beta.

However once this changed I decided to grab PCars to give me that PS4 car game (racing driving) fix /experience as I had started to lose interest in GT6 once updates had stopped and at that point I was 50-70k kms driven deep all trophies ect plus I was keen to see what a next gen could deliver.

PCars was nice there were some great tracks and cars but did not seem really get me "fired" up grabbed a little DLC (Rouen-Les-Essarts) which I thought was pretty cool but all took a back seat to NBA 2K16 Jordan edition. I was still "hungry" and then heard that this game Assetto Corsa was announced for console.

I have followed this thread for quiet some time now and read all the glowing praises heaped upon it by enthusiastic forum members who have had the PC version. All this hype surrounding it definitely aroused my interest to the point of even pre ordering, could this game really be as good as everyone claims????

Well yesterday the wait came to an end, I picked it up after work got home and cracked the cellophane wrapping fired up the PS4 and tempered my expectations to try avoid disappointment but it was hard to contain the excitement of the possibilities of what this game might deliver.

All I can say is WOW!!!!! Holy 🤬 this is the best gaming experience I have had since I don't know when (40 yo, gaming for 35 of those). "Car" games are the one genre that I have never swayed from. If you love driving and care about the physics above all then you owe it to yourself and absolutely must get this game. The purity of driving and how it translates between the real world and a "game" are the closest I have ever felt. By lap 5 in the Ferrari 488GTB at Mugello which was my initial AC experience I was hooked and poured 4 hrs straight into it. Which says a lot considering I have maybe 1-1.5 hrs a day free.

I will finish by saying that as much as I love the GT franchise always have always will but AC is on a whole other level and I have to give eternal thanks and a mammoth shout out to Kunos and the team for reigniting a passion that had waned over the past 8 months, you guys are amazing!!!!

NB If you are sitting on the fence about this game then from someone who had major initial reservations re this game dive all the way in you thank yourself and Kunos!

After you tryed AC! you cant go back. :)

@sayba2th I am extremely happy for you!! I was a GT6 diehard until I started playing AC (but I have AC on my PC) in Oct 2015. I haven't touched GT6 since. Personally, I think GT6 has pretty decent physics, but the flaws it does have are pretty big ones. I'm talking about physics related flaws. Assetto Corsa felt so different with my very first lap with a BMW M3 E92. The suspension made my eyes pop. The grip of tires...you feel them rolling over the tarmac so nicely through the force feed back. Weight transfer was incredible. Basically, everything.

It was exactly what I thought GT6 would be. GT6 was the very first computer/console driving simulator I ever played and I always heard how awesome GT is. I still think Gran Turismo is totally awesome. It's just has different objectives. And there is nothing wrong with GT6's objectives!!! But, I hope that people coming from a Forza or GT background for the last 10-15 years give Assetto Corsa's objectives a chance. Focus on just the driving for the first few days. Don't look around at scenery. Concentrate on the road in front of you and just drive... The rest can all come later. 👍
