Everyone should watch the VVV preview IMO, its very very good. Also they add at the end that they tried XBOX one after patch and all stuttering is gone. There's an agenda constantly of PS4 owners trying to validate their personal choice. Its rather pathetic.

Am I the only one struggling with the chase cam (near)?

I know, being a sim, I should try a different view but I like chase cam...except in this.

Another point where AC really shines is the racing itself and the AI.
I did my first races in career and i'm really surprised how good and how difficult the AI is. Had a real good fight with the AI and they definitely fight back. If i want to win a race on hard, i'm gonna need a lot more practice.

They mention in the VVV podcast chase cam is poor and more suited to NFS arcade game, seriously just learn to drive cockpit or at least bonnet cam, doesn't excuse Kunos doing a bad make shift throw away chase cam, but its more immersive.
I'm waiting and preying the postman brings me my prestige copy today!!

Hi guys!
I was just wondering if PC FFB settings would translate well to console, or the two require different FFB settings to get the most out of it? Thanks!
Can't wait to play this game in a few days

Very pleased that people are saying physics from PC to consoles is dead on, i can live with the average graphics provided it gives me the driving sensation i'm hearing about. Really dying to get my copy, the postman better have it or i'm going to be mighty annoyed with GAME UK!

You are in the UK, there are never issues with the post here wait should i complain about getting things several days too early, how dare they put me in that state of madness attempting to understand what day my packages will come. Well actually part of the fun is staring out the window at the sounds of vehicle stopping hoping to the higher powers that its your package.

Ok, so feedback for the Xbox one controller.

Straightly put: it's really awkward for me. After a lot of settings tweaking, the cars are just too fiddly and overreacting to inputs, we are not looking at a Forza or gt level of controller experience for sure. It's hard for me to recommend this to a sole controller user

BUT

I said this in my Mito post and I'll say it again here. I feel something very special with this game. The tricky pad controls aren't completely blocking me from those insane physics below. Everything regarding physics feels so smooth and gradual, as opposed to the more erratic behaviour I received from PCARS on and off the wheel. There are way less times where I'm left thinking "wtf just happened?", the majority of it happens and I know it will and why. I'm gutted my t150 won't work with Xbox, but my plan was always to buy it for ps4 too. And this has only made me want it more. I can't wait to experience this game properly :)

Only going to have an hour spare tonight and at Brands Hatch all weekend, so will have to wait until Monday to try it out properly. This is going to be a long weekend.

For me this is why i'm excited still, because at times with PCars I am left thinking "that wouldn't happen" or "thats not how a car feels or reacts" not all the time but with some cars on PCars I think they are broken. I'll take the poor graphics if the driving is as good as i hear.... still waiting for postman!!

Just received my copy of the Prestige Edition from Game but haven't tried it out yet. Will definitely buy the Season Pass although wondering when the Japanese pack and Red Pack will be available. Guessing sometime in September. Are you able to race cars from different classes? For example, could I choose the GT-R Nismo and select the M4 Coupe as my AI rival?

Just wondering: were they difficult with TC, ABS and stability control on as well?

I always use abs and braking is not a problem. I love the feeling of braking in this game in fact. Traction control feels similar to PCARS, it will reduce wheelspin but you still have to be careful or you will spin.

Just took the GTA out on Nordschleife with no Abs, no TCS or stability control and I found it surprisingly easy with a controller. Set my steering speed and sensitivity to 10% each. Not sure what some of the negative points about the steering with a controller are about....

Did the adjustment make the steering animation better?

Just playing with a few new combos for the 1st time.....

The Lambo GT3 is a beast!!! :P

The Ferrari 599XX Evo is beautiful, and that sound!!! <3

Some great league races/championships could be had with the Lotus Single seater, great fun little car!

Loving this game!!!

Chase cam is disaster way too dynamic especially when turning it moves to the side of a car and you have no feeling of fast cornering and stuff...
I hope they can fix that...

No it didnt. The driver is still steering like he have parkinson, but I got the feeling that I can steer much more precise with 10% sensitivity than with 20%.

There's an agenda constantly of PS4 owners trying to validate their personal choice. Its rather pathetic.

That's a common human fallacy known as confirmation bias, we look for reasons to support our choice and ridicule other choices to make our choice seem correct. Look at politics, religion, sports, video games, people blindly support and champion their chosen affiliation while degrading those who made a different choice in an effort to make their choice feel more valid. We can overcome it, but only after we realize we're susceptible to it.

Those were the main reasons I gave up on PCars. The graphics and bells/whistles are nice but if the car is unpredictable I have no interest. Too many times the car reacted in a way that made me say "WTF just happened? That's not normal." I've never had one of those WTF moments in AC, any time something untoward happens I usually know exactly why and how to prevent it in the future. (Not "defending my choice" per above statement, just relating my experiences.) If PCars was my only choice for a race sim I'd have no problem enjoying it, but since I have several other choices that don't give me the WTF moments I chose to pass on PCars.

The irony was that a while back when the trailer came out the console version a lot people complained that the chase cam didnt move enough. I guess the easiest way to solve this is to just add a checkbox if you want movement or not, personally i dont care either way as long as those flames stay.

B.K

Ok, that's not good to hear as I don't own a wheel at the moment. The cockpit view is a big part of the enjoyment for me... I don't like the dashboard view.

Can you guys on PS4 get the TH8A to work? I switched on the 'use H-shifter' function, tried both of the wires (one to put in the wheel, one to PS4) since Sebastian Loeb Rally Evo uses the USB wire one, while PCars the other one, plugged in the wire before and after launching the game (since you have to do it for PCars), and still can't make the shifter work...

Edit:I was trying it with the Yellowbird.
Sorry, just a little push of the post. Hopefully someone can so kindly enlighten me on this issue :P

Posted this morning on the AC forums, it's something I suppose.

personally I've found pCARS, at least once you have the FFB reasonable on the PC version, very rarely has moments where you wonder what happened after you lost control. By default pCARS has far too much SAT overpowering everything else in my experience (Thrustmaster wheel presets at least), so improving the FFB is crucial to getting more information.

For me, rFactor and iRacing are king of the "WTF" moment, although Forza 4 had some tendencies too. AC is really good at always letting you understand what is happening, as is RaceRoom (just like older Simbin titles).

I guess part of this is the choice to either just simulate steering rack forces in the wheel, or to add some "seat of the pants" car feel into the wheel FFB, but the end result is that some simulators you need to "learn" the visual/sound cues as much as feel the FFB, whereas other simulators you get what you need from the FFB predominantly.
