It is very strange, I wanted to buy new ACC DLC's (challengers pack and US Tracks) and there are non on PS Store? I thought they have added those DLC with 1.8 updated. Whats going on?

That’s how I understood it as well but it didn’t work.

The league race went fine. No issues whatsoever and we used a private server not a lobby as before.
Tried it on PS5 and T300 and it works.

Overall, it looks like a good improvement - in particular, more and better looking assets.

However, I noticed the tyre marks on version 1.8 to be very bland and much less pronounced than 1.7:

Am I missing something here?
The default setting for track conditions and grip level is fast, you have to change it to optimum.

What you're saying is that whoever made the video did not use the same track conditions for both versions? And that by doing so, version 1.8 would then look the same as version 1.7?

I have to try it again. Apparently you can’t have any binding on the triangle button and I’m not sure if I had it or not.

Error CE-108255-1 constantly now, won't even let me drive. Top work 505.
Sorry to be the one bringing you bad news but I had that error on other games (gt7, gta on ray tracing modes, etc) and I had to get my ps5 repaired.

Tried a couple of other games and it's only ACC doing it.

I tested it and compared with your pictures and when I set the grip level at optimum it looks the same as 1.7.
When I set grip level at fast it looks the same as 1.8 in your pictures.

The controller mapping is super sensitive as a default, steering needs to be done with slight off centre movements (you cant use the full movement of the stick same with the triggers fractional presses or its lock up time). I found it just ok, hitting an apex should not be this awkward, not anywhere near the fidelity GT7's controller map (but this game seems to have better physics behind the average controller map). Trying to make small corrections on a straight causes the cars to saw because of the over sensitivity. On the reddit pages the consensus was holding the stick at 12 o'clock and making tiny incremental movements was the work around. Try it while its cheap maybe get the disc version so you can trade it if necessary. Vibration wont turn off in the options and its not at all subtle either lol
I went down the straight and steered left to right quickly and the car was totally stable with these settings. Its PS4 so no idea if they are different on PS5.

Question to the group. Is the immersive view (the one with the helmet I think), the only view where you can scale the drivers head looking into the corners?

Did (2) hour-long sessions the past 2 days. Really digging this game. Think I’m going to dedicate my Mclaren rim to this game and nerd out with all the button mapping and really strive for “proper simulation” as much as I can.

Not sure if that 100% throttle glitch got fixed, but regardless, I set my throttle deadzone to 1% and cars stopped walking past me on the straights. I feel like I’ve finally gotten a handle on the physics, so I think it’s time to learn some of these tracks and create my own championship.

I'm halfway through my custom championship and loving the game. If they implement udp this will be the icing on the cake. 10 min qualifying and 30mins races. Not doing pit stops at mo as I believe they are bugged but really enjoying racing the AI . Grid is split gt3 and gt4 so lap the gt4's near end of the race which makes things interesting getting past cleanly. Ai on 88% which is just right for me to be up there with the leaders.

You can set the head to move with the wheel using the normal cockpit cam as well, if you don't want to have the helmet showing.
If you lower the FOV and move the seat in you can almost have a dashcam view that looks into corners too.

I can't see anything any different after the patch. FFB is still broke.

There are no other liveries for the M4 GT3 except the same #82 that we've had since the car debuted correct?

1.8.2.2 (I think that's what it is)

It's a bug fix update that makes more bug fixes it seems.

In a single race (for example) select custom series and you should get a whole lot more liveries for the M4, the Rowe livery is one plus a whole lot of US M4 liveries

Have you tried Fanatec’s recommended PC settings yet? I’ve been using those, and they seem really good

Assuming you mean the additional patch post 1.8 major update then it's the hotfix to sort the online side out, which seems to have worked by and large but on the xbox if forced a 10.6gb update, on the ps5 when I updated that version it was only 3.6gb so appears Microsoft are handling the patches in a different way maybe.

Here you go, full patch notes of the new "hotfix" update that moved the game from version 1.8.1 to 1.8.2.2

As not listed changes, they changed the delta timer again in the HUD, in 1.8.1 it was like on PC version with 2 decimals, and they brought back the 3 decimals delta timer from some years ago.

Several bugs are there, one affecting the climate simulation ;

- Unable to Load/Save a car setup if you have a wheel. The UI appears ok (triangle button to load/save a setup), but if you press the triangle button in the wheel, it doesn’t work (at least in PS5 platform):

-Replays (best race moments) at the end of the race is bugged, the image is freeze but audio is ok. You can check it in the following video:

-When you select LIGHT RAIN, and DYNAMIC WEATHER is DISABLED, the ambient and track temperature are crazy, and it’s undriveable to drive. If you ENABLE the DYNAMIC WEATHER, the bug is gone. Here you can check:

With Wet tyres, you can drive about, but if you get dry tires, it’s undriveable:

-No issues with “heavy rain” or “storm”

-Sound ingame mix issues. It’s very noticiable with external cams. The AI engine sound are very low. The audio is glitchy, mechanics changing tyres with no sound (see attached video), spotter mute, AI engine sound not working ok, etc

-Still no data on the Thrustmaster SF1000 screen.

-Blurry car image the first time you load the game in select car menu. Once you change the car the texture loads correctly. This issue is still present, although it’s one of the PS5 Specific 1.8.2.2 fixes (Main Menu - Car preview window textures never load completely until the car selection menu is accessed once)

-Driver profile name customisation still not possible

-New “Special events” missing (one year with the same event)

- User interface “Lorem Ipsum…” text bug in Competition Server countdown.

I saw someone posted in reddit that the comp server on xbox is showing COTA as the next race when it’s not yet available. This level of errors is just so poor. You couldn’t make it up.

It's like there going out of their way to put console players off. The PC/console versions are like chalk/cheese in comparison.

Makes me glad i have to wait, not want the hassles, even on console. One day they will be done with fixes and be a fully functioning game on ps5, hopefully.

Same with wrc, except they never fix anything, even in sequels. Lack of respect for their customers in my view.
