You can pre-order the disc version at the local game shop over here, but when I ask him about the digital version he said it would be on the PlayStation store in the next couple of weeks. We just have to wait & see if he is right or not.

In Poland we can't preorder it both on disc and digital.

Will this game be playable with a controller? Playable as in being able to enjoy it. I assume it’s catered towards people who use a wheel.

I think if you want to really enjoy the game you will have to buy a wheel.

Hey @Titzon Toast you can pre-order the game when it is available at the PS Store, and the game is not on there as yet to pre-order.

While it is better with a wheel, it is certainly playable with a controller.

Are you part of the development team, or beta testing ?
How do you know so much ?

Thanks for answering all the questions.

I don't know how long this has been working underwrap,. It props to you and the team for releasing this early beating out Project Cars 3 but I guess since the game/sim will be coming in different separate packs like Project Cars 2, more will come later for us to pay...

Personally I prefer one time fee and have everything like GT does rather than A La Carte...

Another good thing is that is will be playable on Curren gen console, smart because you will get more players right away...

I hope both Project Cars 3 and the next GT will also be like this... Forcing people to get next gen will be a major financial loss at release day and for the foreseeable future since not many can afford given the current situation that will no doubt last a bit longer than anyone will want...

Can you please let us know how this two gen compatibility works?

Was the game designed for the next gen, then the current gen just process what it can, simplifying and downgrade the output when compared to the next gen

OR

Was the game design for the current gen, then when when the next gen will be available, a patch or software update will be downloaded onto the new consoles to be able to upgrade the processing ?

Whatever it is, other game developers would be smart to follow suite here...

The game has been available on PC since September 2018 (early access) and May 2019 (release 1.0). That's where we get our information. :)

They've been working on the console version for more than 1 year. Just lately they reached the certainty of when it can be released. (Source: translation of Italian motorsportsrepublic podcast).

That's a bit unclear (for PS5) at the moment if I understand correctly. Digital Foundry has a new video on the matter:

EDIT: I thought I would just post the whole interview translation here, as it contains some interesting info. All credit for translation goes to user Guidofoc on the ACC forums. I'm pasting his post unedited here:
------------------------------------------------------------
"OK. If I am not mistaken, the interview is a bit old, as Marco says that "there will be a SRO esports race in Monza" (that race has already taken place on March 29, right?), so I would say this is from 10+ days ago.
Some chat about how sim racing has a chance to emerge in this moment, also about the chances for a sim driver to become a real driver. A bit of critique to F1 for the disappointing esports event they did after the cancellation of the first GP.
Finally, at about 13:00 they start talking about ACC. Pleasure for the increasing success of the game and the DLC.
Question on the laser scan: are the tracks all done by you? Yes, all done by us. The Laguna Seca track for AC was the only one made "outside", by the guys who made the Luccaring mod for AC.
Concering the Unreal engine, Marco said they have received some help from Epic itself when they were developing the triple screen features.
Console version: they've been working on it for more than 1 year, just lately they reached the certainty of when it can be released.
They also announced a roadmap for PC:
GT4 was probably a surprise for the fans. Beautiful cars, less extreme, fun to drive. They joked they should do ACC GT4 as a standalone game. The unexpected thing that happened during the development was that the teams themselves went to them, they received a big number of emails from GT4 teams and drivers, and they want to cooperate because they need a sim to do training so the sooner they get a GT4 sim the better. They are asking for beta version so they can start testing and using it.
He also says that Amazon is a title sponsor so there could be news related to this (?).
Other chitchat on driving real race cars compared to simulated ones (Marco drove a Lamborghini Super Trofeo at Vallelunga). Marco argues that today's quick sim racers are perfectly able to drive real race cars (of course with the aid of some physical training).
When does the GT4 pack come out? End of June to mid-July (he mentioned Camaro, Aston Vantage, Ginetta). He says that there may be delays due to the Coronavirus because they are waiting for some data from some manufacturers.
Then the British pack, they are working on it and it should be ready by the end of the year.
The 1.4 build will come out in the next few weeks.
Question: have you thought about creating an advanced user guide for ACC? Yes, we have thought about it and it is not easy to create a good driving/setup guide, also because the localization needs lots of attention. At the same time, ACC allows rookie drivers to just jump into a car and race without any setup. When the player decides to put more time into ACC, he will discover the "depth" of the sim. In comparison, Marco said that he is playing a flight sim where even to take off you need to study a lot (steep learning curve)."

For now they are only making SRO related motorsports.

To be honest i believe there is great chance the game will be delayed. There is not much time left and we even didn't see console gameplay.

Honestly thats fine by me but I do hope they bring in past GT3 cars at least like the 458 GT3, 430 GT3, SLS AMG GT3, BMW Z4 GT3 and many more.

Also I hope the SRT Viper GT3 R makes it in a dlc one day.

I'm just hoping the online play/matchmaking etc will be somewhat useable...unlike AC (on console) for e.g. ;) I already trust Kunos to get everything else right.

I didn't play Assetto Corsa in console, but for those that did (or just know), was there a difference between Xbox One and PS4? I have both systems, so was just wondering which one I should order. Thank you!

There was also a really interesting interview at the Simracing Expo back in September where Marco talked about the Unreal Engine and how they are evaluating whether they will continue to use it.
Well worth a watch (only about 13 minutes long).

After seeing that plus AWS getting on board for SRO/ACC I asume they will switch to Lumberyard by Amazon since Amazon indeed can provide the latest technologies and they are a true powerhouse in terms of digital services. Kunos, Amazon and SRO melting their forces could be really an option, surely now that ACC gets a lot of credits from all sides during those e-Sports events. Very interesting to see how this will work out.

Not to be a negative nanny but I have to say again that I'm fairly sceptical about the performance on console. Even on PC the optimization is mediocre, simply due to UE4 it would seem. I predict many posts complaining about just that.
But, I was wrong about it not coming to console so let's hope I'm wrong about this as well. :)

If it is going to be Project Cars 2 level of optimization. Then it will be good enough.

I guess it will suffice, but I'm hoping for better TBH. pCARS2 isn't well optimised on my standard PS4 (the jaggies!) but on a side note I'm hopeful Codies can tweak things a little for pCARS3, as their other racing games perform pretty well I'd say.

Stopped playing AC(PS4). I've been recreating this as best I could with the two "current" GT4 cars(Maserati & Porsche). I'm too hyped to play anymore. Under two months to go.

To be honest i played it a lot and i think it is well enough. I prefer graphics cuts instead of physics cuts...

To me the game can look like old Gran Turismo 4 or GTR 2. If it has decent physics and it works well it will be good enough.
I agree with you, but only up to a point.

I agree with prioritizing physics over graphics, but I don't agree with the graphics going as low as a PS2 game for that.

More to the point, I don't agree that the experience related in the posts I linked above and also the general, constant jaggies (shadows, for example) make for a good argument for a "well optimised" game.
