Do you now see the terrible frame stutter? As the trees pan around you the view stutters terribly.
I agree if its in the game like this at the moment of that stream, it needs be fixed. It's not just the far horizon, it's the whole screen stuttering when turning. Unreal as always had problem loading streaming in new content like in turning the view, same im motogp games.
Hopefully they will fix this in post launch patches if not before.
A guy from kunos did say they were going to push until it's smooth like ac on console, which is great to me on std ps4 with less than 14 cars.
Edit: on a small screen and focusing on the cockpit it's less obvious maybe to some.

I was worried until I saw the footage now I'm not , Did you guys struggle with the 30fps in Driveclub ? I admit the game itself wasn't for me but only because of the game itself not the 30fps.
I'm thinking maybe my eyes or brain is less in tune with this stuff and I'm not as affected.

Whilst it doesn't cause me any discomfort I can see what he's talking about. Worse still I can see it in my peripheral vision even if looking at the track. The other day I went from GT Sport to GTA and the frame rate was really evident for a few minutes until my eyes readjusted.

Despite a lot of chest beating by the "PC master race" crowd it comes down to Unreal being expensive to run. I did a bit of reading this morning and it seems if you want 4k60 from PC on this game you're in to a £1k graphics card...

He did ? thats ki nd of interesting because the last I read Kunos said they didn't do the console port and had no involvement in it.

Kunos are responsible for the game, but the guys that developed the game, the physics, sound etc did not port the console version. There is almost zero chance the console version stops getting support whilst the PC version is in development.

Yeah even if they are not doing the port, im sure he meant as a group or company involved in it, or at least his will that it be continued improvements.

They did say that they will use some of the console port optimizations on the pc too, so there must be some sharing of development effort.
Plus they did say they are continuing to improve and develop acc both on current console and pc for a while and that is one reason they haven't started on new gen yet.
So just need patience i think, and hope they do what needs and can be done.

Did you see this?

I did as it happens @MarcoM :D and just rewatched a bit more again to refresh my view. While it seems less obviously choppy than the official footage (oddly enough) I still found it slightly disturbing to watch.

It might be that once the disc is in your own device and you are actually playing the game yourself, it may not be much of an issue. We'll be able see for ourselves soon.

I can still hope 505 will do something to take advantage of the soon to arrive PS5 though. ACC running on PS5 is more or less a given but 505 optimising the game specifically to take advantage of it is not as yet.

Yeah, I don't see a "problem" with the framerate, using my 49yo eyes w/glasses. I think this is like that test going around on on Facebook: "Look at this picture of a sneaker. Are they grey w/green stripes?" or "Listen to this voice on your phone. DO you hear Danny or Lauren?".

I understand concerns for those that prefer 60fps. It's not a deal breaker for me.

Coming from AC1 on base PS4 & XB1, from what I see in ACC PS4, I like: the hand animation, real cars/team list, real event track list, tod/dynamic weather, longer replays, more than 16 cars and hopefully, competitive AI like AC1 or better.

I'm happy enough to play this game replicating the 2019 calendar. From testing at Paul Ricard and Spa, the 10 race Europe schedule and IGTC 2019 calendar.

Well it's not framerate per se, on those couple of vids it's obvious the stuttering and needs be fixed for sure. Especially in curves for a sim.
It's not micro stutter, and on a bigger screen like a tv will show even more if ever it happens regularly.
I dont know if it's a specific situation though that it happens.
Im the biggest supporter of ac and kunos as a sim dev, and ac on my std ps4 is smooth as a dream, better than most, with not too many ai.

I need recheck other videos to see if its same. But it's still early and im sure even post launch will be patches on and on and updates.

Edit: popin of trees etc isn't so and as important even if it should be fixed too as can. But it doesn't affect too much the gameplay and immersion like stutter does.

Has anybody come across any video from these guys who have the game early, showing flags?

I haven't seen any yet and I'm really hoping there are some because that's one of the things I wish PC2 had

For sure there is race rules flags in Acc, even ac has them. Edit: i don't mean ac is a lesser sim, just doesn't replicate a specific race series and has a mix of cars etc, but still has flags too.
From the steam acc dev updates list:

No I don't see the trees when I drive I just focus on the road ahead, because you will make many mistakes and I don't use trees as braking point either.
The whole image stutters. I was just using the trees as an example. Hopefully these are capture/streaming problems and not indicative of the game engine.

Not 100 % sure.

But I think NA store updates tuesday. I doubt its aviable at midnight monday.

EU Store update Wensday :-(

I’m not sure where to write my thoughts but my game arrived today ACC Xbox one X, 10 gb update and I did some laps around Brands Hatch and Nurburgring GP circuit, Ferrari 488 and BMW M6 GT3 and I am on a pad, my thoughts it does look ok, I did have some stuttering watching the intro cinematic, some nice cock pit views too and helmet cam which I liked from project cars, sounds are sublime and the way you can feel, see the bumps too on track, the physics of the car going over them and scraping and what not is awesome. It feels ok on a pad really drive able just wish I had more feed back with right and left triggers for throttle and brakes like Forza gives me, I’m having fun with it will need to do a race soon and see how it gets on. Overhaul pretty good though 7.5 /10

In the GameTechUK stream the guy mentioned no FOV setting options in console edition. Did he just not see it or is this confirmed?

Glad to hear from someone using a pad on Xbox (I have an S and don't own a wheel). 7.5/10 sounds solid for a game that costs 1/3 less than a regular-priced game.

Good read mate  even if you are using a controller, if I read good reviews like you have posted I will enjoy this game using my G29 on my PS4.

From your own post:

From Kunos.

"If you have questions beyond what is already covered in the published FAQ, please request support through the 505 Games game support website.

Apart from a few aspects of backend management, the Kunos team is not involved directly in the development of the console versions so we won't be able to give you an official answer here. Thanks"

So are they involved or are they not ?

505 have the publishing rights, I suspect that they outsourced the console port and as the above says, Kunos provided a little direction but were not involved.

From Kunos's point of view they won't need to do anything to provide console suppport, because they'll add the GT4 DLC to the PC version and whatever else and it will get shipped off to the outsourcer to integrate in to the console version. So I agree, provided the PC version gets new content/updates, so will console.

I see posts here suggesting a day 1 patch to improve perfomrance on console or to add back in private lobbies that have been removed during the port. What I'm saying is we are entirely at the whim of 505 and given their showing thus far I wouldn't be too confident of anything. The fact that one of the most popular wheels just doesn't work or crashes the game does make we wonder how much testing it got.

If we get patches and stuff - fantastic, but lets not take them as a foregone conclusion.
