@Famine

The AI in PC2 often treats me as if we have a long acrimonious history. They are certainly not as polite with me as I am with them.

Is it too early for you to determine if the AI are a little smarter in this game? I mean, you’ve been hit twice from behind so, perhaps not?

That being the issue - the "game" part of the game doesn't cover it, so you have to guess

Sprint races don't require a driver change, but endurance races do. This isn't noted anywhere that's obvious - and not really covered when you're actually stopping; if you select the other driver, a further panel says they are "invalid". Also on the not mentioned list is the fact you have to do the stop yourself on the limiter (and 2nd disengages the limiter) including stopping correctly in your pit box.

You essentially need prior knowledge of the rules and regulations of the real-world Blancpain GT series (or whatever its current name is), and I can see a lot of people getting very frustrated, very early in the career mode without any of these things explained.

I've also been hit twice in two rolling starts (something else not mentioned) by the AI. The second time I decided to restart the race and that bizarrely made my wheel impossible to turn (ultra heavy, almost no response from the car, even at walking pace) until I went into the controls menu and changed one of the sliders.

Picked up some audio and visual bugs too - sound cutting out at Monza heading out of Ascari, and the longer car/team names in the results menus skip about.

The simulation aspect seems pretty cool (it's a bit crap on pad, to be honest), and it's not too bad visually (the frame rate is obvious). But the actual game bit of it seems... unfinished.

I meant I was just guessing because I haven't had the chance to play yet, but if it doesn't explain it, I guess you have a valid point. :)

I did see there's a widget on the HUD that shows the requirements in red/green color, depending on whether you fulfilled the requirement or not. No idea if it shows that by default or whether it explains how to fulfill any of those (probably not, hehe).

Personally, I'm looking forward to it, interested in the simulation aspect, the physics, the sounds. So I'm willing to accept those shortcomings, but we'll see how it goes...

So do we get a code for the IGTC pack ? If not, how will they know those who pre-ordered vs those who picked it up afterwards ?

Or is everyone going to get the IGTC pack and the "pre-order to get.." is a scam..

I just picked up my copy for Xbox from my local EB. The code for the IGTC pack is inside the game. At a guess the Day 1 edition will appear on shelves here today and tomorrow so even if you didn’t pre order you could still pick it up.

I’m installing it atm whilst trying to pack for a house move. System is saying Disc is 1.3GB and install from Network is 8.84 GB.

The DLC tracks will be available later in the summer according to Kunos

As in Bathurst Kyalami Suzuka etc?? I hope that explains why I’ve redeemed the dlc code that came with the game and Bathurst is still locked and in game is pointing me to buy a season pass.

Which is sad, considering that I was really looking forward to Kyalami as its not a track I've seen in other games.

Define, its a bit crap on a pad. Are there any settings or adjustments that can be made?

Can I ask what wheel you are using and what "sliders" did you twiddle with?

I am very underwhelmed with this game so far and am in two minds whether to take it back for a refund.

are you on wheel or controller? I found some pretty good controller settings if you need some

What version of the game are you reviewing?

Downloaded completed and put about 30 min into the game so far. Need to give it some more time, but initial impression is not good.

Still need to dial in the FFB so can't fully speak to the driving dynamics but was impressed by the level of data, detail and set-up customization.

The graphics, however, are atrocious for 2020 and significantly detract from the sim realism. The rear view mirror is terrible, there is a general lack of refinement/blockiness to most elements while driving, and the 30fps on PS4pro is a real killer (feels janky while driving, even in single player mode). Hope that there are patches in the pipeline - this release feels half-baked.

The DLC is on the MS store and mentions a July 23 release.

Thankyou for that. Was a bit frustrated for a moment. Considering the IGTC content is out on PC then I just assumed it would be out on console from day one. My bad.

Initial thoughts are that the game is quite playable on controller (I don't have the space or money for a rig) even using stock settings. On our main TV which is 4k it looks fine but on my other non 4k TV it looks like a PS2 game. Yikes. The difference is quite profound. The game does feel immsersive though especially when it comes to sound. The car's sound fantastic and the atmospheric noises especially when you go off track are great.

That always happens, shop receives X copies for pre-order, whatever they don't sell goes on the shelf come release day, voucher intact.

THose shops that didn't get pre-order stock or sold out will have the regular copy.
