Pretty sure I will.

Hope they fixed the wheel degree rotation to automatic though.

Still playing Pc2 after ACC is quite an experience. But I am open enough to enjoy both and many other sims.

To give an idea how this looks on a base PS4 if anyone wonders. Graphics of this quality isn't too bothering during play. There are some annoying glitches which most likely get fixed in the patch-plans.

Yeah, stills look great. It's when things start moving that **** hits the fan.

Also, always warm-up your tires, people...

1800P & 1080P - framerate and stutter feel about the same.
1800P - looks so much crisper with cleaner textures too. However, lots of LOD changes and shadows popping into view only a few 10s of metres in front of your car.
1080P - far fewer LOD changes can be seen and shadows are far more solid. However, it looks absolutely awful on my 50" UHD TV.

Yes, when set to a lower resolution (1080p) the console provides better image quality/graphics than when set to 4k as there's less pixels to draw (process) on screen.

That's a good question,I'm not sure

From my testing - it seems that for smoothness, pop in and temp (how much the fan is spinning up on my ps4 pro) 1080p out put seems the best in my opinion.

I even tried 720p.. it seems just that the ps4 runs cooler this way but no visual benefit over 1080p, likely because the game will not render in 720p, only drops down to 1080p.

4k does look sharper, but only that. Everything else seems to suffer vs using 1080p. This is obviously personal preference though.

Just my input, wish they had the option in game vs having to set the resolution on the console itself but hey.. at least the option is there. Edit - I would also be very happy if we had a 720p 60fps option my eyes and brain are more forgiving on resolution vs frame rate.

I switched today from a HD ready 720 to a full hd tv just to get rid of the cut off screen problem.

720p makes it almost impossible to read the texts on screen.

If you adjust the area display settings in the PS4 menu does that help? Move the border arrows in a bit?
Shouldn't have to do that either because what you gonna do when you play another game (any other game that doesn't have the screen/display adjustment issue as ACC current has?)....Adjust the display area again when you go back to ACC?....and so fourths?
It's really ridiculous there's noting right now for users to adjust display fitting in ACC cropping out other important info one should be able to see on-screen.

Managed to get a 50 Euro 2nd hand philips TV that does not cut of the edges and is HD. Back on it!!!

My father says it looks excellent on his old slightly laggy European Phillips :)! I actually have a 40? inch one here hiding under my desk. I might have to get it out.

The more time I spend on this, the more I like it.

1st thing I did today was remove the rubber block from my G29 pedals... it made getting full brake force a pain. Still getting used to the brake again after doing this. Whilst they were apart I took the opportunity to remove around 50sqm of cat fur from the pots

Played about with the FF settings and now I understand what each one does, to a certain extent, I've found a combination I like... the mix of gain and dampening was key for me... if I run the dampening too low and the gain too high the car is difficult to keep on line as the wheel moves about too violently as the cars suspension moves over bumps. Too much dampening and too little gain leaves the steering too light. I'm using 85 gain and 20 dampening for the time being, but may go a bit higher on the gain... though I'm not one for high FF settings as they get in the way of making accurate steering inputs.

Massive thanks to @DozUk for something he posted yesterday - the correct steering rotation degrees for each car. When I tried the Porsche yesterday I couldn't do anything with it, but with the right rotation setting it's joyous to drive... used this to tick off Zolder and Bathurst... Bathurst in the Porsche felt fabulous. Now have a saved set up for each car.

Ticked off some more track experiences - only have Paul Ricard and Suzuka left now. Hopefully I never have to run Laguna or Misano ever again... hateful tracks... and not looking forward to doing Paul Ricard either as it must be one of the worst tracks in the world.

Spent a bit more time on the Bentley at Silverstone hot lap event. Managed to slash loads of time off my day 1 attempt... down to a high 1:58 now, with at least another 0.7s left. Also had a couple of tries at the Porsche event at Spa... err... couldn't get through Eau Rouge without spinning... if anyone's done this event successfully i'd appreciate any advice

Edit: nothing much there apart from "we hear you" etc

Thanks for the link bleeder. They acknowledged the performance/FPS issues and said they are looking into it - that's all we can ask for now i think. These things take time to optimise/fix. It can't be a hardware issue (lack of performance) because reducing the resolution from 4k to 1080p barely makes any difference and the game still stutters. Removing the (additional) graphics enhancements they made on 1080 to further help increase FPS should also be offered as an option (ideally to reach 60 fps if possible).

"FPS AND PERFORMANCE
We’ve seen a number of reports come through around performance issues and FPS drops, particularly with PS4 Pro and Xbox One X systems. Again, this is something our team are fully aware of and are looking into."

I honestly think that on paper.. in theory.. With some reduction of the polygons is has to draw that the PS4 pro should be able to run this game in 1080p 60fps, definitely with checkerboarding, I think they should aim for it since no one really cares about 4k if it costs frames. Hell I don't even want 4k on my ps5.

fov fix and key bindings, just watched a video on youtube by j sysum aka ratmaster 3 if you want to search it ,if you plug a keyboard into a xbox and press f2 opens up a secret menu full of key bindings for fov ,camera options and a help system its epic .just thought id share ,sorry unable to post link might work on ps4 as well

Having now spent a few days with the game it certainly is a mixed bag. Handling, physics, dynamic weather etc are all top notch. It took a while to dial in some wheel settings I like and thought I’d share my experience here. For context I’m running the digital edition as follows:

PS4 Pro
Boost mode on
Supersampling off
TM T300 base
TM Open Wheel
TM T-LCM pedals

If you’re running a T300, I’d definitely suggest setting the wheel base to 900 degrees and having a control preset by car. My settings are:

Gain: 85%-100% (car dependant)
Min force: 0%
Dynamic Damping: 100%
Road effects: 20%
Steer lock: (as per irl car)

Ferrari/McLaren - 480
BMW - 560
Lambo/Honda - 620
Lexus/Aston/Bentley/Nissan/Merc - 640
Jag/Audi/R-EX - 720
Porsche - 800

The above degrees will give you 1:1 with the on screen wheel. Therefore, I have 6 controller presets saved that I just load depending on which car I’m in. Should you have to do this? No. But until an auto 1:1 setting is available, it’s the best way.

I’m slowly adjusting to the frame rate the more I play but it’s far from stable. It also varies from track to track and from SP to MP. Obviously 60 would be the best answer however I’d be more than happy for a locked 30 across all tracks/modes compared to its current performance. The dips can be quite unbearable at times.

On the right track, with the right settings, it’s still great fun to play. It’s just such a shame the inconsistencies let it down. I’m grateful this has even made it to consoles in the first place and I really hope they can optimise the game via patches over the coming weeks/months.

That is so cool that keyboard and the menu is working the Xbox. I can't get the game to see the Keyboard on the PS4 at all though but een for general key binding. Seems bugged on PS4. But guess that'll work after a patch.

Hello guys,

To me it feels like there is a stability assist of some kind when cornering or coming up to corners, its like having full traction on and slows you down more than you need.

Any ideas how to get rid of this?

In the assists menu there is a stability assist that is set to 100 by default. Turn it to 0 if you have not already done so

That keyboard thing seems like dev option that was not disabled.

Just tried on ps4 pro and does not work. F2 does nothing. It might be a dev option they forgot to disable on Xbox? Or that streamer has a dev copy?

The game just doesn't pick up the keyboard on the PS4 at all, not even for keybindings which it should.. Normally games will do that. They've just messed something up with the PS4's keyboard input. I bet the menu is there if the keyboard detection was working. That youtuber got the menu from the Assetto corsa website so it's a standard menu. (On PC)

Hopefully yes. I would love to have FOV adjustment and my makeshift button box working.

When I try to start driving, the wheel (T500) jerks violently from side to side as I roll slow don the track. What's going on & what's the fix?
