I think it's fine to wait it out until they fix some things. But MAN.. it's some hell of fun at Bathurst in the rain with the traction control switched off.
I have been watching videos and reading reviews today and I am 0% on buying this game, and also think this game is heavily overrated and that's my opinion.

No problem, I'm not sure if it's overrated or not but it's definitely the best sim I have on my ps4. So from that perspective it's ok for me. In saying that I did buy it for PC last night.. And I don't even have a gaming PC.. But it was on sale.. so..

ACC should have been on PS5 and not PS4 with old technology.

Even if someone offered me a ACC disc for free, I still would't take it.

If you are having problems with visuals, check to see if it's your monitor/TV first before shouting that the game is useless.

Side note it's v1.01 there'll be issues and there'll be fixes,

Well like I always said. I only originally bought it for ps4 because I'm just around the corner from getting a PS5 and although not legally required to jump this to 60 frames on the PS5.. I'm sure they will. It's still worth having on PS4 for me.. For multiple reasons. In the meantime between now and PS5, I'll get my moneys worth of 30 frames. I was getting very tired of having so many sims on the PS4 that didn't handle correctly.. At least now I have something that drives well. Plus I've decided to buy all the good pc sims during steams sale this fortnight. It's a good game on ps4 but perfectly understandable if anyone wants to wait it out to see how it is on Ps5.

Having first had problems with the Steering Wheel (T300) on the base PS4 - an update of the firmware fixed the issue. No more insane shaking while going at 10 KM/H in a straight line and now there's actually a feel for what the car does. Feels great!

I especially appreciate that the setups of the cars I tried this morning just works out of the box. no need to fiddle around with settings for a few hours just to get something where a predictable behavior is a possibility.

only regret so far is that my own driving skills aren't consistent enough. But the solution to this problem is knows :D

And I decided to wait for complete edition with possible PS5 upgrade. Game will receive DLC after PS5 launch so i expect them to make some patch or new version for PS5. Game will still have support by then.

Game is just too buggy for now in my opinion.

I am not moaning about it and it is a free world and I can say what I like, so please grow up mate.

You absolutely have been since the day this game released on consoles.

Why dont you go eat your own words, its a free world remember.

I know more about the freedoms provided in this world than you ever will, so take a seat, grab a fork, and enjoy that slice of humble pie. Take it on the chin and move on. Since you're all "grown up" that shouldn't be a problem.

Stop attacking other people, he has an opinion, you have yours. You bought the game, he didn’t. So what?
It has absolutely nothing to do with the thread and will only end spiralling into insults. It achieves absolutely nothing. respect other people’s opinions or look away. There’s no value in this tit for tat rubbish.
We’re all gamers and racers. Just leave it and move on.

I think this game would be much better on current gen consoles if they just rebranded AC, refreshed the UI, added some GT3 cars, new tracks and called it a day

Then you would not have the wet weather driving and time of day transitions, which do add a lot to it.

Personally I am finding the game absolutely awesome on Xbox One X. It does seem that it plays better on Xbox than PS4. Perhaps that is adding a little to the frustration of PS4 owners that it is better on Xbox. The only issue I had is with the wheel being recognised and there is now a simple workaround for that so am very happy. It is silky smooth on my machine in 4k feeding a 60 inch OLED TV. I would say it matches GTS for visuals (I have a PS4 Pro too). However it betters it with the time of day transitions, night racing and way better audio on the cars. When they provide a proper fix to wheel connectivity it will be perfect.

I'm more than happy with it as well (PS4 Pro), the 30fps is noticeable when you move from the likes of PC2 or GTS to ACC, but I've found I can adapt to it very quickly and when you are well into a 20-minute race I'm not focusing on the frame-rate, but rather my own consistency.

This is a 60fps capture of ACC and PC2 side by side, but I will also be doing on against GTS as well.

Hmmm like an idiot i bought this after i initially cancelled my order....im on ps4 pro and OH MY GOD the horrible jerkiness, the horrible driving feel with wheel and pedals, and dare i say the even more horrible looking replays....this looks and plays like a game 15 years older than the first assetto corsa, which is super fluid and fantastic to play, lovely to drive etc....and has fantastic replays....

Also straight out of the box why are the gear paddles mapped to look left and right...huh?

The only thing i can say is nice is the sound, unless you use chase cam and it`s dead quiet...hmmmmmmm

What the heck....seriously...🤬👎👎👎👎👎

Also why cant you get rid of that race info top right of the screen, even when you turn HUD off...
I think you did what I did, bought the game because we wanted a new game and it had been a long time since a new racing game
Then why are you constantly in this section pissing and moaning about it?
I understand what you're saying but if you look at his posts, he's not actually reviewing the game or speaking negatively about a gameplay aspect that he hasn't experienced for himself. He's just repeated what many of us have reported

He wanted the game. He's been involved in these forums from day one of the announcement of the console version. Like you and me, and everyone else here, he was excited and hopeful. The reviews here and on all racing sites are quite the mixed bag. That gives him pause that maybe he shouldn't buy the game, despite his initial excitement.

Yes, he has said now, more than a handful of times that he's not buying the game or he's glad he hasn't purchased the game or he'll wait until it's patched for the better. I get that may be annoying to you but would you consider cutting him some slack?

He's one of us, part of our community of guys who are so interested in racing games that we frequent forums to talk about the games and share ideas and compare notes and even disagree at times. We are a relatively small concern here. Take the positive that he's at the very least not insulting other people, not demeaning other people. He's simply disappointed and expressing it, albeit quite often. Lol

The world has much bigger problems. Let these forums be a safe haven and light hearted. Peace

Why I posted to many times, I was very frustrated because I was really looking forward to play this game, and I am really sorry to everyone.

My biggest gripe with this game at the present time is the poor headlights during night...not sure if it is intentional due to lack of power on consoles but comparing pc to consoles is a clear difference.

I've checked and it isn't as if some lights aren't switched on for the console versions which might've indicated a bug. Hope they can fix or improve it as currently driving at night isn't fun for me...and day/night races are my favorite thing to do.

Personally I would've preferred them to reduce the graphics more to allow for 60fps...and I get the graphics are already worse than the pc version by quite a margin, but even though the 30fps isn't the be all and end all for me, I would've preferred 60 like anyone else.

Really hoping that they allow 60fps on ps5...otherwise I can see myself not playing this very long.

I don't see that you have anything to apologize for, your posts seem perfectly fine to me.
Although I would say that it's a bit odd calling a game overrated without having tried it. ;)

I’m loving the game on my PS4 Pro, the racing is excellent. No complaints from me and I’ve had no steering wheel problems. 30fps maybe isn’t ideal but it’s also not ruining my enjoyment of the game. I own all of the main PS4 racing games and this is by far the best car physics and sounds I’ve played.

Well....seems that framerate is better on base PS4 than on PS4PRO, 505games said they are aware of framerate problems, mostly on Xbox one X and PS4PRO..

So I don't see why PS4 players would complain and be frustrated

That it matches GTS visuals,I would say no,but Kunos don't really look forward to be eyecandy, they prefer look to physics, track accuracy and other aspects

Here's the proof that ACC is better on a base PS4 than a PS4PRO,and seems that Xbox one X also suffers a bit more, surely due some optimization problems.

My Xbox One X is not suffering at all. I have not seen a single bit of stuttering and I have driven laps just looking for stuttering. It really is as smooth as silk for me.

NIGHT LIGHTS - apparently the 24 Hr cars have extra lights for night running so are much better but I have not had the opportunity to try this.

CJ

@fordlaser no need to apologise!
We can see your just frustrated with how acc has launched.
Like yourself I was really looking forward to this unexpected release on current gen, as a long time ac player, as I was thinking I’d be waiting to ps5 to experience this undoubtedly top class sim.

I appreciate Kunos bringing this to console and really want it all to work out for them and hope that the negative feedback doesn’t put them off bringing acc to next gen console.
I hope they and other developers understand that there’s those among us that only play proper sims, or as close as is available on console and don’t want to switch to pc for the sheer frustration that accompany the damn things, having spent a big portion of our working lives stuck with them.

I’ll keep a good watch on this forum and may yet purchase before the two week deadline for free dlc as I’d like to support Kunos in the expectation that they’ll come good later with next gen patch and hopefully get frame pacing patch as matter of urgency in the more immediate future.

Also @Scaff roughly what fov is dash cam with no wheel?

I hope they don't just patch the current gen ACC for next gen. What I really want is a full port of the PC version - this would then mean Xbox, Playstation and PC were all on identical platforms and cross play would be a given at that stage - the effective size of the community would explode!

Hmmm, but the PS4 Pro is running at higher settings, correct? And the PS4 Pro appears to be capped at 32 so it's hard to say how high the fps actually goes.
Also, the frametimes seem a tad worse on the base PS4.

Also, map a button to 'cycle lights' rather than just 'light switch' and they'll have two beam intensities . The same is true for the windscreen wipers (three intensities).

Wow thanks for the video. Surely with better optimization they can give us an option on PS4PRO to have the same graphics as vanilla PS4 but run it at 60fps? I mean in a lot of instances PS4 runs at 40+ fps.

I figured from playing that the people porting the game overlooked a lot about the console itself.

For examples:
1. the fact that you can't plug the wheel in AND use the ds4 for the menus.

2. Having to map/bind all the buttons on the wheel, that's a very pc thing to do.

3. Not accounting for the wide range of TV sets with the weird screen alignment.

4. Not having the car set to auto start on default. We had to go into the menu to do it again very pc.

I'm sure they did many things like this throughout. I'm confident they can iron out the blatant wrinkles with fps smoothness, wheel errors, interface.

What they've made is amazing but it's rough. It's like discovering electricity, yeah it's great but work needs to be done. I'm sure they were contracted to release the game in this time frame which might have been a bad decision.
Re the screen alignment, yeah that needs to be addressed. They need to have some screen alignment or function for the entire screen to fit without some info being cropped out (eg: where the race duration countdown is). I thought it would have been worse but I was still able to see everything on mine with just a bit of the it cropped so Amen.

Re the engine auto start: I think mine was On by default.

A group of us who usually race in private lobby did a first run last night (in Multiplayer public lobby though...until Private lobbies become available).
Actually the experience was pretty ok. Better than I expected.
The engine sounds as everyone agree is amazing.
Finally having an in-game crew chief type spotter is a huge plus IMO. Though his audio definitely needs to be higher.
The video quality I thought would have been worse considering the complaints (fps or whatever) but it seemed ok.
Lag? Just noticed it an odd once or twice for the most.
Cockpit views....This was quite limited for viewing outside (the track etc) being too narrow height-wise. Dash takes up too much space and so too the top part where it's blacked out. This leaves very little space for the track and also leaves the track small. Bonnet cam is what I ended up having to use to see the track properly and at a decent size. Once I close that it was good.

But all in all it was better than expected.
