Really starting to enjoy it now , after spending time in the tv settings its smoother than before.

Just started the career with the 911GT3 and its a joy to lap around Zolder , only thing is how do I increase the difficulty ? Its a tad easy

Few comments on today's session...

1. WTF is up with the headlights? Do the cars have a couple of candles up front?
2. The Porsche is flipping awesome. Unless conditions are low grip. Then it's absolutely lethal.... oversteers like a 60's 911 on crossplys.
3. Paul Ricard is officially the worst track I've ever driven on.
4. The penultimate corner at Kyalami is a ****. That inside kerb could launch a Tesla rocket in to orbit.
5. Speaking of kerbs... I've watched Blancpain... the cars hammer the kerbs... try it in ACC and you're car actually becomes a Tesla rocket.
6. Grip levels vary massively from track to track... Bathurst and Zandvoort, for example, feel like driving on velcro, some of the others feel like sheet ice.

Now running dynamic dampening at 100. Also gone back to brake gamma of 1. The recommended 1.9 made trail braking very difficult.

Track experiences all done now, so I've kicked off career mode... driving for Porsche, obviously.

I've found in ACC that you can actually hammer a lot of the kerbs at a lot of the tracks, but that one at Kyalami you're on about is definitely one to avoid, it's basically just a sausage kerb with a 90 degree angle so by far the most awkward one...

Look at when he takes this corner, he takes the tiniest bit of that kerb and it makes the front end bounce, if he went even a tiny bit further right he'd be launching the car...

LOL. In practice I took a little too much of the first corner at Zolder and the next thing I saw was just blue sky.

The game just gets better and better for me, every time I get in a slide I remember back to some incident or another when I'd been sliding down the highway in my car in real life.. Back in the youth.. and I'm like YES! this is correct, this is proper physics. I never had these flashbacks with an other sim before. i would love to have a sim like this with more cars in it.. some with a bit more balls and less grip would be amazing.

I found Zolder to be pretty similar to PC2 other than the last slow chicane, where the PC2 version has this weird almost bowl-like dip that upsets almost every single car even when you're taking the 'proper' line (ie. the line the real guys can take)... the ACC laser scanned one is much easier to deal with.

I watch a lot of IMSA racing. I personally attended the Rolex 24 with a pit pass as my son in law is connected to racing.

I was amazed at how hard and how fast these cars hit the kerbs, lap after lap after lap. I didn't see a single car get overly unsettled. I told my son in law that I wish when I hit the kerbs in PC2 that my car would stay so planted.

Side note- I go to Road America almost every year for the IMSA race, it's a blast. We befriended the JDC team a few years ago, they're from Savage, MN. It's been fun to go in the garage and get the insider tours and info.

And yeah, they just pound a few of those kerbs at RA too.

Anybody any experience of buying a PS4 copy from Argos??? Does the dlc come in the box?

Why would you not just order the digital copy? Its guaranteed to have the dlc, and its available right away? Just curious? Plus, no disc to deal with

@JustMac Regarding the night lights or headlights, the two beam intensities you mentioned (I'm assuming Low and High beams) are they available for all cars or just some?
Reason for asking: I have the night lights/headlights selected as in Default to turn on automatically and it did turn on automatic while driving at night yesterday. However I (we) found it didn't shine much light at all on the track for better visibility (basically had to tip-toe round the track). It was as though it was on low beam. If it is one can cycle the beam (Low-High) via an assigned/mapped button that would be greatly appreciated and I would do it. So can you (or anyone else) confirm if this cycling beam feature is available for all cars or just some?
It appears all of the cars have it, it does increase visibility slightly but it isn't exactly dramatic. I read before this is the case for racecars so as to not blind drivers ahead. People complain about this in the PC version too!

For me.. I just like to own something rather than nothing for my money. Simple as that really. A physical copy always has some value while a digital copy has none. I also don't like to give in to the rulers that would very much like every transaction made to be final and no secondhand trading allowed (which ultimately gets them more sales).. I don't like to let those malicious powers win :0. Just how I am.

Does the m6 only have one dashboard? I seem to be unable to view the secondary dashboard that shows the tyre and brake temps...

even better... is there a way of bringing up the telemetry? That way i wouldn’t need to view it on the dashboard

There's no telemetry page but you can bind a button in the control options which allows you to see the next page on the Motec display.

I'm more than happy with it as well (PS4 Pro), the 30fps is noticeable when you move from the likes of PC2 or GTS to ACC, but I've found I can adapt to it very quickly and when you are well into a 20-minute race I'm not focusing on the frame-rate, but rather my own consistency.

This is a 60fps capture of ACC and PC2 side by side, but I will also be doing on against GTS as well.

Exactly this. That's how I approached PC2. It isn't GT graphics, but just making sure I hit my marks, kept pace to the Ai and overall, just finish the race in one piece. It's been my goal in every racing game other than GT.

ACC is more of this. The game even says racing clean is paramount and bringing the car back to the pits in one piece.

my digital version game will still not connect to servers. Was thinking of deleting and reinstalling, I did look again in ps store and now they have a different looking version for $5 less ???????

I believe all sprint cars (marked with SP on the car selection screen) only have the low beams. When you select an endurance car/team (E3H, E6H or E24H) you will see extra lights on the car model, which are high beams. The car selection screen also lets you toggle (turn on/off) between the different lights: DRL, low, high. I assume DRL means driving lights.

Has anyone else noticed how the game looks worse the higher the sun is in the sky? At 6am, or after 6pm, the game really looks quite nice, but the moving jaggies present during sunlight hours (particularly from foliage/trees) makes me feel disorientated, and the lighting is generally ugly. It makes the lower frame rate more apparent too.

Anyone with a TV I would highly recommend lowering the sharpness setting; I wish I could but alas I game on a monitor with no such settings.

Did a full race weekend, at Zolder. Great experience.
Started with practice, since a long time had passed since I had last raced there. Such a great track, once you learn it.

Ended up getting lots of PS trophies as well (5, I think?), which was nice.

Yes it's much smoother with a few settings changed on TVs and the sharpness is a big one. For anyone that still has a HD rear projector CRT laying around I would try it on that, it should be dead smooth on one of those.
