I've had pretty bad Tinnitus that gets worse and reacts to some sounds and the Aston makes it.

I don't know if it's something other noticed, but I have the Sony PS4 headset and the default sound is way too high.

I have the UI sounds to default 100, tyres to 100 and then all engine sounds to 40 and damage to 20.

I'll give those settings a try, might help that gearbox whine stay out of my brain which already has something similar :)

Yes assign the cycle lights function. Automatic does not appear to work properly.
I have the game fired up right now and in OPTIONS/CONTROLS. Looking at the section "LIGHTING SYSTEM".
Which in the list is the binding to map in order to cycle through the headlight beams? Is it
CYCLE LIGHT STAGES
or
ENABLE RAIN LIGHT

or something else?

Yes cycle light stages. Rain lights are the rear lights.

I changed my sound settings to these. Much better for being able to hear all the little details in the car and track rather than being blasted by engine and gearbox. I can drive faster like that. It's nicer... I've legit played it all night until the sun came up (just now) and only with the controller too. Hopefully can drive on the wheel tonight.

Played the game this afternoon for first decent session (had been too hot previously) and I’m loving the feel of the game.

Only used the Ferrari so far, but now got 3 stars track competency at each track (only had to learn 2 from scratch), and ready for a race and some ai.

Just seen about time of day affecting graphics so gonna give that a try too and reduce sharpness on tv

Ps does anyone know what the fov setting is on the cockpit cam with just dash (as I’m liking it)!
The dash cam , helmet cam, cockpit cam are all the same FIV from what I can tell. It looks to be anywhere between 65-70.

For some reason, out of all the tracks, Eau Rouge is the only section(out of every track I've raced in this game) the fame rate severely drops. must be 5FPS. It happens every lap. No other track experiences any frame rate drop when I'm playing. Weird.

I started doing races today against the AI rather than just lapping around.. Once you really get playing and forget about the flaws and limitations.. This game is _mental_ good. Like so good I don't think I'll play another sim on my ps4 in a long long time, maybe never. I'm driving the Aston because this last year I've had pretty bad Tinnitus that gets worse and reacts to some sounds and the Aston makes it.. least bad:). So then I can still concentrate on driving.

I drove the Aston for the first time this afternoon, yeah it's pretty sweet.

I still haven't noticed any stuttering and I don't really know what frame drop looks like so it might be doing it but it's so subtle I just don't notice it.

Trying to find a right AI strength is a little difficult. It seems to be super sensitive. 85 and I can nearly lap the field 90 puts me right solid mid pack or maybe I can finish top half but the front two AI are way too strong. 88 and I can still make passes pretty easily and if I start top 5 I'll finish 40 seconds or so ahead of 2nd place. I like using the random starting place option on most all racing games.

But overall I'm starting to really like this game. I'll definitely take more of this.

Proper loving this now I’ve got my wheel settings right. Graphics wise it’s just full sunlight during the day that makes it look a little dated. Dawn, dusk, rain (heavy rain especially) the game looks stunning to me. And the sounds... The most realistic sounds ever. Just sitting in the pits is a joyous experience in this with the other cars pounding round. It’s glorious, even it’s current state. Things can only get better!

In your own video, between 0:15 and 0:20, look at how the background pans while you're taking the turn. It's not fluid; it stutters.

Basically, all panning movements in this game suffer from severe stuttering. Most noticeable in replays.

That's it?? I would never notice something like that unless it's pointed out to me. Now trees popping in on PCars2 was more noticeable to me.

I haven't been able to get to the wheel yet but I can easily win races on 85 with the controller. Can't get close on 90.. No clue if I'll be able to win on 90 with the wheel.. it seemed pretty fast from what I saw with the controller. There is a _very_ big difference between 85 and 90.. Just to explain how addictive the game is.. I did 1000km around Bathurst over night... instead of being asleep lol

On 90 with the wheel im over 2 sec faster in qually at Zolder. (T300RS)

Im in the low 1:31.xxx and at 90 they're running 1:34s

Im trying 94 now to see.

At 94 they are running 1:31.8xx at Zolder in qually.

Trying 96 now to see. I want them around 1:31.5xx to be right around my pace.

So on 96 difficulty they are running 1:31.0xx

So it looks like 95 will be the difficulty for me.

If my calculations are correct then every 1 step on difficulty they are 0.4s faster.

Tonight I’ve been comparing night racing in terms of lighting and graphics to pCARS2.
Wow what a difference in immersion and realism. Mercedes, Spa.
Just try that out.

when you see those trailers of night racing in new games, ACC is it. Just nails it.
Really impressive effects IMO.

And I like pCARS 2, not trying to slam it at all. It looks amazing at times, The skyscapes especially.

I struggle to see anything at night in PS4 version, the headlights need to be much brighter! Could be my old TV or need to play with TV settings, but staying away from night races for now

True, ACC really nails that type of airglow and atmospheric light you get at night.

Last night I was practice lapping at Kyalami, 8pm at 1x. It's something else.

Talking about Kyalami, how good of a track is that! I remember it from its previous guise on SBK 2000 on PC but they’ve done such a good job with the new layout. Perfect for GT3 racing. Starting a race at 6am with the golden sun rising is just so good. Misano is one of my favs too.

Out of interest, what times are people running on Kyalami? I’ve managed to get into the high 1:40’s with the Bentley (excellent stable car). Unsure if that’s quick or not!

I started a mini championship at 90 AI and am qualifying roughly 1.5s quicker than them. Did a last to 1st in a 10 mins race so need to go higher myself. Wish we could adjust AI race to race like F1 or pCARS

Has anyone else noticed how the game looks worse the higher the sun is in the sky? At 6am, or after 6pm, the game really looks quite nice, but the moving jaggies present during sunlight hours (particularly from foliage/trees) makes me feel disorientated, and the lighting is generally ugly. It makes the lower frame rate more apparent too.

Anyone with a TV I would highly recommend lowering the sharpness setting; I wish I could but alas I game on a monitor with no such settings.

Thanks for this post - much improved now changed time from midday and I’ve got tv so could reduce sharpness a lot and much improved. The lighting at dusk is also rather nice!

I thought it was always recommended to run your tv with any sharpness or processing turned off? I think game modes tend to do this in any case
