Anyone notice that even when you set the gearbox to manual they still change automatically for the Lamborghini trial at the start of career mode? Why is it doing this?!

Personally I am finding the game absolutely awesome on Xbox One X. It does seem that it plays better on Xbox than PS4. Perhaps that is adding a little to the frustration of PS4 owners that it is better on Xbox. The only issue I had is with the wheel being recognised and there is now a simple workaround for that so am very happy. It is silky smooth on my machine in 4k feeding a 60 inch OLED TV. I would say it matches GTS for visuals (I have a PS4 Pro too). However it betters it with the time of day transitions, night racing and way better audio on the cars. When they provide a proper fix to wheel connectivity it will be perfect.

It us a strange one, but I have a PS4 pro and I pre ordered the game and picked up the hard copy on launch day. Installed it and it ran like a bag of scanners. Frame rate was choppy, replays were stuttering etc. It was basically unplayable and then the fame crashed when trying to choose another car from the lambo.

I ended up returning the game because the dlc was not included (as I was lex to believe) this was down to the retailer pulling all dlc codes for some strange reason.

So I but the bullet and purchased it via the PS store on digital with ths dlc included.

And this is the strange thing, it runs 100% better and I am hooked as I knew I would be

All that is needed now is to upgrade my wheel and get those lap times lower

Well I bought digital on Pro and it runs awful.
I know there are different models of Pro so maybe this has something to do with it.

make Sure to aknowledge your setting.

This counts for all settings

Really enjoying this game! Once you get past the frame rate and lock in Oh baby!!! I really hope GT adapts some of this on ACC! If this ran at 60 fps this would be an amazing game, let’s hope they can try to fix it later with an update.

Same! Coming from playing GT all my life, it's insane how good the AI is in this game. I love playing online but in ACC you can have real fun even just playing agains the AI to be fair.

Bro right now I’m just hot lapping learning the tracks, cars, and physics I’m really amazed how good this is! Obviously we know this game has the frame rate issue but once you lock in it’s beautiful! Sometime I catch moments where the frame rate doesn’t drop and it’s steady, let me tell you those are bliss moments lol! The sounds are just amazing in this game, hearing the sounds bounce off the wall oh baby!! Very glad I got this game and if it helps support them I’m all for that! Let’s hope they can try to fix the frame rate as much as they can.

Played for 3 hours last night, just one car, the 720s ( what a joy ) and two tracks- Barthust and Kyalami, what a bloody track! I cant stress this enough though, avoid playing with the sun high in the sky, or when the sun is white. I did a test at Zolder, 6am with 24x multiplyer and I had few issues with fsp and as soon as the sun turn white the issues were very apparent, unplayable almost. The 720S is a beast with the sound, this game is ready to be a 10/10 but I doubt it can be until next gen.

Few comments on today's session...

2. The Porsche is flipping awesome. Unless conditions are low grip. Then it's absolutely lethal.... oversteers like a 60's 911 on crossplys.
5. Speaking of kerbs... I've watched Blancpain... the cars hammer the kerbs... try it in ACC and you're car actually becomes a Tesla rocket.

.
2. I'm glad someone else experienced this. I kept losing the back end in the wet around some corners at Barthurst, wondered wtf was going and and kept checking my tyres but no problem there. Took me a lap or two to adapt. Sweet car.

5. I've noticed it's only some kerbs that you must avoid. I've seen real GT3 drivers talk about how the Ferrari 488 us the best GT3 cars and handles kerbs like they're not there. Which would suggest they do have an affect on other cars.
Hmm I think people should certainly leave the house and get away from their consoles, pc's etc, for a period to take some time outdoors and get a break from listening to fear mongering media and politicians on this whole 'pandemic' farse. Surely that sounds a fairly sensible or reasonable thing to do?
Totally agree, well said.
Has anyone else noticed how the game looks worse the higher the sun is in the sky? At 6am, or after 6pm, the game really looks quite nice, but the moving jaggies present during sunlight hours (particularly from foliage/trees) makes me feel disorientated, and the lighting is generally ugly. It makes the lower frame rate more apparent too.
.
Glad someone else has noticed, hopefully this too can be made a sticky so no one overlooks it.
I want to play it more but any length on it make my eyes feel like they’ve been cleaned with a wire brush.
Try the above, it makes a huge difference. Also try a database rebuild, others have said it helps.

I believe all sprint cars (marked with SP on the car selection screen) only have the low beams. When you select an endurance car/team (E3H, E6H or E24H) you will see extra lights on the car model, which are high beams. The car selection screen also lets you toggle (turn on/off) between the different lights: DRL, low, high.
Thanks. So how does it work in order to get the high beam at night, for optimum visibility of course? Say for example, if you have in the options/settings (as I have) headlights set to turn on automatically would the highest beam available be turned on automatically?.... or would you have to cycle through the intensities via assigning a button in order to so do?

Does anyone know whether the ecu fuel map actually makes a difference to fuel consumption and engine performance? in the Nissan GTR i am noticing no different between setting 1 and setting 4... i can't even work out which of these is supposed to be the leaner setting...

Yes assign the cycle lights function. Automatic does not appear to work properly.

Are all of the cars themselves evenly matched or does it make a difference if you pick a pro team or a pro/am team or a full am team? In other words are all Porsches equal or is the pro team the strongest Porsche?

So being a bit ignorant to the different series in the game 2018/2019 and World,

Am I at some disadvantage online if I pick the wrong car?

Except for the Porsche Cup car, are the others close enough? Or are the Worlds slower/faster vs the 2019s?

Got my first error message today, PS4. The game has decided to give me a new save data error message whenever I try to save a setup.

The strange thing is it still appears to be actually saving, it's just the PS4 error screen pops up whenever I save.
Also happens when I exit current session and the game auto saves.

Maybe I biased at this point as I'm having a blast with this game, but hey, if on next gen they fix the frame rate and can bump the graphics up, oh my world, this is thing is going to blow the entire genre up on console!
I hope they release a direct port of the PC version. I'd be very disappointed if we just got a "next gen" friendly patch for the current console version.

A single version of the game across PC, PS and Xbox would open up the community massively via cross platform play.

Definitely, I noticed hot-lapping at night at Laguna Seca that the FPS was actually rock-steady at 30 and it was just great, if they could make it a consistent 30 and iron out the wheel issues this thing would be phenomenal.

I started doing races today against the AI rather than just lapping around.. Once you really get playing and forget about the flaws and limitations.. This game is _mental_ good. Like so good I don't think I'll play another sim on my ps4 in a long long time, maybe never. I'm driving the Aston because this last year I've had pretty bad Tinnitus that gets worse and reacts to some sounds and the Aston makes it.. least bad:). So then I can still concentrate on driving.

Played the game this afternoon for first decent session (had been too hot previously) and I’m loving the feel of the game.

Only used the Ferrari so far, but now got 3 stars track competency at each track (only had to learn 2 from scratch), and ready for a race and some ai.

Just seen about time of day affecting graphics so gonna give that a try too and reduce sharpness on tv

Ps does anyone know what the fov setting is on the cockpit cam with just dash (as I’m liking it)!

Every time I throw in pCARS2 or GTS or even AC for comparison laps I never last long. I’d much rather be playing ACC.

I just can’t get enough how it feels, and I love the helmet cam in this. It’s so damn good.
