In my experience, “cycle lights” only turns them on or off, and there is no “ hi beam” for better visability. I would imagine this is a bug and will be fixed. As it is now, it’s very difficult to see anything at night
Well that settles that. Quite a bummer.

This depends on which car you’re driving as some cars don’t have a high beam only the enduro cars have them. But what I’ve read from the PC users is the lights are still not as bright on the console version, seems like the console version has different lighting and hope they patch it. I also noticed Dave perel said the game seems a bit darker in some places compared to PC version, specifically the black wheels of his car when viewing in car selection menu.

Will just add to this that yes, some cars don’t have a high beam, but the cycle lights button when mapped does work. The Lambo I was using must have been an endurance version. It cycled between off (daylight running lights only), low beam and high beam.

But as I said before makes no real difference to the light in front of you when lapping on your own. It spreads it to the side a bit more and when in close proximity to a car in front, lights then up more too.

What do you like about the AI? Im thinking of getting this on PS4 soon so i need to hear the positive aspects hehe.
The AI keep pace. No brake checking. They give room. I have it set at 90/90. If I make a few mistakes, they pounce. If stay consistent, I can start pulling away. Not much, but helps me to catch up to the cars ahead.

I miss the static camera though.

I'll also add that they won't play innocent and will bite back if a space is already theirs and you try to force your way into it.

It's great stuff, even better than what AC already was (after the update).

Do you guys get any online races in quick join? I just get 0 servers available...haven't been able to join a single online race...which sucks. It was one of the main reasons I got this game...the online racing.

Finally got the game and did a little test drive. Some things that I noticed on a base ps4:
  1. Game looks better than it did on the streams/videos I watched beforehand
  2. Game runs way worse than I thought it would
I swear in 10 laps around Brands the game did not hit over 20 fps a single time . Not unplayable but unpleasant for sure. Hopefully they’ll find a way to fix these performance issues asap.

I’ve just been clicking on the “Server List” option and picking rooms that way, they seem to fill up quickly once you jump into one. 👍

Bathurst has some serious issues for me. However the other tracks I have tried haven't been too bad at all.

Granted it may be not realistic to have street lights on poles on tracks other than along road/city tracks but it may have helped somewhat if even they had lights hovering over the billboards or whatever on other race tracks to avoid them being pitch black. On the two tracks I've races so far at night I have seen no lighting whatsoever. I'm sure I noticed some illumination on tracks in other racing games at night.
And to make it worse the rear lights on cars don't even light up so if you're driving behind a car it's difficult to see the car in front.

Monza has lights on the back straight before the final corner, that’s the only night track I’ve tried so far. :)

When I turned the game on earlier it had deleted everything that I'd saved. All settings, control options, car setups.
Was like the first time I booted it up. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.

Also, and for the first time, I'm getting the dreaded horrendous stutter through Eau Rouge. Had to quit the race.

Great fun all the same though!

I think the reason I'm having a hard time coming up with a AI strength is that their pace is more real than any other game I've played so far. In both Forza 7 and PCars2 one or two AI cars will set some completely unrealistic opening 2 or 3 laps and get out to a huge lead but in the back half or so of a race they will slow down dramatically so you can be catching them as the race closes. ACC doesn't seem to do that. The lead AI sets a more realistic pace and maintains it so if the AI number is too high I'll never catch it but if it's too low I'll pass him early depending on where I start and win by a bigger gap. At Suzuka I got to P2 about halfway through a 30 minute race and I was about 6 seconds behind the leader but he just kept hitting consistent half a second or so quicker laps than I could do and I ended up finishing about 10 seconds back but in turn I was about 7 seconds or so ahead of P3.

It's almost like I'm going to have to abandon my usual preferred random starting position and approach it more as if I want to start in this position say P10 and want to do some passing, then AI needs to be at this number. If I want to start top 5 it needs to be at this number. And it also might be track dependent but I haven't driven all of the tracks yet to see if that's the case or not.

We should petition for static cam to return, I love that cam. Better yet let us edit replay cams.

Rather than run at 20fps it jumps between 30 and 45 on base PS4. Try playing with the sun set low in the sky for now until they improve it, it runs better than in bright daylight.

Here is a quick lap around Bathurst with the Ai. I'm the 488 with the lights off

Speaking of lights, this was a woah wtf moment. Needs to be addressed asap.

Quick 5 minute race at Nurb GP(cloudy, 19:00) in the #24 R8.

Notice the TCS and ABS lights flashing.

Hi,nice race! Btw, what are your Hud settings?

No need to fix lights in sense you mean:

But they have to fix the light beam to see more, thats true

Everything off that can be turned off. Still haven't found a way to turn off the position display at the left bottom.

My Look Left/Look Right are ∆/X. I need those functions on my right stick.
