No configurations I have tried allow me to run LCS (before update and now) on my Pico Neo 3 link. The image is crushed blacks and fairly high highlights. Gamma looks great (inc. latest version) but I really want to try LCS in VR as the flat version looks superb and I was hoping to see the same improvements in VR.

Anyone running Neo 3 link over DP and have success with LCS?

excuse me going off-topic a bit (hope it is allowed since there is no Solar Crown thread) , but anyone like me I preordered Solar Crown, only to realize later that it has no VR support ?

I'm sure there will be ways to enjoy it in VR with modding... ,
here is already someone figured out one way :

(havent tried this myself yet ...
if you do try it , share your thoughts!
or if you find an even better way, please share)

I'm thinking about upgrading my current pc to get better performance with VR (in AC mainly)
(I know next gen NVidia and AMD cards will arrive soon, but then I'd have to also buy a whole new pc... )
my specs: Gigabyte x570, Corsair 850w Gold, 32gb ddr4 3600, Ryzen-9 5950x, Gigabyte 3070ti Vision OC 8G
oh and using Quest3 via Link cable

Max i can fit in my current case are either one of these 2 cards:
GIGABYTE Radeon RX 7900 XTX GAMING OC 24G (950 EUR new at the local pc shop)
or
ASUS ProArt GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER OC 16GB (new 1250 EUR , but I can buy a second hand with still over a year of warranty, for 1000 EUR)

I'm on the fence to get the AMD or pay a little more and get the NVidia one.

The 7900 has more GDDR6 ram (24) , but the 4080 Super has GDDR6X , which is supposed to be better...

Any thoughts / suggestions (pref. from people with experience w either of these cards , w AC on Quest 3 ) to help me decide?

I have a PC with a 4080 (i7 14700K, 32gb) and it works very well for me. I don't have a Q3 but a Reverb G2 which is a bit more demanding and I have it configured at 100% supersampling resolution (around 3100 X 3100) and both CPU and GPU are relatively comfortable (60-70% load) in normal configurations (I mean, daytime races, grids of up to 40-50 cars). It maintains a constant 90 fps without motion reprojection (I think that's what it's called ASW in Quest?). I've always read, especially on the CSP Discord, that AMD GPUs are not recommended for VR, especially since they don't support many technologies that NVIDIA does have (SPS and others that I can't remember now).

Reminder to any Win 11 Reverb G2 users out there to consider turning off automatic updates (at the risk of losing security updates unless you manually check for them, of course) so that you remain on version 23H2 and don't get automatically updated to 24H2, which is rolling out as we speak and could (and reportedly WILL) stop your G2 from working with immediate effect, and NOT in Nov 2026 as you might previously have thought.

Seems like the official MS Win 11 downloads page is already updated to 24H2, so making an official 23H2 backup ISO now (in case you get 24H2 and it bricks your G2) might be tricky.
24H2 seems to be the only version on offer.

23H2 archives can be found on unofficial sites, but these obviously carry significant risk.

... aaaaaand mild panic just now because Windows decided to update itself, despite being told not to automatically update.
The G2 is still working though so it couldn't have been the dreaded 24H2 update.
Not gonna lie though, pants were slightly shat.

With an AMD Ryzen 5 5600, RTX 4060 Ti 8GB, and 32GB of RAM, will it be possible to run Assetto Corsa smoothly in VR (quest2) with decent frame rates and settings? What kind of performance should I expect, and are there any recommended tweaks to optimize the experience?

Hi and welcome ! Yes it will run fine, but I recommend you stick to 72Hz and set the slider to max resolution (in Meta Quest Link app).
In Oculus Debug Tool be sure to set the following:
1728860015956.png

* for Visible HUD you can temporarily set this to Performance overview to see if you have any application framedrops while driving a lap or 2...
You can then play with other settings in CM (to get to where you want to be visually, and still have good performance without stutter).
Meaning you should get a steady 72 FPS in the headset with reasonable clarity.

In Assetto Corsa settings , VIDEO I would recommend you to start out w something like this :
1728860463564.png

and then change only 1 thing at a time and see how it impacts (also in CSP settings)
So do not change multiple things at once.
That way you will know what works to your favor and what not.

Good luck! :)

The Reverb G2 is a great headset (apart from the tiny sweet spot) but it can be annoying at times.
I often get this error (maybe 25% of the time) which a PC reboot solves (it's easier for me than getting to the back of the PC to unplug/replug the G2 cables, which is another fix).

1729509315339.png

I thought it was a HMD or cable issue, but I got a third G2 (first had a badly chipped lens, second was bought at risk with a fault, and HMD or cables never worked, the third seems OK) so am able to mix and match two sets of cables. Seems to be just a fairly common G2 connection issue.
The other annoyance is the G2 hijacking my audio and sending everything through the headset just because I want to use it solely for Crew Chief.
Having to keep doubletapping Win-Y when the headset sleeps also seems unnecessary.
The time it takes for WMR splash screens to load in is also slightly annoying.
In many ways the G2 is fantastic but I'm NOT going to miss all the WMR baggage when it finally dies and needs a different option.
Hopefully by then we'll have more options, but I bet every single one will have some stupid design decision that will be a daily annoyance (eg the Crystal Light's ridiculous 1m focal length).

It’s a strange thing on the 1M focus. I thought I would have had a problem with it due to having cataracts done in both eyes. I now have distance lenses fitted but also wear variafocals for driving in real life. But I don’t need to. But in VR with the Pimax Crystal I use it straight out of the box. No glasses or lenses. No problem with vision. Perhaps I’ve just been lucky

If your eyes can focus happily at 1m without glasses then you'll be fine. For me without my reading glasses, it's a little too close.
The 2m standard that most other HMDs use (G2 included) is perfect for me.
Unless you DO usually need glasses at 1m distance?
In that case, the Crystal Light might be OK for me after all.
Wish there was one local that I could test.

Yes ashame you don’t live closer.

Probably the wrong place to post this but am i the only one having issues since the last steam VR update a couple of days ago?
Having difficulty getting a display in the headset on my G2. Works fine on the monitor but all i see is the mountain range on the headset. It is not constant and now has more chance of working if the display is at home, which i have never ever had to use before.

Using a G2 and had no problems recently so I guess it is something your end.

G2 here as well, no issue. Are you using open composite or steam vr?
For me steam vr does not even launch. No problem for me as if the game does not support OC I don’t play it.

They must be doing this deliberately to troll us.
Once again, a very promising new PCVR HMD that seems to tick all the boxes... then shoots itself firmly in the foot.
This time: fresnel lenses.
In late 2024.
On a brand-new HMD.

I wish I was joking.

Tried OC but could never get it to work for me plus i had fine tuned my G2 using steam settings along with cps settings to the point that i was getting a nice steady good looking 90fps. All that went bad for me a few days ago when it would refuse to render on the headset but not everytime but 8 out of 10 times which made it worse to find the issue. I thought it was WMR as i find that glitchy so i fresh downloaded it, still the same.
Anyway, to cut a long story short i think i have OC running now.
If i may ask you a few questions please......i am getting the broken glass screen now in blue and it kinda loads three times which i think is correct?
I now have an even better and very smooth view but it is now probably running at around 85 fps which i guess is a different res. than my steam app.
So, my issues right now are ....having trouble getting into the openxr toolkit {tried the 3 and down} and how do i stop CM from closing when i leave a drive?
Thank you for any help you can give me .

Yes, mine is the same.

Good question, @Masscot had the same issue at some point, I did not, so not sure why.

You might want to map the controls in Open XR tool with the arrows instead of the numbers, it makes it easier to use.

They finally made me sign up, should of used my post name Steve Hayward but too late now. Anyway,
Thanks guys, am making progress now.
Well, one step forward and one step back at the moment.
First issue, switched off pc and first time i used it Steam tried to take back control. How do I stop that?
Had nice image in the beginning which I kept tweeking until my pc started to complain and no matter how much I try to wind it back my fps is still crap and cannot find an easy way to reset?
Override resolution set to 'no'? what is it based on as in where does it get it's pixel count from?
I really do appreciate the help i am getting here guys and I probably should of done this before.
If anyone has a 3080 and 5800x3d I would be very interested in your settings with the G2.
I have decided to use the cps settings I have, one because I like them and two because the less chasing down another rabbit hole the better i think.

Ok, to say this is doing my head in would be an understatement. I have worked out the steam taking control issue and have worked out override resolution is 100%. My totally tanked fps is now my only issue. My GPU and CPU are both running at way over 100% when not even moving on track in both steam and OC. It maxes out at 60fps whatever i alter and it judders away like hell. I just tried a drive on monitor and havs 155fps so it is something VR related. I have tried to find the draw but with no luck. Any ideas please?

Try this https://www.overtake.gg/threads/bet...for-medium-pc-csp-preset.275270/#post-3809800 as a base, it’s for very low hardware. Or use this https://docs.google.com/document/d/1q-taJt5q9oKWPuCB63rbAC6ZzlZMxqjworgpc10ETDE/mobilebasic

For testruns disable non Kunos apps/mods and use the kunos only tracks & cars.

Your problem could be that you are using a hidden contra productive adjustment somewhere in the being obese and unnecessary complex CM. So you have to go back to the basic settings for VR.
Using the same adjustments in SteamVR and OpenXR toolkit did in my specific case shows no difference in both eye-candy nor performance wise. Only with SteamVR it’s always troublesome with all kinds of unneeded popups like virtual keyboards and steam GUI, that force you to take off you’re VR HS.

If someone with similarly appropriate hardware would reply to your earlier request then the issue might get solved very quickly. It only takes a moment to share settings via Content Manager. The settings for my 4080 and Intel CPU are probably too high (most things are maxed out), but I could share them later when at my rig if you want.
The key to great VR performance in the G2 is the OpenComposite and OpenXR config though, this is where the real gains are made.

I run a G2 with a 6800XT which is pretty much identical performance to a 3080 so I am happy to share my settings.

1. I use CSP version 0.2.5-preview1
2. I use the latest Pure
3. I use LCS not Gamma (that is automatically selected if you load in my settings file below)
4. I don't use SteamVR I use OpenXR - https://mbucchia.github.io/OpenXR-Toolkit/

In-car OpenXR toolkit settings

Performance Mode -
CAS On
CAS 70%
Turbo Mode On

Appearance -
Post Processing Off
System Override Resolution Yes - (2837x2763 gives me solid 90fps driving hot lap Ferrari GTO at Brands Hatch GP at noon)
Motion Reprojection Off

Here are my other settings - NOTE: I have Anisotropic Filtering forced on at x16 in my GPU software

Click on this to import my CSP settings if you wish

and manually edit the Settings-Assetto Corsa-Video as per the image above

I don't claim to have the best settings and rather drive than spend endless hours tinkering with them but I hope this helps.
If not get back to us.

I just unticked Full screen in Settings-Assetto Corsa-Video as per an @Masscot post about crashing to desktop after exit the car and ended up with the same symptoms you describe above so maybe that is the whole problem.

Thanks to all of you who are trying to help me with this really strange issue.
I was ready to put an axe through the entire system earlier today.
I am sure now it is not a settings issue.
All i can achieve even with a slot to see through and res turned down to 1000x1000 is 60fps. The cpu is running at 130% and GPU is also in the red. I have re downloaded openxr toolkit, OC, openxr for windows tool kit and i even deleated windows mixed reality portal not knowing if it was still on the app store. I have tried with toolkit shut down, PP shut down, cps to older versions and nothing changes....However, earlier i noticed skybox reflections had moved to 150%. Strange and does not do much anyway so i moved it to default where it belongs and hey presto, relaunched and now back to my solid 90fps!!!!
Unfortunately, not the end of the story, as soon as i started using openxr toolkit the problem came back for christ sake!
Possibly not related, my audio keeps reverting back to 50% from my 100% setting.
Using my monitor the system does not even brake into a sweat, maxed out settings and cpu 20%, gpu 40%, over 155fps even though i set the max to 144fps.
A real mess it seems
