You have to bear in mind that pCARS is so badly unoptimised, that in its current state, you cannot compare it to a finished product. For example, on my PC, pCARS runs at 1440x900 with low everything (car detail on high) at 20-30fps. F1 2012 on the other hand runs at 1680x1050 at high detail with 4xAA at 50-60fps. I think your laptop will run pCARS, but possibly only on release.

That's what I was hoping. Kunos seem to be really good at optimizing things so hopefully I can at least run AC at minimum.

New video! Two laps of Imola in the Formula Abarth.

Man, this guy actually has good speakers so we can really hear it, This Abarth sounds AWESOME. And it looks like it's gonna be a hell of a good time to race.

I think the thing that impresses me the most is the suspension physics. Love the way the cars bounce around on the imperfections in the road. 👍

With that said, that car seemed glued to the ground. Wonder if there were any assists on and/or different tires.

Well it's a high downforce car on P-Zero slicks so you'd expect it to behave like that and as you saw from that slide into the Variante Ascari it goes from glued to unglued in a snap as slicks do in real life.(edit: it actually didn't... I think I see your point there...almost too progressive for slicks.)
Can't wait for that damn Tech Demo thing to come out!!

The Pagani? Well that car is pretty glued to the road in reality.

Guess I'm just used to GT5's horrible handling version.

Didn't know it was on slicks though, but I'm not a huge supercar fan so I don't know much about them...

Yeah it's not a road legal car, it's basically a race car (albeit one that adheres to no regulations and breaks most tracks noise regulations) running on slicks.

I think the way the suspension moves looks wrong in the video with the BMW drifting. It looks like there is no dampers, it just looks too exaggerated in general, the car seems to bounce and sway a bit too much. Other than that this looks like it could be a great game.

Edit: Maybe it has to do with the controls or the person controlling it, but the worst part is when the car is in the middle of transitioning from right to left, the car seems to do a weird wobble.

The Pagani video, why is the point of view in cockpit feels like zoomed out ? I don't know a better word for this :( it's just feel weird and unnatural, I understand they made it this way to have greater sense of speed, but I think it should be adjustable in the final release. Another surprise is the braking distance of that car which is very short, unbelievable, the 1st chicane braking and the parabolica ( last turn braking ), I am surprised at how late the car can brake and turn in.

I think you are reffering to the field of view, I agree it should be adjustable in every driving sim. I personally would prefer it a little more zoomed out as you say, because when I drive my real car I can see out the side windows without turning my head, so I like to have something closer to that.

It is a heavy road car with a softly sprung suspension afterall, cars do exactly that at extreme dynamic loads like what you're seeing there.

FOV can be adjusted as with all PC games out there, here's another video using the P4/5 Competizione on a much narrower FOV this time:

I don't agree that cars do exactly that, it is a bit exaggerated in my opinion, mostly that wobble when straightening or transitioning. I've seen and driven heavy cars with soft suspension while drifting and I find the cars behaviour in that video is not 100%realistic looking to me.

I'm not saying it's completely wrong, it's just enough to set off alarm bells in my head when I see it.

GT5 version still handles very well. Got a video of me driving one in GT5, there are multiple views too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAf6FtsM1gU

Problem with GT5 is, it is not so sophisticated in quite a few areas like differentials, tyres and other stuff. Hopefully next GT competes very well in all areas.

Braking distance seems fine to me. It is a high downforce car.

Regarding to Kaz he thinks GT5 is a simulation. Even sound is too realistic in his opinion.

But seriously, he needs to consider playing other racing games to see the reality ... GT5 is not a simulation.

And it never will be. Limitations of hardware and pressure from Sony to make it a game for "the masses" would be the prime factors.

Exactly! We have to remember that GT5 runs in 7 year old hardware now? I would guess many compromises in coding and other areas had to be made to fit aging hardware.
Thankfully there is the PC market wich is constantly evolving and the developers have a much more flexible compromise to work with!

By golly, yall need to look up the definition of simulation. Of course GT5 is a simulation, albeit not an especially good one. But I thought this thread is about AC..? :odd:

Scroll forward to 52 seconds and observe, this car is an absolute beast! Think of it as a GT1 car gone wild!!:

edit:Here's another new video:
