I want them now!

As Scheer mentioned, I'm sure after the Japanese and Red packs Kunos mentioned that the other packs will be synchronised with PC and console release. Let's hope so
No lets hope not, while i dont want to do all that masterrace crap here the QA system on consoles suck, id rather people not get punished for it because that ultimately means pc will be finished first and then there will be a 2+week period where its on steam but doing nothing. No one benefits from this and so far the console community hasnt lost their minds about it but the vocal pc sim racers will absolutely flip out which is also AC's core audience.

I just dont see any way in which this helps anyone.

What!! What are you talking about? I still haven't even tried Assetto out at all, because I realise that some people can't afford to buy it yet.

I'm waiting for them all to gather the funds so they won't get upset that I have access to something they don't.

Surely synchronised means that PC and console users will have access at the same time i.e they will both be finished together?

SVX
It's nothing to do with preference to platforms. The DLC requires inspection - Kunos can't do anything other than hold back a PC release for it which is unfair if you ask me.

PC- Upload update/dlc to steam, second its uploaded its scanned and can then be given to the public. The process can generally be done in 30-1hour depending on your upload speed.

Both consoles- You pay a fee, send the update to Sony/MS and they QA it for problems and then you can release it provided it passes their tests, generally takes between 1.5weeks to a month in my experience and some other devs ive been in contact with.

See the problem is that the physics are made on pc as one would expect, steam has the quickest system for updates and dlc so naturally it will be done first, consoles have to be done afterthat and there is the waiting period.

The other upside of this is that if Kunos find a bug or problem with the car eg missing exhaust or lights are the wrong colour then they can prepare and send a patch for QA on console. Ultimately that means you guys wait less time for a patch.

Generally with the updates on pc there will be some sort of problem which will be patched before the end of the day, three more patches by the end of the week, very minor updates but still its a shame this sort of thing cant be done on the consoles.

I hope we get a version of the 911 from each generation.
I agree 100%. There's no reason why they shouldn't considering it's the car that defines the company. I really like the classic 911's and the 964 series 911's a lot, so I hope we at least get those two along with the modern 911's.

Think we're going to need something with significantly lower set headlights than those two.

Merely feigning interest though. I struggle to care about cars at all, until I'm in them. Still, even then I don't care what they look like.
If you don't care about cars at all, what got you interested in sim racing? Just curious.

I reckon the 2015 919 Hybrid will come with Pack II and the the 2016 car, which stole a Toyota Le Mans win that I have moved on from*, will be part of Pack III. I am going to test the damage model on that one to the max!

Would you like to see what Kunos has been sitting on for 2 years? You might want to expand the text and read the entry as well.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if there is a slight gap between PC & console release of DLC packs. Think of it as expanded Q&A testing. Also, I'm very surprised there hasn't been a release date announced for the 1st Porsche Pack. Kunos has insisted all 3 packs will release in 2016 and they've been doing a Christmas/New Years gift every year, so I would have thought they'd want at least a week or so between the release of Porsche Pack 3 and the Christmas/New Year surprise. But, what do I know? Didn't we have an official release date for the Japanese Pack a few weeks ahead of release or am I misremembering that?

Sure about that? This would be awesome but sometimes things take a little longer then expected. Kunos is a very small team so you never know. However, as far is i know, they're announcing their DLCs with a fancy trailer and release date a couple of weeks before it comes out. Turn10/Microsoft are announcing the Expansions and car packs on the day they're released, that's quite a difference. I would expect some official date and trailer as soon as... next week?

But i'm also curious about the red pack for consoles. That's a great DLC, too. With 3 porsche dlcs and the red pack coming out within 3 months, this could be a very busy time for Kunos and their players.

Maybe the word "insisted" was a little strong. Still, I am 93.25843% positive they claimed all three by years end.

If you read the 2nd paragraph in THIS THREAD you'll see that the Porsche DLC content was originally scheduled to be released as TWO separate packs, not three. It says: "The packs are scheduled for release for both PC and console in Fall 2016." Packs. Plural. Otherwise, I think they would have said something like "The first DLC Pack is due Fall 2016". Believe me, they carefully word these press releases.

Perhaps I missed something when the DLC Packs were split into 3 units, but I know the scuttlebutt on the official forums has been repeated claims of all three by years end. I don't know...I just can't wait to drive my first official 911! :D

As far as I know the plan is still to release all of them before the end of year, but we all know plans don't always go to plan so nothing is 100% certain.

True. But are you 100% certain that things are never 100% certain? :D Yes...you guys are both right. Until the release dates are announced, nothing is guaranteed. Why do I get the feeling that we're gonna get screwed over because Kunos isn't going to want to release the Porsche Pack 1 so close to the Japanese Pack/Red Pack or whatever? It shouldn't matter. Won't most people who are interested in DLC grab the Season Pass anyway? Man...this console thing is really cramping my style!!  I'm just kidding. I have no idea why anything happens the way it does over at Kunos. But, I do know that they bust their butts to make their customers happy. Of course, you can't please all of the people all of the time. Kinda like how people are angry about getting 3 free Porsche's... Maybe that was a thread on the official forums...insane.

I can't believe you just sacrificed an eye over this. The 959 is lovely.

Each to their own I guess! As long as I only have to see it from the front it's not too bad, but dat ass is just hideous and looks like a complete afterthought that was tacked on with some gaffer tape. And what's with the running boards? I thought only vans and SUVs had those. :odd:

Running boards. It was a thing back in the day:

there is a certain beauty to cars designed for purpose with their utilitarian look. I also quite like Gumpert Apollo.

I agree, and I like the Gumpert. For whatever reason the 959 doesn't do it for me though, probably because it looks like it was slapped together and not designed for purpose.

Totally acceptable on a sexy, sexy race car!

I'd put my money on Laguna Seca if some track were to join the Porsche DLC. Porsche loves coming to Mazda Raceway and Kunos has been doing research overseas, if I recall correctly.

That's rumored to be the next track but I'd guess it will come with the non-Porsche DLC that's been said will be out by the end of the year.

All done to achieve zero lift even at 195 mph top end. ;)
