OMG. I cannot wait. My excitement levels are through the roof. Now that Porsche has worked with Kunos, it should be easier for them to talk with other companies and tracks now right?

Verbiage:

Here's the shpeil from each pack:

PPII

Porsche Pack Volume II is following the first DLC in being dedicated to the Porsche brand, introducing a different selection of models in a total of nine configurations. The pack devotes attention to some of the most iconic racing cars ever created by Porsche, including the 2015 Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid, the iconic 911 GT1, and the legendary 962c, featured in both Long Tail and Short Tail configurations, coupled with some of the most recent models of the Porsche 2016 line-up, with the aim to offer a perfect mix between road cars, hypercars, as well as modern and historic GT and racing models.

PPIII
Porsche Pack Volume 3 is following the first two DLC packs in being dedicated to the Porsche brand, introducing a selection of seven different vehicles. The pack places an emphasis on modern-day Porsche racing cars, including the entire 991 GT3 racing line and the latest 2016 Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid, while also featuring two of the German brand’s most iconic racing cars, the 908 Lang-Heck and 917 K. Volume 3 also brings players one of the most coveted modern road cars of the modern-day Porsche line-up, the Porsche 911 R, completing a perfect mix between road cars as well as modern and historic racing models.

No rumours, seems information extracted from steam.db. They must be preparing the season pass there.

AMAZING LINEUP!!!!

This doesent seem too far off, but i dont think it would be such a great idea to put all of the GT3s (race cars) into one pack. Im excited if they are really bringing GT3 R, RSR and GT3 Cup into the game, but why letting us wait sooo long for all of them? GT3 R would be a fine choice for Vol 2 and we could get the even faster RSR in Vol 3. And yeah, i REALLY hope that Vol. 3 will arrive for consoles too in December, or else... xmas ruined!

Both the 2015 and 2016 919 Hybrids!!!!! Kunos, I love you.

I believe that's so we have one that will be competitive with the other 2015 LMP car(s) that's coming in the future (2016 brought some new specs). Plus, visually there isn't much difference so since they already have the 3D model might as well make both specs. 👍

Well, the steam pages are up, even if not yet reachable through the main AC page:

Every single game developer makes the same mistake with helmet cams. They make it get blurry as the speeds go up. Doesn't happen in real life. And the surround helmet items don't get blurred either. They usually make the head bounce a lot more than it should as well.

This camera is placed about 1 inch above and 1inch in front of my eyes. And is a really good interpretation of what we REALLY see.

Well.. In project C.A.R.S you can deactivate the blur effect and use full view (without the bars simulating the helmet), adjust camara sensitivity (the way he looks to the apex) and then you have the FoV settings and you can move your seat in the car if you got the settings mapped on your keyboard..

All that is possible even in project cars from PS4...and the way i play in project cars btw..a real joy and hopefully they put the helmet cam and the same personlized settings possibility in assetto corsa.

It is great to know what is coming in the other packs too. Pack I will be great but II and III will be incredible. I may well start crying when Pack II lands with those stunning race cars.

The other LMP1-H cars on the way, the Toyota TS040-HYBRID and Audi R18 e-tron quattro, are the 2014 models I thought. The Porsche 919 Hybrid 2015 will be comfortably faster than them with the default set-up.

We will have to BOP them to have a level playing field.

Oof, indeed. I sat down to play the game for the first time since shipping the wheel back, and... it's not pretty. I know I set some laps with the DS4 when it was first released, but it was with a grippy race car on a relatively simple track. Taking the Levante to Black Cat County was not fun.

The main issue I'm finding when playing with a controller is that while initial turn-in is comically quick (and you can barely use more than 1/4 of the stick's travel), the car doesn't stop turning until a fair amount of time after the stick has returned to dead centre. It's not as bad as the other culprit I've got that does it — NFS 2015 — but it's there, and it makes judging turns a guessing game.

The replay also looked very bad, like the car was gliding over the surface. Will need to explore other parts of the game.

Yeah, that's one of the issues I have. I can make some small inputs on the Xbone stick but it exhausts my thumb after only a few laps. FH3 handles this quite nicely, as I've played a few hours at a time without fatigue. Though FH3 is much different than AC, of course. I'll still get the Porsche DLC but honestly feels a bit of a waste knowing I won't enjoy it as well without a wheel.

TS040 also ran in 2015. I don't know which we're getting, I'm just blindly regurgitating what peeps on the AC forums are saying. :D

The reason I differentiated was because the 2015 TS040-HYBRID was about 2s per lap quicker than the 2014 spec at virtually all circuits. I would prefer the 2015 car on that basis but I think Toyota would be happier with people experiencing the 2014 cas as it won both WEC championships that year.

The 2015 was completely outclassed by Porsche and Audi so will always be considered something of a failure despite being the superior machine.

That's an understatement. I'd still rather have the 2015 and hope it can run reasonably well with the 2015 919, we already have so many orphaned cars that it would be a shame to have multiple LMPs that weren't at least somewhat competitive with each other.

Also not a fan of blurring and general disorientation caused by helmet cam in PCars. I do like the view.
But I dial down the effect. I think it's a realistic view. Right down to the muffled sound when you "put the helmet on"

I'm confused. The Trailer had both 911 GT1 included.
Screenshot from the Trailer is the 96 GT1

But it apparently only lists the 98 (?) Model?
A bit confusing.

These packs are full of awesome. I can´t believe that I´ll be driving those cars for the first time ever. Having RUFs is nice, but nothing compares to the real thing. Specially having the race models, which is something I was dying to try.
I feel exactly the same. Over all the years I have only tried a handful of Porsches in NFS games. Seeing the full range Assetto Corsa is getting, thanks to the Steam links from @sirgaric, has made me so happy.
The 911 GT1 Evo 1998 is a car I have always wanted to try, plus it could be a good rival for the upcoming Maserati MC12 GT1, but had given up hoping I would ever have the chance.

Pack II is my most wanted they are all going to be incredible fun and in some cases a real challenge.

I've been away from AC for a few months but this is bringing me back. So pumped. Sorry if this has already been asked, but is there usually a set time they release these? I see it's scheduled for Oct. 25th, but it's already the 25th in some parts of the world.

I believe it's usually around 13:00 Eastern time (EDT).

@Kamuifanboy Hey there. Very nice video driving the Super Trofeo! 👍 I love driving that car in the Assetto Corsa. Well, since you drive one in real life... Does the AC Super Trofeo resemble traits of the real car? What does it do wrong? What does it do right?

I know I'm going to get tomatoes, eggs and heads of cabbage thrown at me...But I'm a little disappointed in the contents of the Porsche DLC to be 100% honest. Listen, I know that I'm not the only person on this planet so I completely understand that we needed to get the race cars that we did, but I was kind of hoping for a couple of older 911's. I know that this Porsche/Kunos arrangement was probably heavily weighted toward their newer cars, of course. Thankfully they have given us the new 911 R. I was just very, very shocked not to see a 911 Turbo or Turbo S.

Okay...I'll put my pacifier back in my mouth and go back to my corner and poop in my diaper. [/babymode] :D

I was hoping for some more mundane stuff myself - 944 Turbo and a 928 would've been cool. I understand why they wouldn't be included though.

944 Turbo would be super cool...I'm sure it could probably run against some of the BMW's we have - Lotus's... There's gotta be quite a few cars it would match against.

I'm willing to bet that this isn't going to be the last time we get Porsche vehicles in the game. Now, whether they'll be old classics or not, I haven't a clue.

Oh, btw...as this is General Discussion. I haven't driven the Alfa Romeo GTA in a LONG time. That car is freakin' bada$$! I downloaded this newer track from RD called Highlands Motorsport Park and I am completely unaware of the circuit...don't know the layout at all. So I picked the GTA to give it a whirl. Man, that car has got some grip and some guts! I forgot just how spunky that car is. Someone made a mod a few months back. I can't remember the name, but it's a FWD older car that can compete with the Alfa Romeo GTA. I'm not a huge fan of FWD cars, but that one is pretty sweet too.

Cool that people are getting NZ tracks featured, and chance you could spare a link?

I'm guessing you mean a Lancia Fulvia?

The slower cars in the game need a track like Laguna Seca. 👍

All Porsche packs look good but perhaps a little too many 911 GT3 variations. The first pack could end up being my favorite. Speaking of the devil, today is the big day! Meanwhile on consoles...
