That's a ridiculously awesome price! Considering it's the PC version we're talking about, which has the ability to run mods, user created apps, PP Filters...you name it.

Anyone who's picking up Assetto Corsa (Steam PC version) during this great scale needs to also head over to http://assettocorsa.club/content-manager.html and download the free version of Content Manager. I strenuously recommend you "purchase" the full version of Content Manager by submitting a donation to the program's creator @x4fab. There is no minimum amount required...a $5 is generous, I'm sure. After a few weeks of using Content Manager instead of the standard Kunos game launcher and you'll understand why people rave about it. :)

For n00bs who also get Content Manager:
The fastest way to have Content Manager run was to set it to "UI Module" in Settings > Content > Content Manager > Drive. It's the very first option on the page called Game Starter. Setting it up that way really sped up the loading of cars & tracks each time you headed out for a new combo, but you had to also have Kunos's launcher running in the background. It wasn't a huge resource drain or anything, but it was an active program requiring memory and such.

@x4fab has created a few more newer ways to set Game Starter. I recommend setting it to AppID. Now you don't even need to have the Kunos launcher running in the background anymore!! :D AND...it seems to be the fastest performing option of the bunch. He is currently in testing mode of allowing us to run Content Manager as a Service which will be even faster than AppID. You can read more about the different Game Starter options available with Content Manager where you make the change...you'll see a little question mark after the words Game Starter. Click on that and the help menu pops up showing you the pro's & con's for each method.

So many new features have been added lately that I am still discovering new things almost every day. One of the really nice things about CM is the ability to modernize almost any old car mod you might have. Maybe the sounds don't work anymore because of the FMod update...or the mod has really old Tire Model v5 tires and you'd like them to have v10 tires like all the official cars...or the exhaust flames are a mess, Pit Stop parameters are missing (this is VERY often with mod cars...lazy creators :P :sly:). With a couple of mouse clicks Content Manager will fix all of that and much more. The developer of CM is a freakin' magician.

EDIT - Not so much a noob as I thought.

I did a search and found a Content Manager folder in Users\Blah\AppData\Local - backed up the folder, deleted it and then reinstalled from the download installation file and all working fine :)

Left this post up as it might help someone else to know that if you get a problem with the Content Manager installation, you can find it in that folder and delete and reinstall it and seems to work.

Looking forward to having a play with the Content Manager later. 👍

I had problems with it yesterday and it just disappeared of my PC all of a sudden, AVG also warns me that the program is causing problems and asks me if it want to 'fix' it. I selected ignore and it loaded up fine though after re installing.

Yeah...if you were running with CM in plain ole normal mode you couldn't have the Kunos launcher running, but the downside was after every combo....when you hit the Quit button to go back into CM - each time Steam would disconnect. Then you pick a different car to drive and hit GO! and Steam has to load up again -- UI Module mode stopped that, but at the expense of needing to have the Kunos launcher running as well. Oh...and there used to be that problem where CM wouldn't sync up with your Steam properly so it didn't remember achievements or something like that. I just can't fully remember. If you set it to AppID now I'm pretty sure that should be the fastest available mode. HDD users will notice the benefit more than SSD users because SSDs are already super fast.

Next time you're in CM go into Content > Cars and select an older kinda crappy mod car and hit the Analyze button. It's crazy... Not only does it tell you pretty much everything that's wrong with the car (as far as being updated to v1.13 standards) but it will ask you if you want CM to fix it for you. In like 3 seconds all the problems are gone. I'm pretty sure you still have to do sound replacement the way we've always done it...thats why that button didn't go away - same thing with tires.

I just noticed that there is a "Setup" button in Content > Cars -- we can actually adjust, modify, edit, share & test car setups from within CM. I mean, ya...you still have to go out onto the track and drive the thing to see how they feel... but it'd still be nice if you were chatting with friends and you make a comment about something you don't like about the car and they say "Oh...ya wanna lower Front Bump settings to 2000 from 4000 stock". Now you can do it in the blink of an eye in CM and then test it later when you have more time and not have to worry about forgetting.

I'm going to talk to x4fab and Mathieu Labbe to see if there might be any value in integrating The Setup Market into CM. It can't hurt. Topaz has been working with x4fab and now SideKick is fully integrated into CM and that's great, in my opinion.
Where could we find the set up market?

Where could we find the set up market?
Yup. The Setup Market website is cool and if you like it, there is an app you can download for it. Then, while you're on track you may click on the Setup Market app button and a box will pop up showing you how many tunes have been uploaded for that same car/track combo. I'm pretty sure it shows the number of downloads - the version and the rest of the info the website gives you. If you don't find a tune for that particular car/track combo you can then ask to see setups for that car from ALL tracks... It's good that you have the choice.

It takes a little while to get used to, but I think it's a really resource now. Especially for a guy like me, with my level of driving ability.

Here's the translation, the part about Laguna Seca at the end of the year is up for interpretation.

The DLC you are referencing is about to enter in beta, the release is planned during the month of may. For Laguna Seca the iter has proved to be a bit more problematic than usual, but finally we have come to the end so i feel like I can confirm the issue within the year. Soon we will publish the complete info on the DLC.

Oh and I just noticed he removed a post from his Home!
He was about the presentation of the new McLaren at Vallelunga, the 720S, he commented "Nice Look, Drive and Sound"

There's a press event at Vallelunga right now. I doubt it has any relation to Assetto Corsa.

Hopefully this new DLC will come to consoles at the same time as well.

OK, with a two week difference, for validation purpose...

...for the PS4. Because the XBOX one will run into some kind of problem, so it will be more like a month. :P

Didn't the end of year blog say something about Laguna Seca coming in the middle of the year? It sounds like they're on schedule with it, more or less.

The McLaren 720S makes sense for the upcoming British car pack though, which promised new cars from McLaren and Lotus.

My guess is on those Audis and Toyotas that were teased a while ago. But who knows.

I dont mind monthly DLC support.

Honestly, this is probably the first DLC I don't really care about, none of the cars interest me very much and I already have more cars than I know what to do with. There is some rumor floating around that there will be a big update to the AI but I have yet to find the source of that rumor so not sure where that's coming from or how accurate it is.

I'd rather they get it right as best as possible than rush it and have even more bombardments of pressure from them all going, Kunos sucks with this buggy POS that so many post over there.

I didn't see any indication that they are rushing anything. People over there are always going to find something to complain about regardless.
