It should be coming at some point. Marco has recently implied that there still are some obstacles to overcome, and Stefano mentioned that development on the track is pending.

Nice! I really loved that track in Gran Turismo 5/6. I always felt American on it. :D

The track has such a nice layout and flow. I'd love to also see Austin officially come to the game.

AC was a bit hit and miss for me when I first got it, I have no clue how to tune and in PCARs always just used stock setup, you touch the kerb you spin and you cant catch it, no traction, wont turn in and won't brake! lol but boy when you get the set up on the car right it is a complete different machine, almost feels like a different game!! I thought it was just me being a **** driver but I can't emphasis enough how much you need to get a good set up on these cars in AC.

I have never played Project CARS but I usually read the opposite of what you're saying. I rarely adjust anything but fuel load, tire pressures and gear ratios in AC and I haven't experienced any major difficulties in general.

Same here and lately in the RD club races I'm normally near the front and have even won a few races. I find most cars to be pretty good to drive in stock form.

Depends on the car. But you can drive every car with default setup. If you really want to push you will have to tweak with the setup for that last seonds, milliseconds. And also that depends on the car.

I think you mean you fell in love with AC again :)

I could drive them but not confidently at all, I felt like I was tip toeing around the race track, whereas with a good set up, I felt I could actually push and take the kerbs a bit more without the risk of it just spinning without being able to catch it.
It was the Ferrari GT3 I was using.

Odd, you felt the Ferrari GT3 in Assetto was very tippy toe? I thought it was very planted but understeer-y.
 
On most tracks, with most cars, a properly tuned car should be able to gain 2-5 seconds per lap vs a stock setup.

I basically know nothing about tuning, but I have noticed that on most street cars it's worth it to add a fair amount negative camber.

Check out the app called "the setup market"
It allows you to download tunes that other people have uploaded for certain car/track combos, while in game.

Try doing your best time in a stock car then download a properly tuned car, and I guarantee you'll be significantly faster.

@Markeeez18 do you have any tips for how set your cars up, besides adjusting fuel and tire pressures?
 
Haha, omg. Sometimes the game drag you out of immersion when stuff bugs out.
You are set, as everything is adjusted and you are just 50cm away from the monitor and you are ready to start an epic race. But then you see that some of the cars are floating/hovering above the tarmac with its wheels tucked into the wheel arches/houses and yet the car is chasing you down like it had full contact with the road. haha, sometimes you just think to yourself, well that is only a game after all.
 
I do too, but I'm not sure I have high hopes of it happening. Fingers crossed.

I'm not holding my breath on it. Unless they've managed to keep something under wraps and completely secret...which I doubt. I really wish that they would go after some lesser known tracks.
1 real world track and 2 with highlands in 2017 is a pretty lame number. At least knock out some modded tracks for us console guys.

Same here. Many developers seem to go for the tracks that resonate with the majority of people, so why not think outside the box and do something different every once in a while? Don't get me wrong, I look forward to having Laguna Seca in AC. It would just be more interesting if the genre was more unpredictable in this regard.

The French Magny Cours circuit often stands out as a somewhat forgotten classic, It appears to have faded away from most major racing series since it hosted its most recent F1 event in 2008. It's still a great layout but strangely absent in today's racing games. Of course, I can always drive it my PS1 copy of F1 2000 by EA Sports, but I'd rather not at this point in history. :lol:

I could say the same for several other "smaller" circuits out there, but it seems that Slightly Mad Studios has been discovering some of the potential in this area. Kunos arguably should too, especially when one track is causing as much trouble as Laguna Seca has.

Before "setting up" anything, there is a few second to be gained by using the whole track, balancing the tyre pressure and possibly the gearing, if possible, as was demonstrated by Aris tutorial in video one.
It is always hilarious to see someone online asking for a set up when they are not even using the proper lines and braking point.
Set up, if you know what your doing and it is adapted to the way you drive, can improve your lap time, but not as much as what is mentioned above. There is much more to learning a track than knowing if the next apex is left or right.

You can also find a lot of time by just going out and turning laps to learn the car/track. I can usually find more time doing that than just immediately slapping a tune on there, then once I really know the combo the tune helps me shave off those final few tenths. As the saying goes, the best way to improve your times is to improve the meat in the seat.

I put together a video for you, hopefully its what you want...
gt3 cars are not usually my fav cars to drive, I can't get used to the TC. Anyways, this lap was done with a totally stock setup - I didn't even change the fuel load.

6:54.392 good for 12th place according to rsr timing app.
