Facebook gem from the 458GT portfolio: "the first five cars" which only means more than the first 5 included with the game: more Ferraris as DLC???!!!

And more important is that they make sense, PD needs to fire whoever is the clown in charge of the physics and performance in the cars. They need to drop the "what if" modifying PP crap and balance the race cars according to class so we can have a level playing field on the GT community.
Crappy sounds, flat kerbs, weak almost inexistent FFB, generic physics randomly distributed trough the cars, stupid tire wear and extremely unstable connections need to go if GT6 is to be taken seriously by the sim racing community.

Yeah and I bet Nissan GT-R GT3 will be the fastest car on its class if they'll add GT3 series in GT6. Just looks at the GT-R touring car in GT5, it looks like a GT-R GT1 but PD makes it much faster :sly: I'm bored with this stupid patriotism.

The R35 TC is AWD, FIA GT1 cars? RWD.

If Assetto Corsa has GT5-esque BoP, then online racing is going to be a treat. Balancing the GT2/E/E1-XP2 cars with the GT3..too awesome.

There will be no silly engine/suspension/aero modifications in AC, what we will get is a solid product wich will accurately represent the real life performance of the cars, meaning we will not have to spend hundreds of hours trying to do something that the devs should've done from the begining like in GT5!
The GT-3 cars will be close enough but a bit faster than the GT-2 cars and the P4-5C somewhere behind GT-2 just like in real life.

Patriotism has nothing to do with it, it's just the stupid mass between Kaz's ears, the fastest GT car on the whole game by a huge margin is an American car under the PD banner...

What? limiting power (restrictors, boost, etc.) and adding ballast are what race organizers do to balance cars. BoP is an inherent part of motorsport because some race cars are inherently inferior/superior.

GT3 and GT2/E/E1-XP2 cars are very different. This is because their respective regulations are created with different goals in mind.

Fact: GT3 is leaps and bounds quicker than GT2/E in a straight line. Why? because GT2/E cars were meant to lap La Sarthe in 4 minutes. Any faster than that and it would interfere with LMP2's at 3:45 and LMP1's at 3:30.

The P4/5 (E1-XP2) is a 430 Scuderia/F430 GTC frankenstein (GT2/E) underneath but with much more weight added. This is because ADAC didn't want to tick off GT3 teams by allowing the only car of its class to fight for the lead.

Bottom line: These cars need to have their power and weight adjusted in order to fairly race one another.

The ferrari 599xx evo was posted on their facebook today. Looks nice.

if they screw the sound with this car, I will be very frustrated. This is one of these car where the sound is as important as the graphic, such an angry beast!

Agreed.
Look at gtplanet homepage!
There's another outstanding Japanese Classic Seasonal Events waiting for you!
Surely much more enjoable than a boring 599xx Evo right? :sly:

Actually its rfactor for me. Historix mod the GTTC A0 and A1 cars on a long twisty track. But, you've got the right idea. Big high powered high downforce race cars don't interest me very much.

Ok but this is just your own opinion. It's not like most of the people are not very interested in high downforce race cars. It's like saying you don't like 1,80 cm women with 90-60-90 measures because you prefer old grannies. To each his own :sly:

Just kiddin.

If you love rFactor AC i your future, not rF2. The majority of the modders have already expressed bias towards AC rather than rF2.

LMAO!! Perfect analogy

I will probably end up with both depending on the content that becomes available for each. Though I will undoubtedly be driving in rfactor (1) for a long time yet.

Blasphemy!!!

Seriously Jav, ISI has a strong record and longevity, rFactor 2 will do great. I do however hope AC will rival it in all its features, this can only benefit us all.

As GT5 has shown us, pretty cars can only go so far. Proper product development, racing realism and full flag rules will make or brake AC, not just content. After all, and sadly, netKar Pro didn't go anywhere.

Drag Racing in Assetto Corsa !!

New previews of Assetto Corsa have surfaced, showing off a new game mode in Kunos Simulazioni’s upcoming title – Drag racing.
While a drift mode has been announced and shown off before, drag racing in Assetto Corsa is something new sim racers can look forward to.

They seem to be taking cues from the popular console titles, that's interesting. With the physics from the tech demo and the alternate modes they could have something really unique on their hands as it seems to me that drift and drag modes are relegated to simcade games while proper straight-faced sims are all about racing and time trials.

That is as long as they let you have access to all of the cars from the start. Sure, have a career mode where you have to progress like a simcade does, but include a free race mode with all the content unlocked too like every other sim does too... In the end it's all about options. They'd be mad to repeat GT Legends' mistake of locking stuff away (even though that was really, really trivial to bypass).

Is it just me or is a Q2 release looking increasingly unlikely? Generally you tend to hear that games are coming out at least a month beforehand.

Unless I'm missing something massive, which is entirely possible. ;)

Well, you know what with indie developers. They try to do the best they can with the limited resources they have.

My feelings: Kunos are trying to polish the game as much as possible before release, probably delaying a couple of months or more. They could go the rF2 route, releasing a beta product but I feel they don't like that way.

Their target is to drop the bomb in the market, they don't want people complaining for this and that because of an unfinished product. That's just IMO obviously.

I do hope they don't go the way of a beta either, there are far too many racing sims at the moment that are released to the public as 'beta' and then seemingly never exit beta stage.

I know, and I respect them for making sure the game is good.

It just seems like it's becoming a theme in racing games at the moment. RF2 could be in beta forever for all we know. I haven't heard anything about GTR3 in about a year. pCARS got pushed back to next year. iRacing is still jerking people around with the Lotus 49 almost a year after they announced it (and still jerking people around with whatever the latest flavour of NTM is).

I agree, releasing a beta early isn't the way to go. I think they could just do with a bit of transparency, instead of just teasing new cars all the time. I think once you've started to talk release dates it's slightly weird to then start NOT talking about them.

Imari. Let's go out and bring all these ****s together to make a massive supersim, end all stupid flamewars between fanboys and finally produce the one, super expandable, feature-rich, compatible, bug-superlimited, and complete PC driving experience ever made.

Make everyone rich in the process and let us have our damn game once and for all.

Can I get a hell yeah?

You have a good point there, but I think the teasing and showing new cars in Kunos opinion means "we are working on it" kind of message. I agree they shouldn't tell people about release date and then, not talking about anymore. People become impatient.

My suggestion: do not leave old sims until new ones are ready. All this waiting and waiting could cause a GT5 epic emo rage syndrome in the next months.

Disclaimer: You are free to tell me my suggestion is useless and you are bored with old sims. I'm not but that's just my opinion.

You've got the right idea. I find myself rationing the gameplay in the sims I have to try and stretch them out. FM4 has a lot of life in it still, and pCARS changes every week (although there's not much "content" as such). I actually went back and played through GT5P again the other week, which was kind of fun. I'm thinking about redoing Ferrari Challenge as well, I remember that being good times.

There's nothing quite the same as the joy of experiencing a new game though.
