I remember hearing about this game but only now have I actually watch some videos and did some actual reading upon it. One thing I'm curious about is if I'll be able to run it on my low-end Laptop or not so seeing the specs would help. I'd like to know for sure.

I tried the tech preview, forget about your old laptop I don't think it's possible. Assetto Corsa is a DX11 game expect it to be demanding even more than Project Cars.

Good news, but now Kunos must find a way to prevent Steam conflicting with modding.

Just integrate it with Steam Workshop, like Skyrim. Skyrim wasn't bothered about external mods mixing in with the Workshop mods either. Of course you have to be careful about conflicts, but the same applies when not using Steam at all.

"Assetto Corsa's preorder will be launched soon. Stay tuned to keep updated!" Sounds like it could be a Christmas release date?

Steam hasn't prevented me from modding GTR2 and Race07, so you need not worry in that respect.

I'm sure things will change by the time that these games are released but currently, the AC tech demo works much better on my system than pCars.

They have been trying Assetto with the Oculus rift.

Marco Massarutto: The first impression about the Oculus Rift, tested with a first AC test build: it's very immersive, so much to cause a bit of sickness due to the absence of g-forces while using with a static simulator. Lag is very limited; at the end of the first day with it, my opinion is that this display definition is good for development, for a first look or for casual usage. Nothing bad with it, this is a development kit and following the feedback from the E3, much probably the Full HD resolution of the retail version will make the Oculus a good or ideal device for massive usage. Despite its design, the device is not uncomfortable or heavy to wear. 3 pair of lens are included in the package in order to be adaptive for several kind of user vision. I've to say that the Oculus is better than I had expected in terms of immersion, at the point that the absence of g-forces can cause a bit of sickness when you drive at high speed, at least this is my case. While you handle the steering wheel, the "connection" between your body and the virtual world is perfect, so much that, if you gesticulate, you would expect to see your virtual hands moving as well, that's very cool and a bit strange. I'm pretty sure that seeing virtual hands on the steering wheel, guarantees a sort of connection between the user and his (lol) avatar that helps to be connected and "stay in". While, if you drive the car using a pad or the keyboard, you lose this sort of connection and it can cause a bit of disorientation. This week I will make some tests using also a motion simulator to verify if the combination between these devices can reduce the sickness. For today, that's all folks!

Yeah, looks great, I wonder what FPS it was running at in that video.

and wtf, can we get a video that's actually been captured for once?

It is a bit weird how developers seem so happy to use off-screen recordings rather than properly capped stuff... Is it really that difficult to use FRAPS or similar?

I want that video to be seen straight to the forum.
This is pretty much it. Game set and match.
And it was only 28 seconds.

Goodbye Sony, goodbye Poliphony Digital, goodbye Crapbox One.

Dude this game is going to be great but quit making out it's going to be some giant killing behemoth, it's still only going to be a niche sim racing game that will sell a few hundred thousand copies at best.

Indeed.

There have been PC games that are better than GT and Forza for years (at least in ways that aren't related to car count). This is nothing new, and while AC will likely be great it's not going to make any difference to GT and FM.
