I like everything so far except the FFB. To me it just feels heavy. There is no bump or curb impacts felt threw the wheel. Maybe Im missing something in the settings? I don't think so though. I even enabled the dev tools, but see nothing there for ffb.

Why?

The physics are lovely!
The content or lack of it. Difficulty in set up in particular FOV and camera position.
as for the physics and ffb I didn't spend more than 2 minutes driving it. Not sure this is ready to unseat me from rfactor and the Historix mod yet. Lastly wish it was available outside of Steam.

If this is overwhelming what other games are? A huge load of ..... ? Most of the videos above show incredible responsive physics. I just say I feel stupid for not having a proper PC right now.

So far I am underwhelmed as well. The content, lack of in-depth settings for most aspects of the sim, the FFB is not as good as rF2, etc.. I want to like the title and support this small developer, but the Steam choice does not help. Ultimately this feels more pre-aplha than pCARS. I was hoping for an option to rFactor 2, which I consider to be the best, but this falls way short, at least for now.

There is no ffb to speak of, there is some varied resistants to your imputs, but no ffb from curbs, bumps, off tracks, wheel lock up or impacts. Its like a center spring that varies the forces needed to turn.

So far I'm pretty happy with the game, excellent physics and tire model, FFB is ok, but I still like iRacing and rF2 better.
Now, question...:
I have the FOV pretty much set to where I want I t to be... Is there a way to lower the seat and is there a way of turning the steering wheel/hands animations off??

You will need to enable the dev tools for fov and seat adjustments. Depending if triple or not where youll change it. You cant hide the wheel, but you cant stop it moving and hide hands in the visual options.

Thank you for the pointers, appreciate it!
FOV you can actually adjust in-game by using +/-, now I'm definitely gonna go and play with the seat height definitely want it lower by about 2 inches using the game's graphics as a scale.
Alright... Which files do I need to access? I'm on a single screen BTW...

I definitely don't think the physics are underwhelming, an improvement over the tech preview and the Elise SC is just amazing. The FFB on the other hand with the 458/Elise SC is not that great, worse than the Tech Preview. Formula Abarth FFB I thought was fine though.

Still not driven any other cars.

Well, I'm enjoying it and I'm glad the long wait is over. I'm still a sim racing novice, but the physics feel quite good to me and will keep me busy working on practice laps until AI opponents and multiplayer are released. If everything comes together along with a strong modding community, this does seem to have the potential to be the start of one of the major sim racing platforms in the future.

You're complaining about lack of content in an early access game?

Few tracks, few cars and few mods is what I consider lack of content.

No AI, no multi, no damage, no weather, no racing, no realroad- just a hotlaps and screenshot generator- that's a lack of GAME. I don't understand why they would release a game that looks pretty and literally has nothing else going for it. Or why anyone would want to buy it. All you can do is pay $35 to hop on 4 tracks alone.

My comparisons of Assetto Corsa:

One thing about the game is that the formula cars is that the movements are a little rare, but i think that they will improved them in the next weeks. BMW cars are the best for me!

@guybo

Read:

"Constant Updates
As part of the early access program, starting by the first release, an update with new cars, tracks and features will be available every two weeks, adding new contents and improving the existing ones. All the vehicles and tracks will be released in a level of completion close to the final one, with the aim to deliver, starting by the first version, an enjoyable and satisfying simulation, featuring cars and tracks reproduced at their best, with the exception of unknown minor bugs that will be fixed and polished in time for the final version of Assetto Corsa.

Extended features
During the whole process, the AI, Multiplayer and damage model features will be progressively added in the scheduled time, in order to close in short time the final release, that will include the career mode and other exclusive contents."

A lot of people, evidently, would pay their $35 now to have a taste of the game early. Early access.

People really need to learn what early access means. Read up on things before you buy them and you're much less likely to be disappointed.

It's not a full product yet, it's an early alpha. I don't know if you've opted into any early access games before, but throw any ideas about purchasing games out of the window. You DON'T get value out of it. What you do get is the ability to follow the development of the game and act as a game tester.

You're paying for early access, if you wanted the full game then you should wait. It has been pretty widely discussed and well known that they would be releasing content and features in waves in order for them to test them and bugfix them at a manageable pace. The main thing I'm happy about is that the physics are excellent, perhaps the best out there. the UI is nice (better than Rfactor 2!) and it has built in telemetry, records your fastest laps and the telemetry of that lap with each car. The base of the game is awesome, so now its for us to see what they can do with it.

I will say tho, the sounds are a bit underwhelming and the AA settings don't appear to do much, still many jaggies. I'm considering leaving it off so when GT6 comes out I will be slightly accustomed to it.
