Here I leave you a gameplay with two of the new cars added today in Assetto Corsa, are the Ferrari 599XX Evolution and Ferrari F40, and the lap is also in a new circuit added today, Monza Circuit.

The F40 scares me. You have to predict the slide, it's not something you can catch easily. :)

Anyone else feel that the 599XX's steering is really sensitive?

I am really on the fence with AC, especially now that the already discounted early access price is discounted.

I am a driving enthusiast but I am more fond of open world, free roaming experiences.. I find racing quite boring, the laps repetition and so on. But I always casually played and enjoyed racing games (I use a G27).

So.. is AC really so much game changing and a new experience in realism that I should invest 30 bucks in it? Just to make a few laps with the M3, Type 49.. (I love classics)

I don't think anyone can hold it against Kunos for caving on the sale when Valve offered them front page Daily status for day one. You'd have to be an incompetent business man to turn that down. That wasn't your point there, but I just thought I'd comment on the discount since some on the internet are upset about it.

It's an awesome game, but if you find racing and laps boring, not really sure this is for you. It's not really aimed at the casual audience. It's about car porn and those who love it.

Isn't Forza's showroom more about car porn? (Or the 600 cars of GT?)

I've been a car porn addict in my 16-25 y.o., now I'm close to 40 and am just curious. I'd really try it if you guys really tell me "you have never experienced such a realism before, that will mind-blow you!" .. is it?

Thanks! :D

(Regarding pricing: I'm Italian. Italy is hanging on the cliff right now. Probably Kunos realized they need to make sales or the project falls. Or they just realized the early access price is too much for what is in the game at the moment. Or I am totally wrong. Just my speculation, I know nothing about it, I'm really a casual follower.)

I don't really mean showroom. I mean physics wise. Although there are still many to come, it's got a great library of cars (IMO), and if you've ever fantasized about being able to push them hard on a track, this game is Christmas morning. It's just such a joy to drive these cars that it leaves me with a big stupid grin every time I play it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on these things and I won't dispute others. But it's my favorite sim ever when it comes to the physics. I really do think it's all that.

It is one of the best driving sims to date, but if you find racing boring your probably going to be disappointed with your purchase. That's what this game is about. There really isn't gonna be anything else to do. I think the console games is where your gonna be the happiest. This game, when finished, is hopefully gonna be a full blown hardcore racing sim. Sounds like that's not what your looking for. With that said though the physics and graphics are top notch.

That's why I'm on the fence. I think I was overwhelmed by having so many cars and tracks to play in so many games (GT, Forza.. and so on and on and on). I've tried Simraceway and was bored. I'm looking forward to try Shift 2 (I know this is blasphemy here, but many members of this forum rated it as making racing sims very boring, compared to S2) and Grid 2. Still, I hate arcades. But age made what was called "sim" when I started playing - some 25 years ago - absolutely ridiculously arcade compared to the realism of today's "arcades".. :D

That said.. forgive me for breaking the AC discussion!

I am like you insofar as I really don't care much about racing. It is all about the driving and the content for me. AC really delivers on the driving. Modding support is coming so hopefully the content I want will come in time. I think AC is worth the investment regardless of whether you plan on racing.

What kind of content?!? This is interesting.. (buying now could be a good investment?)
Hopefully some of the tracks made for rfactor will be able to be converted. Also some cars that might not be popular enough for Kunos to create, but have a following will be made by the modding community.

No, currently I am studying, I finish in June, I hope.

If you play this combo from the medal/challenge scenarios, the sun is barely above the horizon. And it's huge. So good.

Was totally on the fence about this, since I'm already subscribed to iRacing. But with the steam sale, I decided to give it a shot. Looking forward to my first run later!

think AC need to move up the steering wheel since it is completely hiding the RPM LED on the dashboard. just a detail, but since this is beta may as well point it out now.

Want to give this game a try but i'm a noob on pc...

Will this run on an Acer laptop with specs:

Intel core i7 2.2ghz up to 3.1ghz
Nvidia Geforce GT540m
6Gb memory

Finally had a chance to hotlap a bit. Mostly good, AC has potential for sure. FPS numbers appear to be way more optimized back from when I played the tech demo. :)

Minor and not so minor gripes, aKa I'm way too used to iRacing:

You can't hide the steering wheel. I feel silly looking at two wheels.
It seems you can't adjust the FOV if using 3 screens. Major fail -- deal breaker for me. Well, I already bought it but you get the point.
My DFGT's D-Pad doesn't appear to be recognized. Perhaps the game doesn't support D-Pads? I use it to look left / right in all sims, so this isn't minor for me.
I'd like to be able to use a button to start racing. Very minor, I'm spoiled by iRacing on this one.
Option to hide the mouse when driving. I have bass shakers, so unless I turn my mouse upside down, it's on-screen at all times.
I'm sure this will improve over time, but options seem limited in general.

Please do let me know if there's a way to fix / adjust the above. :)

Mostly I'm happy with AC. Can't wait to see how it evolves over time.

If you move the mouse over to the far right side of the right monitor A list of many options is available. If you scroll down you'll find the triple screen options.

Wow! Just downloaded the game and tried it out! Great fun! I think my new favorite track is Mugello! Sadly my wheel isn't hooked up to PC yet so I have to use the 360 controller, but even then you get a nice feeling of grip and response with all the cars through rumble effects! It's great!

This annoys me too, I have my wheel clamped to my desk and I have my mouse underneath on a pull out tray. Whenever the FFB vibrates the mouse comes up on the screen and because it's a pretty sensitive mouse (Razer Naga 8200dpi I think) it only takes a tiny movement for this to register. It even moves around, so puttng the mouse pointer in the corner out of sight doesn't last long.

It's so distracting!
