I know, they're not really fast at all. As a kid I got to go into the paddock and see these up close and sit in one for a minute. I guess I just don't want to see them not be used. These are for club and short courses. Sentimental more than anything.
Thanks for taking it for a spin.

If I may, Elkhart Lake is exactly the wrong track for a car like this. You want to drive it on a short, tight, twisty club track; the kind that abound in Blighty--Lydden Hill, Knockhill, Thruxton, Anglesey, Mallory, Cadwell, Croft, Pembrey--or a go-kart track like Goldenport. I drove a solar-powered car around Indy once; top speed like 49 mph. It was like being parked. My object all sublime, I shall achieve in time, etc.

I have absolutely zero real world experience, so I can't judge the accuracy. That said, I actually found it quite fun! I think the key is to use it on club circuits. I can see how a long straight could be boring, but shorter tracks are another story. So avoid using it on GT/Formula tracks. I just whipped it around Putnam Park for a few laps, and I think that's a perfect fit for this car. It *just* makes top speed by the end of the straight. I'm sure it will work nicely at Calabogie, Glendale, NJMP Lightning, Lime Rock Park, etc.

Thanks @Beezer215!

What he said.

with CM showroom, I can see that glassfint_a01 only get 'visible' flag and not 'transparent' flag

Updated.

Question about Singapore Grand Prix 2020, it is maybe the best track out there at the moment, but would it be possible to have working starting lights, at the moment they are stuck on green.
Also, I love the choppers flying around, but is there a way to slow them down, they fly more like jets than choppers hovering.

I like what you've done with this. I drove it around Road Atlanta for a few laps. It's definitely more enjoyable than the iRacing version (last time I drove it) and the other mod available for AC. The GTR2 version I had was probably the best, but it could still be a challenge to drive.

Compared to those , I would first think your version might be too "easy" and forgiving, but after really pushing it and getting all-wheel drift on some turns due to it's short wheel base and small tires, I think it might be more correct than the others.

One of the nick names for the Ford Spec Racer is "The Pig" because it's slow and has strange handling characteristics. However, if the real car drove like the other virtual versions available for it (except the GTR2 version), I'd have no interest in racing them. This version is enjoyable to drive, and I would hope it's closer to the real thing.

This video popped up for me on Youtube a few days ago. You can see that the car does have some understeer and oversteer tendencies with more drastic changes in speed, especially during deceleration, and the driver has to correct to keep the car under control. I wish we could see the top speed he reached on the straights.

Unfortunately the track, Texas World Speedway, is now permanently closed and is to be leveled for apartments, if it hasn't happened already. You can see it was already in poor condition six years ago.

Larry LoPatin (inventor of the high-banked 2-mile oval) must be spinning in his grave. Too bad about TWS; that infield layout is one of the best I've seen (Daytona...or maybe Lausitz...being the worst). And a great little video of near-tragedy and ultimate triumph. But understeer? Not that I could see - he had no prob hitting his apexes, but almost lost the rear end more than once.

Question. Is the only way to blur everything but the car in photo mode, by using f5 to track the car when i press play, then taking the picture?

It worked how i wanted except when i hit f5 it changed the roll of the camera & i can't reposition the camera afterwards as it then stops tracking the car.

What car is that?

I think I missed that track. Couldn't find via search, could you share the source? Thanks.

Vauxhall VX220 pack update: https://mega.nz/file/3hsDEIJS#G7oFW6FgRUEnw2WNYJpvyn0V00HeQEHD-9th-KytNaw

Changes:
- Basically a whole new model, ham fistedly stitched together from the original model I used and the one a while back from Henri Amazir so that the VXT is pretty much accurate now, with darkened light clusters, spoiler and correct wheels, VXR the same but with black bits and the NA with removed turbo badge, front and rear spoilers and light clusters lightened. Most importantly, the wheels no longer look rubbish and the tyres aren't 300mm wide.
- Most shaders, paint, cameras, UI, LODs and other stuff fixed or improved.
- Engine data, torque/power curves, drivetrain, dimensions, aerodynamics, gearing, brakes, electronics and AI corrected
- Semislick tyre option for the standard VX and VXT in line with the fact that pretty much all Kunos cars get semislick tyre options
- Folder names tidied (won't replace the originals for those that have them if you want to compare for whatever reason)

SSD bigger than 1Tb?

It's a 500GB. I also frequently use the Tools --> Compression and use the recommended LZW compression to reduce the files to about 30% of their size. Each time you use it, it only compresses new files (new mods) that haven't been compressed. This might reduce the search and list operation, and because LZW is integrated into Windows, the smaller files load faster, and newer processors have no issue decompressing them for use when you actually launch a session.

Huh, that's odd. They render just fine on my end.

The Corvette worked just fine for me as well.
On my gaming rig with CSP 1.46 the Cougar liveries now render correctly and even the windscreen is transparent in the showroom, but as soon as I hop in for a drive session my windscreen is black and opaque from behind the wheel but transparent from the outside looking in. I clicked on the the transparency attribute for the interior windscreen object mesh in CM but that didn't fix the problem. Frustrating.

Update: Problem fixed with Zin5ki's latest update. Thank you @Zin5ki!

It's been fixed. Scroll up to @Zin5ki's last post on this page

Edit: Guess you caught that already

Thx for giving me some hint, I found a easy solution which would like to share for those beginner and hope this fix those old car issue.

1. Assume u have Content manager full version - CM Custom Showroom - Unpack KN5

2. KSeditor : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\sdk\editor\ksEditor.exe"
- Open the "<car>.fbx" file under "unpacked" folder

3. Locate the "windscreen / glass ( etc )" component
- IsTransparent - True

4. Save KN5 - Car

5. Overwrite the existing KN5 file :)
Was unaware of this until I saw these detailed screen shots. Had to go searching for the plug-in but after I found it voila! This should make things so much easier. Thanks!

Hey guys,

Trying to get the turbo on the 908 working properly. Using Ilyas AC Torque Helper. Ive never built a turbo before in AC. Can someone tell me where the controller text is copied to?

Do I just make a new ini file. If so, does it need referencing somewhere?

Assetto Car Tuner makes it easy to add turbos. You can probably find the download on Race Department.

It's been a busy few days... Porsche 968 Turbo S re-work: https://mega.nz/file/7t1FXDyS#28gT1Aj3h141Dbn--Ane5CrTslImdH_P8jhqX72WSmQ

Changes:
- Visually, numerous shader corrections and updates, for example making all windows transparent.
- Transplanting the frankly offensive wheels that came with the original model for those off the 993 Carrera from A3dr.
- Corrections/updates to pretty much all data, from dimensions/weight, to engine, power, drivetrain, ai, aero, tyres, suspension, handling, brakes and electronics. Car now tops out at around 175mph, lapping my test track somewhere between the E92 M3 and M4 BMWs (it's a short course where the low weight of the Porsche gives an advantage).
- Added LODs, more paint options and changed the sound to something more fitting.
- Original credit to Lu Thua Kien and Dragster666 for bringing the car to AC. Considering they animated the headlights, wipers and doors/bonnet/boot, the car in its current state is actually pretty good now.
