Folks, is anyone interested to start a weekly hotlap challenge again? I remember I had a separate thread here as well for that. We have soo many content it would be a shame if we don´t use this shice for a proper hotlapping contest. Just for fun, without any strict rules. Maybe you´re interested? Let me know.

I am for sure. Outside of racing with norms on his server I haven't done much actual driving in AC recently so this might give me an excuse to get some more seat time so yeah I am. How are you going to choose cars and tracks? Voting or random pull out of a hat kind of ting?
 
I love Lime Rock Park! Optimization is always welcomed, thanks in advance. By the way, is there any chance expanding the pit stall count from this ridiculous 20 to something more apropriate for endurance racing? That would be awesome!
I extended number of pits for Lime Rock from 20 to 32, will post it here with other American tracks as a part of North American TrackPack next week :)

At the start I would let CM do the job, just press "random all" and thats it. The time of the day should always be firm. I would suggest the "winner" of the challenge can choose the next combo and so on then. Edit: of course we could be flexible as well in terms of daylight or even night challenges are possible. The creator of the event can choose as he wants to.

Edit 2: we also can set a specific theme for hotlapping, in example hotlapping at Imola to show respect to Ayrton and so on. This was my first challenge if I remember correctly. Sadly no one had interest so then I quit this very quickly.

ps thinking of chucking daytona Fm7 on here...as it is....i dont have any time to work on it and feel like i have bben sat on it too long..its looking pretty good graphically but need optimisation...what do you think?

Lime Rock is my local track so I very look forward to any further attention it receives. And of course Daytona is another iconic track that deserves a second look.

Lime Rock is my local track so I very look forward to any further attention it receives. And of course Daytona is another iconic track the deserves a second look.

I'll take a look at Lime Rock after I'm done with Daytona.

I started last year a config for Lime Rock and never finished it, but as you posted the track here, that´s so far my config.
Just new grass and water and some brightness, contrast tweaks, no lights for now....
Feedback for optimizing is always welcomed. :)

Extract package into ..\assettocorsa\extension\config\tracks\(loaded)\limerock_raceway_fm7.ini

Love all the reboot tracks. The Sonoma optimized track run so much better now. If anyone else is up for challenge to optimize all the reboot tracks, like Bathrust..etc. I think some beer money is in order :)
 
Gotta say I love the vibe here....no judgemental pricks....and everyone is out to enhance the AC experience...

When I started on this modding journey..it was all for my own enjoyment and my weird OCD completist mission...

I'm just so happy that others are taking up the challenge...and having fun learning

@MrB00 I'm 99% positive that the last upload you gave me for the Donk didn't have the brand licence plates included. I could be wrong though, but I'm positive I downloaded the most recent files you sent to me.

@norms The licence plates you've been doing are interesting, but they still make it look like a road car, which I'm trying to avoid. I'll leave your plates as an optional download for anyone who wants them from your post. We've tried removing the plates but it breaks the car when we do, so they've been left on for now.

Sonoma still has that weird floating groove I think, but I'm sure that was added post-reboot. You were going to feather the concrete/grass transition at one point?

Yeah that's precisely why I changed the plate, to suit what @Masscot was trying to achieve with his GT4 plate.

I'm not sure what happened but it threw up errors when someone tried removing the plates from the kn5 so I made those livery plates that should have been included in the upload

It has to do with the KN5 giving errors when that part of the model was deleted. If you want to try and remove it, go ahead.
 
i got the super-awaited version of road america by LilSki and right off the get-go, there are 2 issues.

The first is UI-related: the length of the track is referenced in miles (3.1) instead of kilometers (6.5)

The second is the one i ask your HILFE: if i try to hop in (even for a quick drive), i get the race cancelled error from CM. Over @ RD they say that it has to do with @Blamer 's BLM lights app; any temporary fix for it possibly avoiding to revert back to PatrickPat's version?
I had to take a look today but I couldn't, maybe I can do it tomorrow, I don't know, I' m not in the right mood

If it's got animations it could depend on that.
Oh, so sorry one of the tracks I was most waiting for from one of the modders I most like has problems with one of my apps

There are a few variations on the GT4 logo depending where the series is run. I still think it'd be good to brand the GT4 cars with the GT4 logo in some way, even if it's not a rear plate.

I don't mind that but a plain GT4 plate without the "road" look would be better. Why not incorporate the GT4 logo the livery plates when they get updated.

Modification of the Kunos Original Monza Classic, by Adding rails, spectator fences, modification vegetations, colliders, terrain aswell.
The revamped version doesn't overwrite anything from the basic game, it works like addon track simply

The 1962 version try to recreate Monza from 1959 to 1962, so not pitwalls, less rails etc.
The 1966 Version is an overhaul of Kunos one by adding details mainly.

This version is not final:
I'm not an expert of Assetto corsa modding and I must say that the base is faaaaar off accuracy, rFactor 2 one is way better.

To do:
Adding of rail in 62 for return straight line
Try to find a way to have the AO terrain map working for only these 2 version and not for the whole tracks
Adding again some details, and maybe try to make camera from spectator point of view
Adding parabolica GrandStand.

The 1970 and a bastardized 1972 version will come but later.

If you have some indications,please tell me or help it would be very usefull, and why not making some updates of Silverstone or Classic Kyalami in the future

My next small thing for ya all, a config for Circuito Vasco Sameiro.
@LiquidSkyMan and @safi hellie posted their stuff here today for that track a few posts back, many thx for that. 👍
So I thought all this ugly background boxes on certain elements as crowd or bushes, etc. should be removed and doing it, grass and some tweaks more could help to improve it a bit more ... :)

Master of quality testing Mr. @Fanapryde was satisfied so far with it. 👍
Only not so dense grass as on other tracks was on his list. But I think in Portugal it´s often really dry in summer and grass looks often taht way. But maybe @Paulo Ribeiro can give us his opinion?

Track crashed for him to an purple screen on Rift/CM. I´m sorry for that. :(
So, maybe test the track without my config before. I don´t believe it´s the config, but I just wanna warn you... :scared:

Changes made so far:
  • added some lights
  • fixed some elements with solid boxed background and black tent entries
  • new grass added, not so densed for now
  • removed old odd 3D grass
  • overall adjusted brightness, contrast
  • created vao-patch
