You got me into balloons you b@$tard..! Ruined my life!
;)
Sonoma still has that weird floating groove I think, but I'm sure that was added post-reboot. You were going to feather the concrete/grass transition at one point?
Haha..the Balloon master

Regarding Sonoma...I forgot who updated (sorry)..it just needs the track edges alpha reapplied in the shader...plus the groove needs re-shrinkwrapped to the road surface...these are both pretty quick fixes...it may be better for whomever did the optimisation to do this and rehost the link..that way it won't get to confusing...

With regards to the track being bumpy...this is a bit of a trickier job...I think the geometry between the white lines may need rebuilding from scratch...unless anybody has any clever ideas..I had a discussion with another noted track builder a while back on a fix he though might be possible...but my memory fails me as to what it was...I'll dig through my message archive to see if I can shed some light

Jim

I tried this version. As far as I remember, this is beautiful, but inaccurate. I'm talking about the fact that in FM7 there is a laserscan that can be transferred to AC, and then we will get the real Tsukuba. But so far no one has done this. Just an offer for those who know how to convert tracks from FM7: Tsukuba - this is what is missing in AC. By the way, the same thing I can say about Suzuka.
The reboot version is very beautiful ... but it is based on Codemasters (?), and differs from the geometry of the laserscan versions of Granturismo or iRacing. In FM7, Suzuka is a laserscan. And that could give us the correct version in AC.

Interestening info. The first official licensed scan of Suzuka is in ACC. I heard Aris from Kunos talk about it in one of his YouTube channel. They were the first that were allowed on the track for scanning as Suzuka management was very reluctant to allow the track to be officially licensed in games up until very recently. And all other versions in other simulators before ACC version, are not 100% accurate, as they could not have been scanned properly. Just a fun fact. But what I wanted to say was, that Suzuka being one of my favorite tracks in ACC, I have to say that even though AC version is not laser scanned it is unbelievable how accurate and close to the ACC version it is. Almost perfect. The only real difference is in the curbs. Same goes for Kylami, my other favorite track in ACC. It's mind blowing how good and accurate the version for AC is for not being laser scanned.

But on another subject, dying to know as I won't be able to drive AC until tonight, maybe even tomorrow. How do the Chivas gt500 drive? Has anyone tried them yet. I have high hopes for those cars.

hi
does anyone have a modified and faster version of AI Donington Park 2018?
especially in the last 2 turns, AI brakes too early
Yes I agree. Would be nice to have. There's another thing I hate. The AI can cut the chicane before those two last corners, and if we do the same, we get a slowdown penalty.

Tuskuba never appeared in any Motorsport past FM4 mate, don't know what you're talking about.

Hi guys. Just wondering if you have an idea as to which version of Interlagos is the best one?

I have acu_interlagos_2018 installed, but the hideous green Heineken branding everywhere makes it look crappy.

is there a version without such excessive & obnoxious branding?

I still couldn't test Road America by Lilski, but it's weird that BLM Lights has been pointed out as the cause of someone's crashes (it used to be written in bold in the main track's page) while people without the app is reporting crashes too.
Just to say...

I think that the statement of Aris is somewhat inaccurate :)
At a minimum, iRacing releases only scanned tracks, and Suzuka has been there for many years.
Polyphony Digital never made official statements about the laser scanning of its tracks (in any case, I don’t remember this), however, Kazunori Yamauchi repeatedly hinted in their interior views and said that they are very reverent about creating tracks and use the most advanced technologies for their creation. And even their fictional tracks are based on real terrain. I remember the talk that Nordshleife will never be scanned because it is "too big a track and no one will allow it to be closed for so long during the scan" ... Then Nordshleife went to AC and "it was the first in the history of simulators scanned version of the Nordshleife". When I first drive a lap on it, it immediately became clear that in Granturismo 5/6 the track is just as accurate. Of course there are differences, but in general the geometry is very close to each other. For comparison, the version in Project Cars - In almost every turn, I understand that it is different. Based on this, I’m doing I conclude that Nordshleife in Granturismo is a laserscan. And it didn’t even appear in GT5, but in GT4! That is, many years before the appearance of the "first official Nordshleife laser scan in AC" - we went through the laserscan on the game console in Granturismo :)
Now that the official laser scan is in iR, rF2, RRE, AC, FM7, this is very easy to check - just go back to the GT4/5/6 and compare.
This also applies to other tracks. After Suzuka in GT5, when she appeared in iRacing and I drove the first lap - it was exactly the same feeling. Delight - is the same track! There are some differences in implementation, but in general, everything is the same. When I go to any mod versions, or to Codemasters, I understand that this has a lot of inaccuracies. In every turn, I feel a little different.
I will give one more example - Monaco. There was also a lot of talk about the fact that this track will never be scanned, because “no one will allow it to be blocked” .. “this is impossible”, etc.
At the same time, rFactor Pro users rode the scanned version of Monaco. :)
Just few people knew about it, since it was not accessible to ordinary users.
Suzuka behaves very badly towards the gaming industry - it's true. But we must understand that Sony and Polyphony Digital are Japanese companies, and that means a completely different attitude. I am sure that they did not have any problems to scan the track. Also, do not forget what Microsoft is. When for many years EA owned the monopoly on the use of the Porcshe brand, and they did not appear in any other games, Microsoft just came and got it for Forza. I think that scanning Suzuka for them was not a problem either. I can’t give evidence that Suzuka in FM7 is a laserscan. I didn’t even try FM7 :) But when testing those FM7 tracks that are available in AC, I understand that these are scanned versions, because they accurately repeat the geometry of those tracks for which the laser scan is officially declared. For Suzuka and Tsukuba official laserscan - it is iRacing). Granturismo corresponds to this. Judging by the video - FM7 - too. I think I was mistaken at the expense of Tsukuba FM7, it was a version of FM4... I would be happy to be able to drive to the exact version in AC.

Another example of Lime Rock Park, which was mentioned above.
For the first time this track appeared in iRacing (Iaserscan version). Then in rFactor 2 (laserscan version after reconstruction). Then in FM7(laserscan version after reconstruction). They are very similar.
You can even compare the version of rF2 and FM7 in AC - both tracks are available. Сonversion from rf2 has graphic bugs and looks ugly, but the geometry remains accurate.

It turned out a lot of text .. I hope this correctly conveys the meaning :)

Kaz is a perfectionist so this doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

It's been updated, apparently solving those crashing issues some were having.

But on another subject, dying to know as I won't be able to drive AC until tonight, maybe even tomorrow. How do the Chivas gt500 drive? Has anyone tried them yet. I have high hopes for those cars.

I have just downloaded and tested the Super GT cars. I think they drive good; they've got a lot of downforce, as you'd expect, and they seemed to be a good fit for Mugello (I know, I know, I didn't have any Japanese circuits on my system for testing...). Word of warning though, the GT-R is configured to use the H-shifter, and there wasn't a car data folder I could find to fix it, so just bear that in mind.

True. There may be more hidden issues. --- Edit: BatteryMeter seems to be another one---
But in my case, disabling BLM lights makes the track work. Witk BLM lights enabled, the track loads until the point where I hit drive and then the game freezes shortly before I get the race cancelled message.
I tried the latest track version that was posted on RD.
The first ten times (or so) that I tried the track yesterday, it always gave me the race cancelled message after the first try, the second try was always succesful. In the afternoon - for some unknown reason - that did not work anymore and I had to disable the app. I checked the extension/config folders to see if a config had been posted, but no.

I now just have to remember to disable the app for RA and enable for other tracks (can't really miss BLM lights) ;)

Edit: @Patrick Ellis sadly not for me (and so far another guy who posted on RD)

Didn't Lilski redo that for his NAGP releases? Not much help as I still don't know which release may have said mesh in it?
Maybe...he never sent it too me if he did..took the hump with about something ....I forget what..since then he only shares what he does on these tracks with the nagp lot..perhaps the two versions can be merged.

In Content Manager: Unpack data.
Go to drivetrain.ini
Find SUPPORTS_SHIFTER=1 and change that to SUPPORTS_SHIFTER=0
Pack data again and remove the newly made data folder.

Btw: two of the cars (the Honda's and Nissan's iirc) have mirrors that show a carbon fiber structure and their position doesn't move. Need to switch to monitor.

And sometims he is too perfectionnist, sadly...
But I must admit that the details for some tracks is amazing.

Speaking of Polyphoy... It would be fun to have more R34 and Supra declinaison HAHA in AC,

Tuskuba never appeared in any Motorsport past FM4 mate, don't know what you're talking about.

Isn't she on the FM7 tracklist? I don’t have xbox, and FM4 / FM7, I can only judge these tracks on the basis of mods for AC, I probably mixed up with FM4, but for some reason I was sure that this track is available in FM7..

It's odd that I've not had a single crash but so many others are having issues. If it's not a rogue app causing the issue, I'm thinking it's gotta come down to some CSP setting. Humor me for a minute... Look at what options I have enabled and disabled, and adjust your settings accordingly. Just see what happens - we might be able to track down the cause. Also make sure "Merge meshes" is turned off under General Patch Settings, as that's been known to cause issues with other cars and tracks.

I'm sure it's not. I did not even know about the update (there is no v... number). Better remove my link then.
I hope it drives more like a TC after the update (had to recover it from my backup to help @LeGeNd-1, because I did not keep it installed).

Edit: it does not drive better, sadly really, because it's a nice model. But it's still more a drift style car (and has only semi slicks or street tires as an option). It certainly is not a Touring Car.

I assume people having problems with RA have tried the updated track? They think they know what was causing the issue.

"We think we narrowed down the cause of the crash. So this should allow the track to work no matter what apps you have enabled. Added some minor details and tweaks here and there as well".

Edit: ah, I see people are still having issues. Disregard.

Updated Donkervoort GT4. Plateless. Check it to make sure I haven't fluxed anything and update your links.

Find SUPPORTS_SHIFTER=1 and change that to SUPPORTS_SHIFTER=0.....

That option is not exclusive. Unless you have change controls something something on. Can't remember, it was years ago.

Or rather if your control scheme has the gated shifter mapped then the above option forces that, so use CM to save control sets without the gated shifter mapped and you can drive any car with any control scheme you choose.

My settings:

And these are enabled:
Grass FX / Lighting FX / Smart Mirror / Weather FX / Verbisest

Grass FX / Lighting FX / Smart Mirror / Weather FX / Verbisest

I'm wondering if it's one of these. I typically have them off to save fps on my older system, but I'll give them a go for a second to see what happens. Could always be one of the sub-options of those too. Or maybe unrelated at all! But that's all a part of debugging

Well not gonna argue, as I don't have all the facts, and more importantly, I have no interest in being on either side whatsoever. :) All I know is that there are laser scanned tracks and "laser scanned" tracks. And that this term can be used very loosely sometimes. Especially in Iracing. Plus the companies do trade stuff all the time. So often the similarities between tracks in different titles come from this fact. It is no secret for example that rfactor and AC traded few resources between each other. Also Reiza and Studio 397 work very closely together. And that there is no war between developers, and if someone acquires something, for a right price, they are willing to share. Codemasters excluded here of course. But enough of off topic. Sorry everybody that find this as spam.
