Just discovered Legion’s NASCAR 90 mod, and I’m now in a Days Of Thunder nostalgia/hype mode.:D
What are the best oval tracks out there? I have Charlotte already.

Daytona 2019 by AC Reboot team (available from here several pages back)
Most anything from the Assetto Corsa Nascar Mod facebook group will do you well
Legion's ovals (Auto Club, Homestead-Miami, Indianapolis, Phoenix (also get the damone13x 2019 version from ACNM)) https://perendinator.blogspot.com/search/label/No Right Turn

Edit: VRC Southstar Speedway is a paymod of Texas Motor Speedway by VRC modding Team but its worthy of mention b/c its great and its my home track. Having driven there IRL, I can attest to its accuracy and overall coolness.

We're seriously not going to do the whole Detroit thing again, are we? LOL :D
Please check this post before the Twilight Zone becomes real life.

Edit: So it looks like the Detroit Street Circuit has been redone around three different times now. Which is cool. What would be even cooler is if someone was able to merge the two Belle Isle Tracks. NAGP road mesh into the Detroit2017 version that still retains trackside objects. A retexture or skin would be the whip cream on top. This is the current track being used in IMSA and INDY.

As i began updating the "acu_detroit". I found 2 versions here on GTP posted: also a "detroit" version. But this was the same as acu_detroit.
I do not know, why someone had to do this... but sorry, that is just stupid, because confusing.

I then took the acu_detroit version, because Slider began working on this, and i took his config and merged with my config.

Now we need the pitbox fix for my updated version, and perhaps sharpen or rework some textures.
Finally adding lights, and that would be it!

Here you go.
2 extra cameras which won't overwrite the original track camera in there. Unzip put into track data folder.

Absolutely love these Brazilian tracks, perfect for seeing the cars suspension work.
Now, knowing how sterile the PCars2 ffb feels (IMO) and how good the AMS1 / AMS2 is.....
Also knowing how sterile AC ffb is on these tracks with glass flat roads....
Is part of the joy in AMS these really well done Brazilian tracks and road mesh?
Or is the road mesh not converted over?
Just thinking out loud..
Basically is road mesh the important part of ffb feel?

Anyway, enjoy.

Awesome Safi. Thank you very much! :)

I'm really not sure how much of the road mesh is original, but they certainly have something going on that's more than the smooth billiard table you get with many converted tracks. And they are fun too! Great for sports cars and not-hypercars, which I generally find pretty dull anyway. I'm much more into cars which you can push to the limit without getting up to stratospheric speeds that rely more on driving aids to keep you on track than the driver's skills.

It is great, isn't it? Hey, so if you have FB, search for "Assetto Corsa Nascar Mod" on FB, then click on Announcements. There is a post in there with a ton of reworked ovals.

Here are some of the ovals I have installed.

After spending a lot, maybe too much time on this car. Here is the:
Nissan 370z GT4
Thanks to @MisterWaffles for starting this GT4 project we've been on. @Xedrox for the skins for the car. @Fanapryde for testing, no one is as thorough and meticulous.
BoP'd to Guerilla and Kunos. Tried to get the feeling and sound as close as I could to onboard videos. Car is a GT4 so quite easy to drive once you get the tyres up and the hang of how it feels with a hint of understeer.
Known Issue: Interior is not VR friendly. Was not going to spend the time separating each interior object to retexture but at least nicer than the original fake plastic look.

If you find anything wrong or think you have an improvement, please let me know.

Only put in about one hour of testing at several tracks with this Nissan 370z GT4 car. Car handling: sublime!, I like the counter steering resistance and feel of tire slip. Feels like really connected to the road. Sound: eargasmic, that high pitch is scary good. Looks: awesome!
So job well done. If I can complain* about one thing then it should be the size of the left mirror vs the interior. It looks so big in comparison with e.g. the steering wheel. Could be the 21:9 monitor or my FOV settings? I used default <reset> on board settings.

* Meant as constructive feedback ofcourse ;)

Thank you! The car is phenomenal, instant favourite, drives perfect. One of the best GT4.

Soo, good morning, fellow racers. I'm calling my skins and track edits "TED-EDiTS" or tedits for short. lol.

Here's a skin I did for Legion's "Laguna Seca Hystoric". You'll need his original track from his blog: https://perendinator.blogspot.com/

The skin I did is here:

Description:
Skin for laguna_seca_historic:
Replaced ugly trees and toned down overbright vegetation

Let me know what you guys think. I've started repackaging my texture edits using the skins feature of CM because it's a more elegant distribution method.

Could somebody please point me to the best version of Okutama ported from the GRID series? I had a quick search - seems like there are a fair few, plus a menagerie of skins and fixes - I'm curious to see what people regard as the finest.

I just checked and the former version of Detroit City Circuit also only has 8 spots... hmmm. recalculating shows only 8 as well, so it's not just a constriction in the json for the track.

Thanks @Fall Guy . Man, I feel old, because my eyes are not able to see what you're talking about. Help an old man out please ;) Is it the lighting, or aliasing, etc?

TA Exposure in SOL config handles the exposure setting of the track in general. Overbright tarmac, grass, trees etc could be adjusted with a simple slider. Have you tried it out? You will easily see a difference.

I just found this video off the Youtube front page.

However, it would be so nice if theres a track mod like this for AC.

Brooklands or Monza 66 oval perhaps

Sitges Terramar available you know where, along with Brooklands

is there anyone able to remove the absurd bumps in the Helsinki Thunder Circuit?

That would be my conversion? Drop a comment on the blog, that is, always best to go to source.

Man, it was nice to install a GT4 car that I didn't already have to my GT4 grid. @Beezer215 this thing looks great and more importantly is a pleasure to drive. Thanks for your hard work. Are you working on any other GT4 cars that are not in Guerilla or Kunos grids?

@Fall Guy, thanks for the explanation. I'll definitely check it out. Most of the time though, I'm actually replacing textures with improved textures apart from the originals. If it's just a brightness change, it sounds like I can definitely use your procedure. Does this create a config file similar to what people are sharing to put in "extensions"?

Big improvement - thanks.
If you could replace the rather dull and uniform road texture with something a little more worn/weathered/interesting then I think that would also help a lot with the overall atmosphere.

I tried them all - A3PP, Horizon (all his endless versions), Natural. By far the best one, and I stick to it, is the Javire photorealistic one v. 0.5. What a beautiful, realistic one. Highly recommended. Find it on discord with the link above (i also use SOL 1.6 alpha 2).

Would you mind sending me an invite to the channel which includes all the different filter - I'm using Sol 1.6 alpha 2 + A3PP_sol15 and would like to give the Javire photorealistic a try....

Please ignore - hadn't read far enough into the thread and was answered with a link.... Thanks

LA PEDRERA SAN LUIS track cameras

A better set than the first ones i did as learnt a lot more since then. Mainly that its not all one word.....

https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/la-pedrera-san-luis-track-cameras.33762/
Really loving your latest cams @safi hellie, they really have came a long way. Can I make simple request? I tend to download in batches and then install stuff at a later time. When it comes to your cams, I can never tell from the filename or the content which track they are for so have to dig back through here. Could you possible name the files the same as the track folder or include full folder structure inside? No big deal if not!

Some fixes for the chicane-less Lemans 1989 that was posted earlier this week or so.

I went through and fixed the transparency method on all the transparent materials. My god, there were so many more than I had initially estimated. People, cutout signs, light sources, rails, fences, tents... lol. Also added a VAO patch.

Happy Racing, bruddahs.

Thanks for this Teddie, but very importantly...do the AI cars still slow to a crawl around the bend before the hill to mulsanne corner for no reason? That ruins everything.

Thanks for this, such a great track!

I'm a n00b at this, where exactly is the slider? I want a PPfilter that works well with new tracks and the older tracks without looking all washed out, like the 1988 mod tracks do, when using PPfilters.

Search on the web has been a bit fruitless so... Does anyone have a Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds 442 (with the wing!) and a Ford Thunderbird '57 (stock, not the awful drift machine) ? I know they exist but they're... Unreachable. Disappointing.

Guys, I stumbled across information about "La Pedrera San Luis Argentina" for Assetto Corsa (oh, it was @safi hellie 's camera post), anyway checked this thread and the interwebs for the track itself... it has disappeared. What happened and does anyone have it installed?

Also, these have disappeared as well. (from an old post by Fana)

1- Autodromo Ruta 2 Sudamericano = Autodromo La Plata: https://mega.nz/#!CaAWyKKJ!Lg7DdBBluyjAoHF_GgTADGVUZtWWjKz0XslgNVniJwM

3- Termas de Rio Hondo Argentina: https://mega.nz/#!OwZ31YbR!GNDUYg0I7hu-7nPEYbefdA814FVOqiU7UFv5O7HCJrk
4- La Pedrera San Luis Argentina

5- Roberto Mouras La Plata Argentina = see #1 (is the same track)
6- Autodromo Ciudad de Rafaela Argentina
7- Autodromo Sincordia Sudamericano = Autodromo Ciudad de Concordia: https://mega.nz/#!6TZ2HSYC!GoW_yVAoyFC3uraC0yfCfsCCFI341KGONmc8qbezlLY

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Teddie, I'm loving your Jerez 1988 update. It's very nice indeed. Thank you! (Hope you look at Jerez 94 & the present day version sometime too. Sorry if I'm too cheeky in asking :dopey:)

@xezez No hurt in asking, my friend. I'll try to remember to have a look at those. I might need info on where to get the ones you're talking about if I don't have them just to make sure I'd be working on the correct versions you noted.

Big improvement - thanks.

@Masscot, good idea. I'll see what I can do.

Thanks for this Teddie, but very importantly...do the AI cars still slow to a crawl around the bend before the hill to mulsanne corner for no reason? That ruins everything.
in some vids on this thread, i saw the cars take flight on the slope towards mulsanne corner; are you working on it?

Guys, sorry, someone posted the track they edited a few days ago. The transparency issues were the first thing that popped out at me, so I took care of those, but I haven't really raced this particular version of the track. I'll do a few laps at some point and see if I can find the issues you guys @a25box and @TL98onGTP noted above.

Hey mates ,
Anyone know how to fix this?

Try it without "Shadowed Wheels" selected in CSP settings. It looks like it's sensing the tires are inside of wheel wells and are shadowing them. Let us know your result after disabling that setting. I'm curious.
