For all 3DsimEd users, previously, we discussed about car cast shadow parameter that needs to be set with specific steps to build a correct kn5. I found another issue when adding objects on track. A duplicated object added to the track was visible in front of me (of my car), but as soon as it was on my left or my right, it was invisible. And it was also invisible in mirror. Don't know if it's an issue with lod but all parameters seems correctly setted in 3dsimed object window. Exporting to fbx then create kn5 file with ksEditor fixed this weird behaviour.
Now I'm less confident for using direct kn5 export from 3dsimed, I think I will always go through ksEditor to avoid unneeded headache.

I've seen this before. Thanks for sharing your experience with it and what you've found as a workaround. Cheers friend.

Sweet spot for me on his track is 8 cars (including me). I wonder what GRiD 2's grid sizes are like in the game for that track. Do they run small grids on Chicago in that game's career mode?
Apple and Oranges. Assetto Corsa is making probably around a hundred more calculations per second in order to get the physics where it is. This is all taking resources while GRID is, well, you know what I mean.

Assetto Corsa even calculates the raise in voltage on the battery from the alternator while applying the accelerator. The stuff it's working out in our processor is staggering. The dev apps will show you all this neat stuff.

I don't see any animated stuff other than a few flags that faintly wave. Ferris wheel is not moving, trains are not moving. Am I missing something ?

You are right, Oops - sorry I meant just the moving flags, banners, etc. I forgot now we have special animated things we can do.
take care.

I just created a little better side lines for the Chicago track. Ai cars go around the track much better now. Tried a few of my open wheel
car mods and they work great for me.

Included in the zip file are the AI files and the left and right side lines. Place them in the correct track folders indicated in my zip file.
First save your original ai files in case you dont like them. the side line files are new. These files only affect AI cars and not live racing
with other drivers. I do mainly AI racing at this time.

I have noticed with cars like Abarths and Mazda Cup cars that can do allot a swaying, on the first lap or so they will get up on two wheels on
the corners. There are no AI hints right now to prevent that. These cars seem to do this on any track I try when I crank up the difficulty levels.

Here is the link to the new files. Let me know how work for you if you try them out. take care.

Hi,

Is there a way to change the track lights time to come on earlier? For example, I want the track lights for Barcelona City Circuit to come on around 8:30pm instead of the default track lights come on around 9:00pm. Thanks in advance.

Is anybody able to find an actual photo of that Villa Bordeu track? I'm the kind of weirdo that must make a real life preview for all the real life tracks and so far I haven't found any footage of that one.

I can't get over how oddly specific is to find this track on AC. It only lasted from 1958-1967 on a small rural town, and mostly ran local races. Today it looks like this.

(You can kind of see its shape on the grass)

It's so bizarre to have this track that I need to find a pic that isn't a newspaper photocopy  will report back with results

Hi
If you add and change [CONDITION_?] in track.ini file, It can be changed lights timing.
Maybe when it look at the conditions files in "extension/config/tracks/common", I think you can see.

@Fall Guy, hey man, I wanted to thank you for that "ta exp %" fix in SOL for over-bright situations. I got a chance to try it today and wow.

For me, the issue I have that this fixed is only on certain tracks. For instance, it's sunny, you look at a white sign with black lettering and the white sign is glowing so intensely that all you can see is a fuzzy, super-bright rectangle that is the sign. Setting the "ta exp %" in SOL to around 25% seems to fix it for those particular tracks in my case. Really nice thing to know. Thanks again FG.

I love this car. Any thoughts on what grid of class/year cars this bad boy should run with?
[EDIT] 1984? Still researching its class.
[EDIT] woah, proto C?

I have mine in IMSA.

Hello community , did anybody try Content Manager "compress files" tool? i saw on RD that this can save up to 50% of your Disk size , did anybody have problems with this tool regarding SOL and Custom Shaders Patch? or with cars ? i really appreciate your answers.

I'd love to know as well. I have never noticed this. The one thing that confuses me is, I would think that compressing the files would 'increase' load times due to having to decompress when loading the track. I dunno. Looking forward to more discussion on this. Good question @martin786.

It's a great tool and never creates any issues. It has saved me about 70% of the uncompressed file size, which is great since my assetto corsa files are now approaching 800gb uncompressed.

One tip: First time you run it, leave it to do its magic overnight as it takes quite a while to get through your whole catalogue if you've got a decent number of cars. Also, you need to run it regularly to keep all your new stuff trimmed down and/or if you move files, it will need to recompress those too.

Audi S1 KRB Silhouette is the only competitor for Tiga, I guess. It's some weird Norwegian tuning thing, I'm not too familiar with it.

They run it in the Gatebil Extreme Class her in norway which isnt really BOPed. If you have bunch of pretty extreme "time attack cars" they could race together.

I've been a photographer at these races a bunch of times, this year there's everything from the lotus to Sierra Cosworths, Ultimas, to time attack EVOS and Huracan Evos

this years lineup so far:

and everyone is on the track at the same time.

Last years race at Rudskogen

@xezez, thanks much, man. Hey, do you know if it poses problems for folks that are constantly going into car and track folders to fidget around? Is it some kind of back end magic that when looking at compressed folders/files that they look and behave as they would normally in file explorer? (damn, I had the hardest time writing that last sentence in a way that makes sense. I'm not convinced I wrote it well anyway. lol)

Thank you for this information. I'm going to see about setting up a Time Attack grid and include the Tiga!

Oops my mistake. it was another person that said he had 50fps with one car in the comment on you tube. you might be right Masscot, ChiQuiFReaky must have a top of the line PC to run his converted tracks. take care.

Yes. That was me. I think it is really important to give ChiQuiFReaky some feedback. And he did answer within 2 minutes. And about the 50 FPS: Thta is not that bad. 60 FPS is normal on my system - and that is already a high end PC, but the Valve Index is taking its toll.

The only downfall, if you can call it one, with CM compression is load times are a bit longer (well yeah, its un compressing cars and track dummy:P). I've never heard from anyone having any issue after compressing, only praising space recovery (gigs).

It won't pose any problems at all Teddie. Just run it every few days and everything that needs compressing or recompressing after editing will be taken care of in a jiffy. :)

(EDIT: I'm not sure if people in countries other than where I'm from know what the phrase "in a jiffy" means? Fast!)

Yeap. Argie here. We all guessed by context, I presume. I just wonder what it literally means... something like "in a jiraffe"?
Back on topic: Teddie, mate, compression saves you dozens of gigabyes. May take about half an hour, if I recall correctly (only did it once, like in that Strokes song).
