It also helps A LOT to delete files from the content folder that aren't used by the game, but were left there by the modders as left-overs or templates.
*.psd files (mainly)
*.rar files
I just can't recall all the others, but there are more.
Also, if you're too neat and have plenty of time, you can distribute your driver/crew gloves and suits in the content/texture folder, and add them to each skin as .ini files. Getting rid of all those glove/suit/helmet files (that ultimately just repeat themselves) saves tons of gigs too.

Hello community , did anybody try Content Manager "compress files" tool? i saw on RD that this can save up to 50% of your Disk size , did anybody have problems with this tool regarding SOL and Custom Shaders Patch? or with cars ? i really appreciate your answers.

The only downfall, if you can call it one, with CM compression is load times are a bit longer (well yeah, its un compressing cars and track dummy:P). I've never heard from anyone having any issue after compressing, only praising space recovery (gigs).

On my system I ended up using uncompressed again. I have plenty of disk space (and/or relatively low number of cars/tracks) and I felt the load times being too long to my taste. So there was no benefit for me.

thanks for the reminder, always forget that.

Guys, I'm unable to find this via our search. I know at one time someone mentioned where the "number of visible cars" setting was or how to set it. Can someone refresh my memory?

The track is very bumpy when compared to the Simbin/Gilles75/HemiR version. Is Curitiba bumpy in real life? Or does this Reiza/VheEth version need road mesh?

yes sir, very
They run it in the Gatebil Extreme Class her in norway which isnt really BOPed. If you have bunch of pretty extreme "time attack cars" they could race together.

I've been a photographer at these races a bunch of times, this year there's everything from the lotus to Sierra Cosworths, Ultimas, to time attack EVOS and Huracan Evos

this years lineup so far:
https://gatebil.no/extreme2020_deltakere/

and everyone is on the track at the same time.

Last years race at Rudskogen

announcer mess up a great video, SHuT UP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use the recommended compression (LZW) often, especially after installing a lot of new mods. Yes, it does work, it's very reliable, and it really does compress very efficiently, not 50%, but more like 30-40% (100GB uncompressed, about 34GB compressed). For my sim PC, I have an i7 processor with Windows 10, and AC is installed on an SSD. In this case, because the compression is part of Windows and relies on the CPU, the compressed files seem to load slightly faster, but not so much that it's that significant. However, around 600GB of files compressed to about 240GB, that's the real benefit (and this is on a 500 GB SSD). If someone experiences longer load times with compressed files, it may be a hardware or other issue that's affecting it.

I also remove extra files, like Photoshop templates, and keep those on a larger HDD drive, where I keep all the original compressed mod files, as has been recommended by others.

It's a great mod... except the brakes are horrible (when I tried it). Turning down or off ABS improves it, but compared to other cars/mods, you have to brake a few hundred feet before a turn. I was trying it at Pembrey, and while most cars can brake at the first and second markers at the first turn, you have to start braking at the bend, probably twice the distance. Several times, braking at the places I usually do, I'd have to go straight, and through the gap in the barriers, and the runoff area, before the barriers, is at least 40 feet.

Thanks guys, so much!

From original post: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...ral-discussion.307899/page-1153#post-13104752 which I bookmarked now ;)
Ok, did a test. Took 30 Guerilla GT4s, as they seem to be the ones that take up most resources. Did this:

MAIN=3, 6, 9, 14
GBUFFER=3, 6, 9, 14
SHADOWS=3, 6, 9, 14
SPECTATING_MAIN=6, 20, 40, 200
SPECTATING_GBUFFER=3, 12, 24, 24
SPECTATING_SHADOWS=3, 12, 12, 24
MIRROR=2, 2, 6, 7

Really excited to try this.

@ales100i , have you refined your settings any since your original post?

haha. it's a rip from when it was on tv here in Norway. but yeah, they are kinda horrible, and also the speaker on track so his voice is completely broken after yelling for three days. Hopefully they will a english version this year.

@Teddie

No, went to 12 visible, but it happend in first corner of first lap on a couple of races where the first corner is higher or lower (SPA, Sonoma), that i saw only shadows running in the distance and was bothering me, and went back to 14. But could of easily left in on 12, as this is the only time you see this during any race.

Got ya. So I'm looking at the file in mydocuments. It doesn't contain the [VISIBLE_CARS] settings block. Do I just copy and paste that [VISIBLE_CARS] setting from the one in the game root folder?

What version of CSP do you use. I think this was introduced from 1.56 onwards. I don't remember that i had to add anything, it was already there. But hell, add it, no harm can be done. You will see in the race if it works.
