Hi guys,
Anyone have any experience with the LMP and GT car megapacks as provided in this forum? when used as AI, it would seem that these cars go off track at most corners....didn't test with various tracks, but the higher end mods that I have don't do this....Just wondering, before deleting these cars, whether there might be an easy fix for this issue? Appreciate any insight, thanks guys!...;)

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your absolutely fantastic work! I never knew what awesome racetracks are in South America !!!
A certain Mr. Tilke should go on vacation to Brazil and take a look at some of it! Maybe it helps!

Yeah, I'm perfectly chilled thanks. And no, he doesn't seem to be as welcomed as others by some members here. At least they should man up and admit it and apologize.
But if you wanna continue in denial that's your right.

Since you seem to be speaking for him for some unknown reason, I'll help you out if I can.
You want people to now bend over and kiss the guys feet? I doubt that's gonna happen here. Why would anyone?

Back to helping you out, its quite simple: Of all of his 112 posts, 98% of them are asking for cars and tracks, asking others to do his leg work to get him things and repeatedly asking if members can go get things at websites where he can't reach - then bring them back here for him. Then asking others to do conversions to fulfill his wish list. All the while, ignoring the fact there's a search bar right on the top.

daan did say long ago he isn't doing anything wrong, understandable. I don't know if he see's an overall majority of his posts asking for stuff. Which many see as annoying, for the reasons above.

So that's sorta the jist of how a lot of tribes work. Ever seen a large group of elephants and there's that 'one' calf that just wont feed himself while blowing his trunk the loudest all over the forest? So the tribe just pushes him into the muddy river to fend for himself?

Sorta like that.

Yeah I know I just wanted to be specific about the name :) I already have the VAO (via CM) but that hasn't added any track lighting

It would appear to me by looking at the track mod, there are no actual lights most of the way around the circuit. Probably explains why nobody has done a lighting config for it! :dopey:

Autódromo Internacional de Cascavel - Version 2.0
...
I think Cascavel has become my favorite track.
I spent 5 hours on it on Sunday with Leon EuroCup, Peugeot 106, BMW M3 E30, Mercedes 190E, Ford Escort RS1600 ...
I love bumpy tracks like Jacarepagua, Sonoma, Horsma Raceway Trophy (great !), Thompson Road ...
Wild and rough.
Thank you very much for your fantastic work.

Hence my confusion for the line.. "- Added lighting" in the changelog by Delta7Fox! I would really love there to be lights, I think it would be an awesome track for some Endurance racing :)

Thanks for the appreciation Fana.
Curitiba is a pine cone in the ass. There will be updates, but the track remains bumpy.

As I said before, I have totally no problems with bumpy tracks, but this one and especially the last part of the S/F straight is really too much since AI cars (and occasionally my own, even though I know what is coming) lose control right before the braking point for the first corner.
But no worries, more amazing Brazilian tracks to choose from... :)

Here's Volume 6 of the Assetto Corsa Multiple Track Mod Review Project or ALTERNATIVE TITLES ARE HARD

Volume 1 - A is here.

Volume 2 - B is here.

Volume 3 - C and D is here.

Volume 4 - E, F, and G is here.

Volume 5 - H and I is here.

I have also added a Testing Car field to show which car I used to do the testing with. I'm going back and adding that to all the previous volumes as well.

This one has nice looking grass that could be enhanced with a grassfx update. The surroundings look good and I don't notice anything amiss with it. The track surface is pretty smooth. The mountains are a bit smaller than real life, but it's not really a deal breaker. Overall a pretty good conversion from rFactor.
Update: I adapted Sliderman's config INI originally made for the Terra21 version to this track and gave it some grassfx and it looks great. This was already the version to get, but with the updated grass it's even better. The updated ini for the grass can be downloaded here:

Folder Name: jacarepagua_historic
Author: Terra21
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/3cdap1w3wuccich/jacarepagua_historic.rar
This one has a lot of signs that are badly stretched to the wrong aspect ratio and it basically just doesn't look very good. The driving is fine, and it has grassfx. The mountain backdrop looks cartoonish compared to the other one, but the mountains actually appear to be the proper size.

There's a bunch of inside-out trackside objects here, like tents and trucks where you can see the inside when you should really be able to see the outside. Street lamps glow red, I got stuck in the road near the last corner. Pretty bad. For how bad it is, it's still better than a lot of his pay tracks.

This one fixes all of the problems pointed out above. It still looks like an old track, there's only so much you can do with the source material, but it's leaps and bounds better than the Gilles version. This is definitely the one to get.

Kirkistown

Ford Mustang 2015

The track is bumpy because the mesh is pretty low poly, and the placement of the pit stalls is on the wrong side of the pit lane, but as far as Gilles conversions go this isn't the worst. It's not great by any means and not worth paying for.

Unfortunately the pit lane is not functional as a pit lane. That's probably a pretty easy fix. Some of the trees/bushes are a bit repetetive and the 3D grass could be replaced with grassfx but despite these shortcomings it's still better and more fun to drive than the Gilles version. This would be a cool track to revisit and fix up.
Update: I fixed the pit lane issue and added grassfx here:

Knockhill

This track has really harsh lighting, very repetetive trees, harsh transitions between grass and sand, an ugly grass texture, and is overall pretty old looking. Not horrible but not great either. There are better options now.

Folder Name: knockhill
Author: Terra21

Basically the same as Tiago Lima's version with color corrected textures.

Now this one is beautiful. The road has way more feel, the grass looks great, the track has a lot of atmosphere, and overall it has had a lot of attention paid to the little details that make the place look real. This is one of my favorite tracks in the game. Then I started racing at night and fell in love all over again. This is a wonderful mod. Also included are the 2017 layout and a reverse layout.

This is a pretty rough conversion. It's got harsh lighting, bad and repetetive textures, and many signs with the textures stretched to the wrong aspect ratio. The whole place just looks crowded and blah. The road surface doesn't feel any better than this place looks.

This is a slightly enhanced version of the other one, but it's still not very good. There are many great versions of this track from different eras but it's a shame that this particular era is lacking in quality mods. This is the one to get if you need this track from this time period, but otherwise just get one of the other good ones.

This track is really fun to drive on in the right car. A Pagani Huayra was the car I used for testing here at first and it was definitely not the right car. (I usually let CM pick a random car for me for these tests and only switch it if it seems wildly inappropriate). Once I switched to the Formula Renault I had a much better time. Nothing bad about the way it looks other than some grass growing where it probably shouldn't.

This is a rework of the other version and it is mostly optimization and AI changes. It also fixes the grass. It makes an already good track into a great one. Grab this one!

This track is definitely old looking, but it's still pretty good. Main problems I have with it are that the trees are a bit ugly and yellow, and there's a lot of flickering in them. Not sure what the deal is with that. Trackside objects look fine, the signs look good, and it's overall a pretty cool rendition. The transitions from sand to grass are a bit harsh and there's some pretty bad 3d grass going on. With some modern attention this could really be improved...

Folder Name: zw_autopolis
Author: Zwiss
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/9g5hvh8mxflyesu/Autopolis_NFS_by_Zwiss_v2.0.zip/file
...Which is exactly what Zwiss has done here. The improvements are so numerous that it's hard to believe it's the same track. He's eliminated the harsh angular white road lines, replaced the trees with something that looks nice. Made the trackside look much less busy, added grassfx, and all kinds of little touches that make it more realistic. This is DEFINITELY the version to get.

So, this is the 4th one of these incomplete versions of this track out there and really, to be honest none of them are worth getting. Wait for the codemasters conversion which will come eventually.

It's a basic start but it really needs a lot more work before it's ready to release. The walls don't work, the trees are repetetive, and seems like it's pre-alpha. Plus the track is so large and the center point of the map is so far from the racing surface that everything shakes like crazy. I think this track is just a bit too big for AC's engine to handle.

Thanks so much again for another update.

Every time I see another, I have to make some time to sit down and review your suggestions versus what I have installed, and again, I always end up with better versions.

A couple of things I noted (as I'm sure others have)
You suggest a Knockhill 2017, which as two layouts, but unfortunately, the MEGA download is no longer available.

Kyalami 2016 isn't mentioned
One of THE BEST mods available for AC, as good or better than Kunos tracks. Prototype_ went above and beyond to create this mod as he went to the track to take reference photos. For an AC version, it's about as good as the version in ACC.

Any of you got an invisible small wall, after installing the 'rollovers_cremona__cams+images+vao' addon to Cremona track?
It affects also the AI.

q9qg.jpg

This is not related to the add-on, it's once again a small piece on the road called WALL something. It create a collidable object and every mod with a collider setted to low will have issue.
Take Kunos Audi TT Cup and there is no issue.
The mod in your picture obviously have issue and if you use the new audi v8 DTM, it will also have issue.
It's an issue with the cars. Track could easily be modified but I think the real fix must be at car side. But I don't know how to make a collider higher along with the car.

Just to clarify, the object has to have the name 1WALL to cause a collision, if it's just WALL, that should be fine. I use walls in Race Track Builder to make skid marks and as long as the name isn't 1WALL and just WALL it's ok.

Yes you're right, to be complete the name is 1WALL_46_s0.

edit: if a car maker could be kind and give advice on where to get origin coordinate of a car and how to modify it ? I suppose it can only be modified in a 3d software like blender but I can be wrong.

Haha yes, did you see my posts earlier today?yes, there's an invisibile wall down that straight too..

You are right, it happened with the new Audi v8 DTM aswell.
Tried with a few (no Kunos cars) more and didn't happen.

Super easy in Blender, I've moved a few cars that were positioned too far forward or off centre and you just select all objects, move, export, check how it looks and fiddle about with trial and error until it's correct. Not tried it with a collider as I tend to just copy whichever Kunos car is closest, but in theory it should work exactly the same.

Just had to try and see it for myself... and find this invisible wall a lot of you are raising here... Watched a few GT4 replays and all cars behaved well around the track... With one exception, the Subaru BRZ GT4 '15 (v1 reworked by Beezer back in Mar2020) was been driven by AI when it jumped off the road with a lot of sparks around T3 as posted by @Paulo Ribeiro...

Checked track and found line-marker (1WALL_46) that was raised here. Checked car's collider just in case and found it to be way off when compared to the Toyota equivalent... so as a quick fix, copied the 'collider.kn5' file across, watched the same saved-replay and no more issues for the Subaru on T3... note: check the cars' collider also...

would not know how to adjust the track-issue, so if someone knows and is willing to share some time and intel, more than happy to learn...

@Teddie
Thank you for sharing your work, they are highly appreciated contributions.

Could you check zolder 67 again? there is a section of the track without grass fx and it is strange, thanks!

Thanks guys. Will fix tonight. Thanks for the heads up. :)

I'll run through the search and see what else I missed. I think someone posted cameras.

lol, I've seen the CM setting for the Delorean, but I never thought to look for the actual car. Chivas's site had it of course:
https://chivas-autoart.wixsite.com/home/download-lac

[EDIT] wait... now I can't find the Delorean setting in CM. Did he remove it from later versions of CSP?

Update by leBluem: "oh it does work, make sure you put something in the text-box that is really in the car's folder name, maybe your delorean's folder is called "dmc..." or something"

Thanks much! Someone posted earlier where the settings were, but I did not think about the actual name of the delorean mod. Going to have to try it tonight. :) Thanks agian.

Since for some unknown reason you seem to be speaking for those attacking him I'll help you. Taking his side because noone else does, except the moderator here, and because I don't scare bullies. The rest of your text is just typical nonsense trying to excuse bullying, nothing new.

Mate. We've told him 5 times there's no way to get these absolute ***** cars and every week he just comes back and asks the same ****ing question. He's either daft, a troll - or both.

Whoops, I usually check the download links first but I forgot this time but someone posted a new link for Knockhill2017 a couple pages back so I’ll fix that. (And now I see the post right above this one posted a link as well)

As for Kyalami 2016, I mentioned in another post that I didn’t include that one in this because it technically doesn’t have another track that it duplicates. It and 67 are much better quality than the two tracks mentioned here but neither of them have the same layout as each other so they aren’t duplicates of each other, and neither has the same layout as the ones reviewed here so they aren’t duplicates of them either.

The project is about discussing which track is the better one to download when you’ve got more than one option for a particular track and I decided at the beginning that layouts that have changed over the years wouldn’t be considered the same track, since adding a chicane here and removing a corner there fundamentally changes the track. It doesn’t make the newer version bad, it just doesn’t make it a duplicate of the old track.

When the duplicate project started it was just a way for me to weed out the bad duplicate tracks and determine which one to keep. When I finish the Zs I’m probably going to do a “best of AC mods” review series which will include a list and my impressions of just the best of the best quality mods and Kyalami 2016 would definitely be included there because it’s one of the best mod tracks out. I hope that sparks some discussion and helps me find new tracks I don’t know about too since I’m sure there’s great tracks out there I don’t know about.

I don’t know enough about the cars side of AC modding to tackle the same duplicate project for cars, but I think it would be really valuable to the community if someone else better suited to it did that because man, there’s a lot of duplicate cars out there and I’d love some help weeding out the garbage there!

just want to make sure that everyone knows I didn’t mean any offense in forgetting to mention Kyalami 2016 here in this project, I didn’t forget, it just doesn’t apply here.

Btw, Pessio released his new (and first payed) car - SCORPION TC 1.0 RAD.

Nice! I was looking at the Pressio site and I'm surprised he doesn't showcase the Porknose. They did that car as well, no?

Thank you 10x !!! Great!
Didn't you like my grassfx setup for SAnta Cruz?
No problem for me to integrate it

I was using it :) What was different about your grassfx btw, or was there no grassfx in Veh's?
