I am currently working on an update to new-plymouth-r-t-b-revised-w-i-p.21200/
with permission of Neil. I also want to add more buildings in the city, etc...

Hi @Mike08 or anyone who knows the track,

May I ask Just a quick question after watching the video in Race Dept. Does this road track also have a designated pit area? i noticed in the notes
in Race Dept it said it had 50 starting grid spots.

That's great! I just did a complete rework of this pack for a "grip tune" because I felt the originals were just too loose for GT1 cars in 1997. Wish I was a skinner because I'd help but I tinker more in ini files. Looking forward to seeing how they come out.

So it's not just me who thought that? Could this be downloaded somewhere maybe? Would love to try how you updated them?

yes it has a pit area. just test it.
i don't know how much cars maximum are working good on this track.
I am not an AI specialist... i only can say, the AI drivers drive, yes. And i always had fun on this track with AI. :D
 
Looking at this video on how to install the "new" rain, am I the only finding the process of installation mindbogglingly complicated, to the point I am not even going to try. To the people that are close to the project, is their a plan in the future to have it just integrated in CM?


i am hoping when rain-FX becomes official, we just install the correct SOL properly per the manual settings which i have done a couple times, and select the latest shader patch to get full rain effects to work. Pretty straight forward how to do without the full Rain-FX.

I have to look at that video again, not sure why he was fooling around with the CM serial number at the beginning of video. I have the full version of CM.
Added: Ah - that new key is just for patreon testers.

i will worry about this when Rain-FX gets fully released.

i will see how well it works with 11-15 cars for me.

I'm late to the party and need some help. A while back people were complaining that they'd do one first race and FPS would be fine then second race a huge drop. I'm getting that too. First race is 120 fps at Le Mans 16 car grid and second goes all the way down to 50 fps. WT flying F??
Was there a fix for this? I have SOL 1.7 and switching to 1.5 doesn't help. Turned the clouds basically off, doesn't help. Downgraded CSP to 1.61 doesn't help.
I swear sometimes AC is just fixing what's wrong instead of driving cars.

I was one of those having some frame rate weirdness. I never really figured it out.

Before this started I did upgrade to CSP 1.62 and tried the DXGI fiip mode, but didn't notice any difference, so I turned it off. I also added an app. I later noticed frame rate had taken a dump. I reinstalled CSP, SOL, got rid of all my apps, but nothing seemed to change. I think it was Masscot who mentioned possible memory leaks, but in monitoring, everything looked okay. It got me thinking though, so I started examining my Windows install. In the updates page I found a failed update attempt, so I let it update again and restarted.

I was working on ai, so I decided to give up on figuring out the problem for the time being. I ran a bunch of short test races. Seemed like it was same situation. Good at first then in subsequent races, the frame rate dropped. After several, I noticed frame rate started coming back incrementally, until it was back to normal. Weird.

It's been back to normal since, and I went back to 1.62 without frame rate issues. I also added that app I was trying to install. I did eventually go back to 1.60 as it seems like the new VRC update to the Formula NA's don't like it for some reason. Sometimes I would get 15 fps with those cars and 1.62. Going back to 1.60 and they seem fine.

Hope you get it solved.
 
So after experimenting with ford doran je4 and the ford riley dp, im making a livery/skin pack for one of my favorite championship in the world the F.I.A GT Championship.So if your a 90s GT fan i think you will be happy about this. I don't know when this pack will be released, i don't have a due date for this. But this is aimed for the 1997 Season. If anyone is good at making liveries/skins and want to help out on this pack please PM me. I want to make this pack big and i want more people helping me, so i can release this pack out fast, Heres a photo for you guys.

Now, this I will love to see, just a friendly wonder. You ever got interested in doing the BPR skins as well? Since most of the GT1s has been released. (apart from the F40 GTE which we haven't got yet)

Sure, I uploaded the "round 1" of work on the cars for another member on here. I've since done a bit more tweaking so it's time to reupload. I'll do that tonight, would like to see what you think. I'm really liking it on my wheel. More driving and less fighting.

Thanks for responding Kevin. Haven't figured it out yet. I'm not reinstalling Windows though. It can't be that, I don't see how it would. I'm not having an issue in ACC, PC2 or AMS2. The thing is, it's dropping into the 40s-50s but I guess G-Sync is keeping it somewhat smooth. Sometimes I wonder if I'm getting a wrong framerate reading. I'm scratching my head at what Content Manager could be loading the second time around that's loosing me almost 100 FPS. And it's different tracks too. Is it loading SOL twice? Maybe. Is it loading something in CSP twice?
I'm going to run diagnostics to see where the draw is. We're not the only ones this is happening to so I would think a fix is coming. AC is still usable but makes my OCD skyrocket faster than Elon Musk's Space X Falcon 9.

Yes, i've always wanted to do the xj220 lm #17 and marcos gt2 #83 etc. But for now im focusing on the F.I.A GT and @Zin5ki is doing a good job with bpr skins, which is why im not doing BPR right now.

Nice to see these updated but they're still massive - only LOD D is within recommended poly counts so it'd be good if some hefty optimisation could be done on the models.
Eight gears with H-shifter too - I think that's meant to be paddles. I don't know of any gated shifters with eight forward gears.

Yeah I’m like that too.14:00 is the time I usually stick to, so I have no reason for SOL, but kudos to the creators for it, as it helps to keep AC at the forefront of minds.
Haha... yes 14:00 is my starting point! How does this new track look at 14:00 and Few Summer? Then I’ll change time and weather if needed until I get my aesthetic peak.

It was just a small patch or security update. For some reason it botched on the first attempt.

Hello @Gregz0r and others,

On the SOL topic, anyone correct me if I am wrong, but the main purpose of SOL was to give us a full 24 hour time lapse to do
day to night and night to day transitions. The original game does not do that. Plus SOL has weather sky condition settings.
I have no plans to do a 24 hour lemans race, but I do flip through the hours of the day and night with SOL.

So, I like using SOL and does not hurt my system far as FPS, if it does I dont notice it. and I also use VR.
I thought you needed SOL along with the Shader patches, but I guess I am wrong.
Like yourself and some others, I guess you dont have to use SOL.

Just tried out the New Plymouth road track and I really like it with VR- very scenic and nice elevations.
The pits work great and the cars are angled out instead of being in a straight row..
I ran a few short races with 19 AI cars with the Radical SR3 mod and all did very well.
It is a nice fast pace type of track

Couple of sharp left turns, the "red left side line" might be brought out away from the kerb just a little bit more so the AI do not go
up on the raised curb sidewalk when bunched up. Rest of the track with the AI s great. Once Single file no problems

I get a lock at 40 fps with using my Rift S VR headset and racing is still smooth and no stuttering or problems at all.
I usually get this several city tracks like Rio, Chicago, etc. but racing is still very smooth for me.

Just some feedback, Did not know about this track.

Yes I didnt want to bring this up, but I also see the same thing in corner E. Cars are really slow going up that one hill - it is like there is AI hints on at that location. Rest of the track the AI are good speeds.

Removed seemingly erroneous ai_hints, and added a few for good measure. New pit lane to keep cars from hitting wall at narrow entrance ( I hope, it's tight), and split the middle of pit area. Side lines cleaned up a little for a few less cones being thrown across track and crashes at the first hairpin.
 
Odd question, i've been doing some Ai experimenting trying to fix an Ai on one of the tracks, i've gotten the basic line fixed, but how do I actually make them pass each other? I know some tracks use an AI hints file, but I have not found how to make this work or configure. Would someone please explain how this works to me? A metaphorical Ai Hints for Dummies.

Additionally, some KS tracks and a few mods have cars spinning off and piling up in places, is that a normal Ai file thing i need to fix, or is this related to AI hints? (It seems i'm biting off more than I can chew)
