If anyone is on a lemans buzz they way I am now, and has the grid from Neil, and we can find a compatible time with us antepodeans (gmt+10) I would be super keen to do a couple hours stints with a few fellas, anyone keen to host this up? or know a server that runs this config?

I have checked every version of Keimola made for GTL/GTR2/rF/Race and there is 2 big problems:

1. a big piece of grass mesh is missing from the center of the track
2. background allows track elevations to expose white space

It seems that Gmotor2 masked the issue with #1 and skyboxi masked the bkg issue and these 2 issues simply kill this great historic track.

Q: Is anyone willing to patch/fix these 2 issues so we have the best Keimola ever released?

Send the fbx and the persistance ini file in an upload, will poke a stick at it for you. (decompiling the kn5 does not always carry everything correctly)

You can always make your own, that one looks great. You should check that if you always wanted one. I'm just waiting for a physics update since brakes locks a bit too easily

You always seem to miss the point when you jump in as sim racings defender of encryption.

The point is, like with me I have some encrypted mods by espirit as he is one of the best modders out there for car feel.

But I am still against someone ripping cars from another game then encrypting it....

You can have something but still be critical of it....

Also if it wasn't encrypted you could alter the brakes yourself...

It is IMO an indisputable FACT that encrypting a mod you ripped from someone else IS not right
(up there with selling ripped mods IMO)..... it doesn't mean I won't use it though if it is good....

You seem hell bent on defending the indefensible...

Imagine it like stealing a padlocked bike, then buying 5 padlocks to keep 'your' new bike secure...

I'm not a "Defender of Encryption", I don't understand not getting a mod because of that reason. I judge them based on their quality, not on encryption. If someone likes the Diablo I would tell him to get this one. I wouldn't encrypt any mod if I didn't make scratch made models for it that someone might sell for other games and stuff like that, but if someone else did for his mod, what can I do about that? There are encrypted mods I would never get like Guerrilla's GT4 since they have many issues (at least last time I checked them) and because of encryption I would not be able to fix them, but in some cases (ddm, dareks, this diablo) I know that the authors will keep updating them until they are fine so I don't care if they are encrypted or whatever. About encrypting being right or not, it's not up to me to judge, if you're against it, don't get them. But still, no one is doing any wrong to you by encrypting their mods. You really wanted a car but it's encrypted? Make one

I too backed off to 1.60, every time I start CM i get that warning that FTH has been triggered.. hope they can get that sorted.



@NeilB1971 many many thanks, this was an awesome pack, all the cars, all the layouts, in one simple to download and isntall package, if you have other "packs" I would love to know about them please.



I noticed some "stuck in midair" objects going around the chicanes, not sure if issue with track or CSP, they look like maybe tyre bits / marbles flicked up then stuck in midair, but with Neils LMP grid.. not that noticeable when all thats on the mind is surviving between the pack on the first 2-3 laps. Would be nice to know a fix though. And yes the backwards Heli.. I just imagine its an overweight guy in his late 40's that won the lotto, dumped the wife, and is flying his heli over lemans, when suddenly, he spotted his ex wife..

I too have the neils pack as linked here the other day. I too would like more of these styles of packs as you mention as they really are great, id like to so see more people do such bundles like Neils and Ales100i.

However, i dont have space to install neils pack all in 1 go.
So my question is, is there any chance you would be so kind as to let me know what cars i would need to install (from the pack) to have each season work separately?

For example,
Lets say i just want to install the 2016 season for now, what cars would i need to install from neils pack, to just have the 2016 quick drive active?
or if i just wanted to just install the 2006 season, what cars would i need to to install from the pack to just active that?

Basically is there any chance you could break down each season and just screen shot or write down the cars i would need to find from the pack and ill then activate and enjoy them separately in smaller more bite-size packs that i can install and uninstall when i have used them etc.

If its a huge headache to do that, of course dont, but as you have them all installed with quick drives i though it might be possible to break it down further so i can just install mabey 250mb rather than 20gb :)

download and edit the presets, open in notepad, you will see the listings per pack.

sounds good and will send shortly! For now I have created a extra ,kn5 with a new row of trees, so bad attempt!
I think terrain fixes should be done with an extra model, right?

I just ran a pair of 3:35's with the newest version of the 961. It is great around LeMans. Curious to know what others run as well.

Currently im at 3.38 but i am losing losts of time on the final sector as i dont really know the track very much and im either breaking on corners that i dont need to brake for, or im over shooting them and then slowing down to much on the exit...

However when i drive this car i just keep repeating listers line from this scene to myself :)

Are you deliberately being like this?

I already said i have encrypted mods if they are good mods.... i doesn't bother me in that respect...but it is a fact that it is wrong behaviour (if the model is stolen), in the grand scheme of the world it is nothing, a minor thing...but the context in this forum is sim racing and modding...

My opinion is i don't agree with it but i will still have the mod.....

Just why do you do nothing on here until someone says a comment about encryption?

You clearly have a dog in the fight and are here to keep tabs on what is going on with your mates encrypted mods they nick from forza.....

We have a pretty robust way of setting tracks up now that cater for CSP and vanilla users with no file swapping required (which most users probably don't even realise is required, even if it's mentioned in ReadMe notes etc) so maybe, hopefully, the track will be updated at some point. I bet there are many users of this track who are effectively using it 'wrong' because these days people expect stuff just to work straight out of the box, and reading is hard.
