Question about CSP. When I update to 1.60 I get a black screen when entering a race (audio is playing and the HUD is visible, so looks like something's wrong with shaders or lighting or something).

When I go back to 1.46, it's fine again. Any ideas?
Open the new photo app ingame and change the aspect ratio to 16:9

My archive for Nurburgring:
-GTR2
Nurburgring 2001 v1_0 by zwiss for GTR2
Nurburgring 2005 v3_0 by zwiss for GTR2
Nuerburgring_BMW-2 (2007)
Nuerburgring.v2.0-GTR2
Nuerburg GP 2007 - v2.0

Perhaps @Zwiss should be the one to convert it ;0

Nürburgring 2001 is converted from F1 2001.. so very low poly and the geometrics are very 'wrong'.
Gilles has already converted it.. but improving it would mean: re-making it..
The run up to the last chicane feels totally wrong.. I would not put effort in that version tbh.
Though I would love to have a version with the layout from that era.

More and more often, whenever I try to start a race via CM, it takes an eternity to attempt to start the race only to be followed by the message, 'Race Cancelled.' The strange thing is, that on occasion, it launches the original Assetto Corsa launcher in the background (you can tell by the music) and then I use task manager to close the original AC launcher which will occasionally allow me to start a race properly, but this is becoming more and more frequent, I'd say that half of the races I try to start just won't, and it isn't because of the car or track.

Does/has anyone else ever had this issue? And is there a way to solve it? It gets very irritating very quickly.

Cheers,
RenaultDJRTP

This might not be the case but could be of some help, sounds like what I get when I try to start a race in CM without having steam already open and logged in. Steam window itself doesn't need to be up but as long as the icon shows it logged in the taskbar next to where your WI FI connection is for example. I will get a similar thing where I'm guessing CM is having an issue as it waits to freshly log into steam and then the game starts up itself bypassing CM entirely. For me in this situation I just make sure steam is already loaded up before starting any race, again could be different issue you have but might point in right direction?

Which SOL version you have installed?

Question: Can we cheat on a road race server online?
ex:
- modify the characteristics of the car (Data)
- External software that drives your car.

All this without being detected (except in replay)

Try first to disable , EXTRA FX, RAIN FX, WEATHER FX in custom shaders if you have activated them.

As a security exprtt/hacker I deal with "threat modelling" often...
I have been wondering if cheating is possible via CSP... (I am not advocating cheating!)

Thinking about it awhile back, there is one clear way to "cheat" by swapping out or hiding models in tracks and cars.
In GTR2 the Corvette C5 had a big roll bar in the window and it was difficult to see on cockpit only servers, simply deleted that rollbar in 3dSimed.

With AC/CSP you can do the same, remove the car body... remove a structural blindspot on a track via CSP.
AFIAK the server cannot "see" your car/track, only that the .kn5 checksum matches and the data.acd matches (servers will check track/data folder. Turning off weather related visuals, night to day and other scenarios seem possible. If this is done locally, there is no way to detect a user is "hiding" models/objects that is outside of the servers checksums.

IF CSP will touch physics via ./extension/ext_config.ini then you will see widespread cheating unless other checks are put in place serverside

I'm just going to say this isn't the "Ginetta" the RWD from PC1 + 2? Cause if so why would they use the RWD as the Ginetta when velo has a WIP of the Ginetta coming. Plus wouldn't that be the first-ever RWD LMP 1 mod that came to AC? If so then where the hell is the marek? IMHO they'd be fun to add into the LMP1 and LMP2 roster (loved driving them in the PC games especially on number 2)

Those fake LMP cars that were created by SMS were rubbish. The Ginetta model in the ACF pack is the same as irl car, but its just had some physics copied into the model. Id be interested to see what the Velo mod is like when its released

Where to change System UI unit to meters? (LOL how much Noob am I? From 0 to 10, 11)

Hi,
is it possible to edit the dashcam ingame, saying moving it a little bit forward? Or only via the .ini file in the data.acd?

Yeah but it require a bit of work, Within Content Manager you first need to enable Developer Mode by clicking on "about" screen repeatedly. Mitch9 and ales100i has recently explained in the last page.

Next you need to unpack the car data by right clicking any car and click "Open car in Content Tab". Within the content tab screen, right click near the bottom of the screen and a hidden toolbar will open. You'll see unpack car data.

After unpacking a new data folder will open. Next you need to delete or rename the old data.acd
(BTW Make a backup copy of data.acd if you try this with a Kunos car)

During ingame, open the right side menu you'll now see the Developer apps section and the camera editor app, You can edit and save the car camera setting ingame.

First click on any of the F1-1 to F1-6 then change the direction setting that suit you, Then save.

Fun tip: I highly recommend changing the bumper camera into a Gran Turismo style rooftop camera! Have fun!

@Jimlloyd etc.
Is it possible to fix the sand in Bathurst Mt Panorama v1.1.1? It has the same sound and feel as Tarmac, whereas it should be like more sand-like.

Yeah. the sand in some of LilSki's tracks (e.g., Bridgehampton) feels just like the tarmac. Makes a mockery....

"Alberto Daniel Russo is an excellent master", i think i mentioned it
"What if I'm a beginner and dont know what to compare". If you dont know how to compare two files/folder it's urgent you learn how to
"You hide your changes..." Really? not very well hidden.
"...I have no desire to try your version!" Alleluyah, I don't force anyone to do it
NB:
I always mention my sources by a link in the description of the car and sometimes (often also) the performance and / or characteristics of the mod are relatively far from reality. I allow myself to modify them but you are not obliged to download.
Just one example, it is very very rare to find mods with the right tire sizes, which modify both the RPM for a given speed and obviously the maximum speed. But to play arcade you don't need all that.
have a nice day
You still did not understand me! I can personally open the data file and compare, but why? There should always be a text file with the changes in the download. This is the only thing I would like, that's all! I want to know before downloading whether I need to do this or not. There are many machines with changes on this forum and not all changes are necessary for me. Forgive that the first time you did not understand me.

P.S. Don't make fun of me about arcade games.
I have been doing racing simulators for quite some time.:gtpflag:

That is beyond arrogant.

Perhaps the chances of getting an opinion considered would be better when writing as a "tip, tip or suggestion for improvement", rather than when it comes across as "criticizing, complaining or demanding".
