I suppose it’ll be nice to have a full roster but it’s funny how sim racers would do anything to have a race car that wasn’t actually any good. Same goes for the 2015 GT-R LM Nismo and most pre-96 GT1 cars.

I feel like that’s why we’re drawn to them: they were short-lived failures. We all know about the icons of Motorsport, but it’s the obscure ones... maybe they did something completely different than the opposition, or maybe the car was just so catastrophically bad that everyone remembers it. These cars are common in reality yet rarely represented in racing games, hence why we tend to treasure them when they show up... at least that’s how I see it.

that Mustang 2004 is a car I converted from TDU to GTR2/rFactor (including Maco version)
The physics were some of the best and realistic according to reviews at the time.
I can provide everything needed if someone wants to convert it, with my permission

Aston Martin DTM underneath is Mercedes DTM from previous year when Mercedes pull out of DTM has Private project with no factory support from Aston Martin that probably the reason why you only saw it for one year. To me it look like a good quality DTM mod on par with the URD mod from the photos been post about it all ready.

There's the curiousity/collector angle but people will always want stuff - any stuff - just because it's not available to them. Advertisers and marketing departments have been using this quirk of human nature forever. Remember the godawful F1 Espace from RTM? Complete and utter garbage but probably the most 'desired' mod in AC history simply because it cost a fortune and wasn't leaked for an age. See also the diamond industry where de Beers buy all inventory they can to control supply and create false rarity (and therefore desirabilty and inflated prices) for what is actually the most common gemstone available. Diamonds being 'rare' is one of the longest cons ever played.

I'm sure @TheRealCeeBee knows more about this than I ever will, lol.

I got two Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale mods, but they are both seems overpowered (as I put them against the 996 GT3RS). Wondering if anyone got any other mods or will modify their power

And according to the power figures, it shouldn't be over performing the GT3RS by too much (or should be underperforming sometimes)

They only lasted for one year, cause the engine supplier bailed out on them in the last minute and they were unable to get a replacement in time. But as you said, that was because the factory support were virtually non existent and had to rely on third party partners for parts. Which is very expensive.

I like it, cause it looks cool. I love DTM and all other modern cars all look the same. This one was a bit different.

No, that's not how it would work, scratch made and converted models mods will have their own category so that you already know that before downloading. It also probably won't allow any ripped model to be sold for money.

I don't get why recently people have been so over dramatic about csp, it wasn't like this months ago. I wonder what happened.

Stop writing about conspiracies or fake informations about it would surely help to see more actual modding in here and less complaining, there isn't a day without that kind of post now, following this path this thread will need to be renamed in "Assetto Corsa Modding Complaining Thread"

So the workshop is gonna be an online warehouse in fact, integrated with CM, where mods can be classified,searched, and bought. (?)

When i'm looking for a mod i don't need a CM with its predefined routes and suggestions. Even updates notifications are extremely annoying so i had to send CUP links to hell .

What about creators that do not care to go "the fallen Messiah" (ilya-s) way and it's distribution route?

I hope that all the CM "warehouse" aka workshop is only a gimmick for those lazy people that need everything integrated and given onto their table. (But for the price).

PS. Dont see how complaining is different from complaining about paid mods, encrypted mods, crappy mods, complaining about "hello", "thank you" ..."and so on
When CM will become modders (ilya-s) paradise probably we all become happy. (Joking)

After that you just need to play with the aero and tyre grip levels (and ofcourse the suspension) to get the cornering speeds right.

The ford Mustang GT-R concept is one of my favourite concept cars. Especially from seeing it in Grid 1 going up against the Camaro and challenger Concepts. The 2009 Corvette stingray.....Someone wants to become sideswipe?

I think it's mainly due to the fact that sim racers want to use these cars to their full potential look at the GT-R LM Nismo. We got mods for that and can use it at its full potential to what it could've reached if it worked (raced). Just like the pre '96 GT1s being similar. Made for us to use them at it's potential.

I know for sure it won't be the way you said. It's been only talked about a separation between mods scratch made and not.
If paid mods will get on there it probably will give the option to buy them since it usually is just a PayPal link that send you to the link page afterwards, nothing too fancy there.
The point of it would not be to put all the mods in one place, so if someone doesn't want to put his on there it can still be made the old way. The intent of it is to give more control over the overall quality so that people knows what to expect from the mods they are downloading, what quality standard is it on etc.
It will probably have (I can't be sure about how this would work) some control over edited mods, so if you made one (probably only for scratch made ones) it will tell you which other mods used yours as base.
So yes, to answer you, it will be a place to find and search mods and know about their quality before downloading them. Not sure what's in there to be worried about "the future of Modding" and how it should look like (who decides that anyway? Ilja can decide about his own mods)

So what's the hype about workshop?

is it actually much different from current "mods browser"*** inside CM based on chrome web-kit?

Why ilya [and company - remember that CSP is not a work of only one man, and beside it, some features are based on other open source projects - it's frankly mentioned in the credits] needs to spend so much time on it? Even by moving aside what was absolutely important for his supporters, mainly RAINFX.

Hype is generated by people, people that might not get what the thing they are hyped for is about. I wouldn't use hype as a measure unit for how important something is.

Considering RainFX more important is subjective. No one asked people to join the patreon just because of RainFX. It was up to people to join for that reason only, for a feature that once ready it would have been avaliable to everyone. I get why people might be upset for the delay but joining the patreon just for the good looking rain wasn't in my opinion the best choice.

Are you on his SimTraxx Discord group? He has a support category there to ask questions. I dont know if Kon has a no refund policy on bought tracks-which he might, I never bought any tracks from SimTraxx. I decided a while back to sign up to be a member to try/test all his tracks

OK so to clarify some things.
To access the rain fx costs as little or as much as you wish. So can be £1.
(i know variances in world economies mean that £1 is a lot, but in the UK if £1 was a struggle then i should not be playing computer games and maybe sort my life out...)

Further to that it isn't necessarily even £1 a month as you can cancel at anytime...so rain fx in its current state (it will not be worked on now i fear anyway) could be yours for £1..... with that i'd advise downloading 1.65 and 1.67 so you have copies of them....

So far so fair....

Rain fx isn't perfect right now, but definitely worth it just for the amazement the first time you load it all up.
Trust me in tests its better (visually) than ACC, Rfactor 2, AMS2, PCars 1 2 3 and DiRT.

Obviously i am not forcing people to get it, its all about personal choice, i play AC over everything else so its well worth it.

Just that it isn't a sly move to lock it behind a paywall even if it isn't in a finished state and they have moved onto this modding paradise idea..

Thanks for all the info @safi hellie on RainFX. I am in no hurry for this enhancement at this time, just wondering how far along it was cause it has been going on for quite a while now. Cost is not the issue. So I can wait till it is perfected if it ever gets to that stage. take care.

Hmm that is strange that he banned you unless you did it in very harsh words. Yes, most of SimTraxx track mods are works in progress and if you know a little bit on track modding, they can be somewhat fixed. But if the track needs a major update, then it has to be done by SimTraxx. Most people if you buy their pay mod tracks, they dont provide a refund back. So you almost have to read reviews on their work to see how reliable they are in their products before buying them. SimTraxx has allot of comments on their work in the past, one is on RaceDept and some here on this group, Most everyone here in this group knows about SimTraxx. take care.
