Imola 1995-2006 (2001) v0.devbeta2

Welcome to the development teaser of Imola, layout representing the years 1995-2006 with a focus on recreating the 2001 F1 race held at the famous circuit. This is not a formal release of any kind, please do not fork this version or otherwise distribute outside GTP.
The final version will be worth waiting.

I am releasing this dev beta to GTP for others to 1. enjoy a sneak peek, 2. help out making this a great track
Sometimes you need new eyes on a project, and mine are cooked.

The biggest consideration is historic accuracy, the walls and TSO as seen in game are now 98% accurate from raceday and incar videos from 2001
Thus, do not make any changes to disrupt the existing look of walls and fences except to fix flicker issues. Cranes are nearly perfectly placed now.

Read the earlier post about some issues, thus WALLS are a priority to sort out.

- 26 pit/start
- TV cam
- AI (bugged start but ok)
- surfaces and cut/anti-cheats working
- double obs removed except for wall obs (hopefully)
- 10 skins (new rough wip 2001 skin, others derived from source track variations)
- lights/rain/grass

GTP tasks to do:
1. help sort the walls, PM me for details
2. some texture normals/specular to be assigned
3. better AI, more cams (historic TV, spectator, trackside)
4. develop skins fully for 2001, add other historic entries, remove some "branding"
5. fix replay flickering
6. more...

Prefer fixes over patching via ext_config, please PM for questions or fixes, please do not fill the forum with them.
(Please do fill the forum with screenshots of the track!)

Amazing work, been wanting this layout for a while, Thank you!

Hi everybody,

I've been following this thread for a quite a while now, and have finally started doing a bit of skinning myself.

I have got most of, if not all, the basics of creating skins down, and have been enjoying doing that, but there are several things that for the life of me I cannot figure out by looking at already made ones, and can't seem to find instructions for, so I am hoping someone here would be willing to help me out.

For reference I have been working off of the URD Porsche 911 RSR 2018 as an example, and then trying to apply the concepts to the URD Darche EGT. But really I'm just trying to understand the overall general concepts, so I can work on anything.

Right now, there are 3 things I am trying to learn:

1. How do I add illuminated numbers for door number plates? I can see that I need to make a separate .dds for the numbers, but I'm unsure of the specifics of that image file. I also cannot seem to figure out how to place the item where I want it. The only thing I think I know is that I control the lighting with the lights.ini by in the car data folder.

2. How do I add Lumirank panels? (preferably on doors, but on windows would be cool too) I assume this will be similar to adding the door numbers. I can see that there seems to be a panel .dds, then separate texture folder with the individual numbers, and then a digitalinstruments.ini to control the whole thing, but beyond that I don't know what do do.

3. Lastly, can I place the digital mirror on LCD screens in the cars, while having the digital mirror on the top of the screen off? I feel like this is just an .ini setting also, but can't figure out what. Basically I have a bunch of cars with blank lcd screens, or regular rear view mirror views that are blocked by cross members and show you nothing. I'd like to fix that.

If anyone is willing to walk me through these steps, or point me to instructions, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help!

I think lumirank panels are done through CSP:

Not sure about the mirror but you can look for more functions here:

Can't seem to repeat that at my end, any chance of a video clip?

Thanks for the logo, all the little things add up.
I guess it must be the start engine app that I have installed.
I'll see if I can figure out how to make a clip... never done one before.

We got some spies with cameras hiding in bushes during test runs guys, that's what they found ;)
It needs just a couple of days to polish it so it's happening this week unless something really serious hold us back 👍
If anyone knows how to set a server for a funrace and would like to race together after the release then message me here in PM or on Discord!

Server bought and paid for, up and running now.

It's currently hosting a "GTPlanet Mod Team Special" consisting of the Honda NSX GT3 at RT Suzuka. Its set up as a simple 24/7 practice session for now, so feel free to jump on and test it.

@Wolf24h
If you would like to utilize the server I can create an event with the car and track of your choice for launch day if you would like?

I'm currently creating a roster of scheduled races that will run 24/7 the races will range from GTPlanet Mod Team Mods nights, Classics Night, GT3/F1 etc. but most importantly ARCADE CLASSICS Night which will include Daytona USA Special, SCUD, GRiD, DiRT, Forza and of course a splash of Mario Kart!

Nice, where did you convert it from?
Gta V

It is always (for me), a huge pleasure, to see someone working on a car that is not yet in AC. Thank you.

Wow, nice one. Thank you.

The same comment for @Opperslang also serves for you.

Yes, I think it's better to create new model than make an existing car already in AC....And I love wild machine ;)

Spray is very poor IMO, i have two CM presets, one with the dirt particles off and rain fx on. Other the reverse....

I mean i actually have about 20 CM presets, but don't start me on that....

(ones for each important variables, keep meaning to cull it down a bit but never do)
Are there particles of spry water in CSP? i have 1.6.0.0 version

Thank you for the invite, I asked people on my Discord for track suggestions and I'll send you a message when it's decided ;)

I have three AC installations, all of which work fine via Content Manager. I just copied my assettocorsa folder straight onto the drives and these run entirely independently of Steam, so I don't get bugged by unnecessary updates or have Steam prying into my racing activities. You just have to point CM to the right installation and it will use that one. All CM settings remain as they were.

One installation is on an SSD for speed of loading, the other is just a spare. I keep the Steam installation for online, which I have yet to try despite years of participation on GPL leagues from 1998 onwards. I am not sure whether the full set of online servers would be available to me on the non-Steam installations, though I think private online racing with a couple of chums would work.

Just watch out if you compress your stuff with CM (which saves an incredible amount of space and also speeds up loading). I find myself unable to copy over compressed files in the ordinary way; I have to uncompress them which is a right pain as I have 2500 cars and 300 odd tracks. But I'm sure there are ways of doing it, which I would be glad to hear about.

Thank you! added information is well received!

I recently transferred my AC to a new drive using the Steam built-in tool. The only additional thing that I needed to do was to point CM to the new location of AssettoCorsa.exe. Everything works perfectly. Good luck!

Thanks! just finalized the transfer with no issues....absolutely amazing!!...;)

Thanks for this. What's the source of the conversion? Or does it have elements from several versions of Imola?

Hi everyone, is it possible to perform a full conversion with blender (FM4 model) if yes how can I have the material/objects separation by colour like 3DSMax ?
This is my very first conversion if someone have some advice or a tutorial link it'll be awesome

I guess it must be the start engine app that I have installed.
I'll see if I can figure out how to make a clip... never done one before.
I did find it odd that you described it as and engine start sound as there is no such sound in AC. I thought maybe the gear grind sound was getting triggered.

Now that you know the culprit you can workaround the cause. In engine.ini raise the minimum RPM to something that your APP is happy with.
And if you're going to drive at anywhere except Brooklands than maybe 'cheat' a little and in brake.ini give the car some front brakes!
Pro Tip to avoid the compression locking I throw the clutch when braking.

The Aston Martin DTM is a funny car. People keep clamouring to have it in AC but in real life the car was garbage and only lasted a season.

I suppose it’ll be nice to have a full roster but it’s funny how sim racers would do anything to have a race car that wasn’t actually any good. Same goes for the 2015 GT-R LM Nismo and most pre-96 GT1 cars.
Its a good looking car, ngl

Hi guys,
I was planning on transferring AC to a new drive. Typically, this is a standard procedure that can be accomplished within Steam, but with AC being heavily modded, I don't know whether Steam would simply transfer vanilla AC, thus having to reinstall all mods, CM, CSP, SOL etc...
Appreciate any insight anyone might have on the subject...
Thanks guys!
I bought an application mover prog last year for 15 dollars and have used it to move several programs & large sized games to other hard drives incl AC, it works great and is well worth the money.
check it out here - https://www.funduc.com/app_mover.htm

SHORT FAT BOY, aka "CIVIC SPOON" had his falling down pants slightly pulled up. :D

It does not drag its bowels directly over the tarmac as before (thanks to @JakubP & @flyingsaucer for "supplying" :D the car to improve.
Now it's been a completely independent v1.01 for quite some time, which received my many fixes and addons [some i also shared here], including addons/fixes to the car, and also mod optimizations)

LATEST CHANGES:
Adjusted so far a bit with positive effect on look and feel of the car (handling).
