I don't think you do get my point. The driving aids in Assetto Corsa are, like all sims I've played, a one size fits all solution to aid gamepad users and people who struggle with throttle and brake control. They are not a realistic representation of the real life TC and ABS systems found in the various cars in the game. Real life ABS and TC systems are not all created equal, and the ones in AC are unrealistic and simple videogame driving aids, so having it switched on to factory doesn't make the cars behave in a more realistic manner. It's also possible to switch TC off in real life cars that have it, even race cars like GT3s, so not using TC in cars that have it IRL doesn't make for an unrealistic experience. The TC in real life racing cars is also not only nothing like AC's TC, but also nothing like real life road car TC systems. F1 TC never allowed drivers to simply "jump on the throttle" as you claim. Simply watching any of the seasons that allowed TC would reveal that.

The TC in GT3, for example, isn't just a perfect grip dial like in a game such as AC. It has a number of maps that the driver can switch between on the fly, many of which are designed to aid with tyre wear and temp control in different track conditions, and some which are designed as a bit of a safety net for the rich amateurs who regularly buy their way into GT3 racing.

The system in AC is just a videogame style driving aid, so use it if it helps you, but it's not making the experience more realistic, because it's preventing you feeling the limits of those cars. Having it set to factory will also have it set on by default on any modern car, which neuters them and makes them ridiculously easy to drive. I don't find any fun in letting the game control half the inputs of the cars for me, it's boring. It's the same reason I've turned TC off in real life cars I've driven in a "spirited" manner that have TC: They aren't much fun when the car is in control of how much throttle is being applied. Obviously for those road cars you can't alter the ABS without simply unplugging the module, but if I was driving one on a track I would unplug the ABS, because it'd allow me to brake on the threshold consistently without the intrusive nanny system kicking in and reducing the braking force. And again, just being able to jump full onto the brakes removes a ton of the difficulty in driving, which makes it boring. The ABS system in AC also behaves nothing like any real ABS system I've experienced in 14 years of driving. I'd be just as likely to turn on the driving line or stability control assists: They're all unrealistic driving assists provided to make the game more accessible and easier to play with a gamepad.

Tl;dr: Having those driving aids switched off for all cars doesn't make them behave unrealistically at all, because the possibility exists to have the aids off in real cars, and the underlying physics of AC are very realistic. But turning them on in an attempt to make the cars behave *more* realistically is a fool's game, as those aids don't behave like their real world counterparts at all. Switching them all off also allows you to feel and experience everything the cars are doing, and helps you get better at controlling your inputs.

Edit: I hope none of this comes across as rude, I know I can be quite blunt, and tend not to sugar coat things. I am not trying to be rude or condescending to you, just trying to give a thorough explanation of my point.

TC and ABS in AC are good as they get.
Settings for it are bit contradictory.
For example, if a car has 3 levels of TC and ABS it goes like this:
0(off), 1(strong), 2(medium), 3(weak).
Im not sure if you are aware of that, but if not,
try driving a GT3 car with TC/ABS set at 12 or any given maximum number
and then say its not realistic.

I finally got around to setting up my FOV properly, and I regret not doing it earlier. It's definitely increased the immersion for me. This is what I used to calculate it.

For those who haven't done it already, I highly recommend doing it, it only takes a few seconds to do.

@WVStarship I understand sharing rips and paid rips, but if we keep sharing scratch made stuff, those people will not get any money, it will not be worth it for them to make more quality cars, and we will only get those 99% of zero-quality conversions, with a few exceptions who actually devote some time to it.

Yup, I think many just pic a FOV and go with it.... and just get used to it. And when you have a high or to high FOV and it feels "slow", and you wonder why the car is locking up under braking when it shouldn't be. The car is going faster then what their seeing.

So you're saying you want me to post the entire URD GTE latest version pack :D :D
And your avatar, get out of a parking lot track rental kart and do 130+mph 1" off the ground, 3+g's at Laguna in a 250cc shifter Superkart, been there done that, I can give you a base setup :D

No. I am saying I would like to eventually get the M8 GTE and their historic LM stuff, because development of quality stuff for AC is so rare nowadays. Everything is flooded with low-quality rips and people are apparently satisfied with them. I have nothing against ripping (if done right ~0.5% of the time), I am against asking money for rips and I'd say nothing if that was the case here.

If you pay for the plane ticket and the kart, I'd be more than happy to try it.

Thats not quit how ride buying goes, plus you have to be able show you have (with a contract) the cheddar if you wad up a $12K Superkart.
And personal injury is on you, not the track or the provider. Been there with a few that wanted to step into one of my karts. :D

@Ales
Thank you, It seems promising ! ;-)
I'm not a "Maures" fan (^^) but I always appreciated these race car.

@Apexxer
About the McLaren MP4/13, I don't remember is the first one by Virtua Simulazioni got the glowing brakes !?
Is it possible to put it in a next release !? ;-)

About the 512 BB "stolen", I compared the two versions obviously !

The last one got TC and ABS, a reworked wheel by graphics, 2 different sounds (one for the interior view et a different one for outside view), more simple settings, exhaust flames and no light on the dashboard when you put the lights of the car which are working well and a beautiful and historical skin "Pioneer" !
The "modding" team don't change the tyres "Dunlop" by "Michelin", as the previous one.

The exterior sound is better for the "stolen" car even It's not a Ferrari sound like the inside sound by the way.
For the physics without obviously TC and ABS which no exists at all in the "real" original car... It's a proper opinion affair.
The skin "Pioneer" don't match with the previous version, I tried.

So... I prefer the previous version even If I will like to add exhaust flames, the "Pioneer" skin and the exterior sound. ^^

Cheers ! ;-)

You from Dublin?

Ok, I already have CM.. What window do I drop it in?

Thanks!
I am using the mod tool in CM, entered the Discord Chanel in there, much easier, do you know where it is?
It will “magically” install it where it supposed to. When updating in the future, don’t forget to dis install the old patch in mod and delete it before installing the new patch.

Thank you very much for sharing ;-) As many I have spent so much time as a kid with Gran Turismo and seeing these available for AC warms my heart ;-)

Thank you for sharing this one. Unfortunately the link is broken :-(
I would love to add this to my AI field of Gr.5 cars and see this on the track (The DRM Revival mod is my most used field of cars).
Is there a chance you could repost the link?

Its bit of slow progress but first AC version is ingame :)
Oh, this is nice you are working on it again! I remember seeing this car a long time ago when you had users who bought the PX mod download a pre release version of it. It will be nice to see this car added to AC at some point. It was a great time of racing!

I will try to figure it out in a bit, I really appreciate the help. I need to start digging into this stuff but like I said before I am afraid of messing things up in an attempt to make them better! I haven't even updated my firmware on my DD wheel from when I got it over a year ago!:lol::lol:

Again, thank you

I could use some help guys. I just got the URD T5 2018 mod. In the rar-File, there is a "content" folder and a "extension" folder. I have already copied the cars from the "content" folder into the cars folder from Assetto Corsa, however, i dont know what to do with the content of the "extension" folder. There are two more folders in there, config and textures.

This is my very first mod for AC and since there is no tutorial from URD to install their mod, i hope you guys can help me out.

Last but not least, i'm looking for a BMW skin pack for that 2018 mod. I found Mercedes and Audi at Race department but no BMW...

Thanks guys. Now this might be kinda off-topic but i'm playing in 4K and for some strange reason the menu in Assetto Corsa is know super-tiny. I can barely read any of the text and its kinda impossible to set up my custom DTM championship now. Is there any way to solve this quickly?
