Currently I work on Jyllandsringen graphics update . What about flickering billboards? How can these be repaired? The track has some large billboards which flicker but as you move on and get closer the flickering stops. Like a LOD switch from B to A or something.

I see this flickering far billboards issue in many tracks.
Usually that is the problem: the 3d object with the sponsor texture is too close to the 3d object with the billboard structure. When, in game, you are close to the objects, you can see it good. But when far, they mess each other.
So, you have to open in 3dsimed and move the sponsor panel a little bit much far from the billboard structure.
I hope i explane good :D

Can I ask which version of Autopolis you guy's are running? The version I have now is over two years old , and I don't remember seeing a newer version any where. I got Masscot's billboard pack , but I don't think it's for the track I have.

I think there is only one Autopolis, maybe from NFS. The one i download from here is the same i have since years.... It was published on RD at the time but removed because it's ripped from another game.

Hello everyone and happy Easter to all. an information, why some cars are seen on Contenent Manager and not on Assetto Corsa game
If I remember correctly if the folder name is not formatted in a way that the the godawful HTML launcher that former kunos employee made then it would crash the launcher, the code was altered so that it ignores these files. At this point its just really in your best interest to never use the default launcher.

Tried it, looks good to me, thank you.

Since you asked, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve could use your skills.:D

Thanks! :)
Strange, I have a newer version of the track with the same folder name. I don´t know the author, but it seems he is a different one and the track imho graphical ways better.
I downloaded now the version from Racedepartment, renamed the folder I had before (Trackname: Montreal F1 2017) and made the adjustments. I even baked a vao-patch and now it looks darker and saturated.
What do you mean, is this better or to dark and saturated?

Here the new skin:

Please test it and give some feedback.
Happy Easter to you all! :gtpflag:

Can anyone please help me correcting these trees and crowd? Or give me a push into the right direction to solve this? :)

Hey,
Masscot inspired me with his post where he mentioned "Autopolis always being a bit bleached and washed out, like a lot of older NFS Shift conversions are" and "I guess it'd be relatively easy to apply a universal one-hit correction to all of the textures". He brought me to think about it. But doing this not with Photoshop, but with free tools. At least I found a way doing this. But I think it could be tweaked a little better.
However Masscot meant to post my actual results here and now I´m asking for feedback. I´m developing, testing and tweaking it the whole day, and now my eyes are hypertensive to see the relevant. ;)

What do you mean, is it darkened and saturated enough or could it be even more or less?
There are 2 skins, the textures, now saturated and darkened, and so the old billboards too. So combining the textures with gladbecker82´s new Super GT billboards is possible.
Have anybody a idea what other tracks could need this kind of treature too? Saturating and darkening a bit.
I´ve uploaded 2 screenshots as a short preview. :)

long_beach_2012 really need treatment, very white.

Definitely way better when darkened up like that. I have noticed quite a few tracks that seem " bleached " as well , and would look way better if darkened up a bit.

@Kran.......thank you for the advice.

@Fanapryde ......Thank you for the Ambush link. The track wouldn't run though , as it said it was " Missing or no spline " in the file. I know that track isn't everyones cup of tea , but I've always dug it.

On a side note : with me being really new to AC , last night I drove a couple tracks that blew my mind. Okutama and Potrero De Los Funes. I have personally never driven on such a high detailed , impressive looking tracks like these , and with high frame rates to boot. Again , I'm new , so I'm not sure who converted these wonderful tracks , but my god I will take more of those any time I can find them! Incredible!
Try the tracks "Prague" and "Rio". These tracks are very good.

ok. thank you

I haven't done a billboard pack for Autopolis, only Okutama and Miami Bayside.
Make sure you follow the correct folder structure when adding track skins otherwise they won't work. Check how the recent Gran Turismo/SuperGT billboard update (Autopolis) is done.
How do you do billboard packs for tracks? I want to remove those weird anime/borderline hentai billboards on ACF's Tokyo Route 246

you need 3dsimed

free trial for 30 days I believe

then its 30 euro's or so to buy it

you also need Paintshop, etc to modify the files

you just need content manager and GIMP if you want to change the billboards.
In CM, if you go to content, tracks and it says skins, click there.

name the skin whatever you want, then click OVERRIDE textures, you can then select every dds file you wanna change, click override and they files are in the folder.

search this thread for dds, there should be a link to a plugin for gimp.

Yep, I just use photoshop.

The method above can also be used to borrow better (or more often - darker) asphalt textures and better trees from other tracks. You just rename the 'new' texture to the one you want to replace and drop it in the skin folder, replacing the existing crappy one.

Other textures like grass. walls, brickwork, crowds can also be replaced with a little care.

Some mod tracks won't let you access the individual textures though, depends how they were originally converted/created.

I've just sent Shaun Clarke this new wiper animation... hope he will like it :D

He's going to upload the car with my modifications soon.

Man this is one of my favorite TCR cars to drive, what a nice easter Egg this will be along with the windscreen improvments too. And I think U said U adjusted some of the physics too? I don't remember and I'm too lazy to look right now, must be last night's conversation with ACU til 5:00am, he will be done with work project soon and starting more track making soon

@HarVee
Well, I usually do them for the cars I like or when I'm involved in some reworks I find interesting.
The problem is, even if the wiper animation works, if you don't have "INTERNAL_GLASS" in the car, you won't see any raindrop :D

Would you like to have wipers working for what car in particular?

Thank you so much for doing these wiper animations and share them. This is something not everyone can easily do without the needed software and skills and more and more people get to benefit from your effort, the more these fixes are incorporated into the actual mods, shared by the original mod makers. Thank you for that!

nice updates, except for Hope that has that issue on all layouts

Probably _SOL related, since with Weather FX deactivated in settings of the patch, all is well.

The issue here is not SOL related but unfortunately tracks that show this issue do use a non Kunos standard skybox texture format (something to do with alpha channels in the skybox texture if I remember correctly). The proper fix for this would be to replace the skybox texture with one that complies to the standard used in Kunos track and all will be fine if I remember correctly from a conversation very early on in the SOL dev phase.

I made a similar fix to the Aosta's skybox, by changing ghe material from alpha blend to alpha croma. I can't check right now, but i suppose this is the same issue. Anyway was SOL related, in Aosta.

he is still active? If you can do you mind asking why he took the ginetta gt3 down? I really liked the mod.

Perhaps you have to play around with your settings? Wich version of SOL and Shaders Patch do you have installed?
I don´t have this issues.
